Mary Tyler Moore dead at age of 80

the rule of three. I assume you know who Butch Trucks was. I started a thread in the M&E section in tribute to him. His cause of death at age 69 was "undetermined"

Oh, yes, of course. I was just shocked--hadn't heard. Instantly texted my sib after learning of his death from you. Thanks for posting the news.

I wonder who will be the third? We lost Butch Trucks yesterday as well (founding member of the Allman Brothers' Band and Uncle of Derek Trucks and Duane (Widespread Panic Drummer) Trucks)

The "rule of three" really isn't a thing.

I remember watching her during the 60's and 70's.

It wasn't all roses. But, yeah. She was wonderful.

No, it wasn't. She lost her only child through an accidental shooting when he was in his early 20's.

Yeah. That was very tragic. I remember reading about the problems she had coming to terms with that. I was about 20 then, living rather recklessly myself. So, it kind of struck a nerve with me too...the thought of my mom having to bury me.

When you bury your child, you're burying your dreams and hopes for the future and all that you ever thought you understood about the world. In the twinkling of an eye, life as you knew it is gone forever.
