Sources say Trump's CIA visit made relations with intel community worse

I don't dispute that. But none of that justifies using it as a backdrop for that kind of speech. What if it were the Tomb of the Unknown. The Vietnam Memorial. Ground Zero. It is something decent people, and people who can at least fake decency, don't do.

Speeches are given in front of that wall all the time. Even Obama's dumbass joked about the gift shop in front of that wall.

Pls define battlefield.
Look at the ones killed in an air crash, believe it was Tibet.

You know, where a battle is taking place?

You know, where a battle is taking place?

Does the CIA always operate on like where a battle takes place EH??

Brewerbob did. Read the thread.

Is this the quote?

Not only that but while standing in front of that wall he says we should have taken Iraq's oil and then says, "Ok, but maybe we'll have another chance". WTF? He makes a flippant remark like that while it is the people like those represented on that wall who pay the price for such choices. Horrible optics and completely insensitive.

Maybe if he ever decides to invade Iran he should announce it from a podium in front of the Vietnam War Memorial.

Horse pucky- He did not even come close to implying that.
You like Kelly Ann are into alternative facts - and we know what they are.

Kerist on a Crutch you had a standard of they had to die on a battlefield, now it is combat. Try to keep your alternative facts in line.

Pls define battlefield.

And then come back with this lame reply.
You know, where a battle is taking place?

The last time a President made **** up and ignored intelligence briefings we ended up in Iraq. Without the Intelligence Community, the government is effectively an Oligarchy ruled by a Party Orwell Style. All that would be left is the NSA and mass surveillance.

There is a reason there is inter-communal rivalries within U.S. Intelligence. Everyone is striving to be top-dog, and the competition keeps the con-centralization of power at bay.

Others have posted about Trump's speech as he stood before the Memorial Wall at CIA headquarters. A speech which focused more on his complaints about how he sees the media, which also contained that one big lie in regards to his "respect' for the intelligence community. Again, reality shows us something contradicting his words. TRUMP COMPARES INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY LEAKS WITH NAZI BEHAVIOR

Where Trump screwed up was not in what he said. It was in what he did. The CIA Memorial room is a sacred place to them, and not a place to engage in politics in. George Bush was the first president to ever give a speech there after 911, but it was not political in nature, and Bush was very respectful. Obama became the second to give a speech there to thank the CIA for helping to take out bin Laden, and that speech was also respectful. Trump, however, turned the room into a three ring circus.

Trump has been saying from day one.. if the US did the work load in Iraq, they should have had rights to the Oil. Nothing new there. Bigger issue is that he did it in front of the Wall of of Honor. I despise the CIA and I am not that dumb.

IF IT'S TRUE...that everything the intelligence community has said about Russia's interference was accurate, then Brennan's comments would frankly make a lot of sense in light of what Trump has said about them.

Most here don't understand how the IC works. Reports to Presidents is full of hackery (or political BS) as it's political appointee level briefings and the real IC (those who go on hard facts) tend to give wishy washy reports and the political side molds it to fit the current leadership roles views. For example: Many of the career IC people laughed and wrote off Yellow Cake and the Curveball "asset" (German asset) on Iraq WMDs. But since it fit the political appointee view, it was added to the reports to the President. Or Obama' briefings which gave warm and fuzzies about ISIS and Syria Rebels then blamed Assad for everything.

What battlefields did we have troops in in 1983 and '89?

1983.. of top of my head.. Lebanon and Grenada. 1989 was Panama only a few days but who knows.

The word from the intelligence community is that Cheney aggressively pushed the CIA for evidence they could use in the drive toward invading Iraq. This has the sound of truth to it, based on my experience of the news from the buildup to the war.

And you didn't dispute what I said. It's politics that decides Intel. Career folks have no say.

I think that, in reality, you really are able to recognize that my post doesn't help your argument in the least, and that playing stupid is just your way of passing the time.

I will post here what I posted in another thread where a poster mentioned this supposed fact.

Isn't it a wonderful thing that people can make up **** and credit anonymous sources?

What a country!!

Sorry I couldn't resist. ;)

I doubt the CIA body counts were very high in any of those operations

Well one of those stars are for the 1983 United States embassy bombing in Lebanon.

I never said that none of those folks died as a result (direct, or indirect) of a decision to go to war. No doubt some did.

That's funny... I actually had a relative who spent 6 years in the US IC on the Army side and living around the DC area until my early 20s knowing a few IC people who were neighbors. You know how many who's worked in the IC?

I work in the IC and knew at least six 89-3r Delta Foxes out of the Congo.
