I have a friend that flew for United. They were in a holding pattern for 45 minutes over Chicago. One of the aircraft in the holding pattern asked how much longer they were going to be in holding. ATC said that they didn't know. One of the 50 or so aircraft in the pattern answered over the radio, "Bull****". ATC went nuts and started demanding that the offending aircraft own up to the "bull****" comment. Every aircraft in holding answered back, (example) "ATC, 424 negative bull****." That went on for about 10 minutes.

Welcome to reality.

It is time the government worker tightened their belts like the rest of the country did in 2008.

Government workers need to take a pay cut and a 2nd job to make ends meet. Wait until you feel the higher cost of healthcare as well everything else the rest of the country has had to endure. I am referring to the 100k a year and higher overpaid people.

It is time to take some of the straw off the hard working taxpayers back.

We need a leaner government. Time to trim the fat.

I was never a fan of government workers getting bonuses to begin with. And methinks Uncle Sam likes to dole them out like candy.

Under the GS wage system wages are set and bonuses are a way to supplement those limits

I mean, if they've earned a bonus they've earned a bonus. If it's fair I have no issue with it.

If we want our best people to serve the country then we have to make it competitive. Otherwise we end up with under-motivated slobs and govt just gets worse.
 
Nice gesture...means little.

So what...he stops hiring paper-pushing bureaucrats and instead hires TONS more bullet pushing government employees that will cost WAY more money.

Cut both...cut almost all departments drastically...that is the way to a better America. Not spending more on a military that already dwarfs any in the world by MILES when there is near-zero threat of war against America.


Every good idea Trump has seems to be cancelled by an even worse one.
 
He's doing this so he can transparently pay off all the fat cats who endorsed him.

Clingers to a boring job that they expect to receive a nice pay check each month for and a cushy retirement

And bitter that aren't getting even more

Shrinking by attrition makes sense. It has less impact than firing, but runs into problems as time goes on. It also takes time.

It keeps the workforce old. You need to hire young people while this is happening, at least at a slower rate.
