TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) - Protesters in Mexico took control of vehicle lanes at one of the busiest crossings on the U.S. border Sunday to oppose Mexican gasoline price hikes, waving through motorists after Mexican authorities abandoned their posts.

Motorists zipped by about 50 demonstrators at the Otay Mesa port of entry connecting San Diego and Tijuana, many of them honking to show support.

50 Mexican protestors were able to take over one of our busiest border crossings. Facepalm....yeah the border is really secure. Imagine if they'd wanted to do more than wave flags and allow cars through with no inspection.

Seems like terroristic activities. I can only hope protestors on our side of the border decide to do the same thing.

Isn't this an appropriate example of why Trump's remarks about the border were correct? These were not terrorists who took over the border crossing, they were average Mexicans.

????????
No.

Like I said; I can only hope protestors on our side of the border decide to do the same thing.

I'd have more respect for right wingers if they were just plain honest because When they start talking about how regulations are bad for the economy and how the EPA stifles growth, it's important to note that they aren't talking about the economy as a whole. They're only talking about the impact on private corporate profits and returns for shareholders. Because that's all they care about. You can't have a baseball game without an umpire and companies can't be engaging in the game of business, particularly when those businesses produce physical or economic poisons, without specific rules and referees to protect the public.

Yes, Mexico has been a dangerous country for Americans to travel to for many years. Dangerous for anyone to travel to really. On a personal level, my friend's father, who was born in Mexico, was kidnapped when he went back to see his family there. Gangs are so desperate that they'll kidnap people who aren't even close to being rich here in the states.
The stress caused my friend's dad to have a heart attack. Luckily he survived though.

Kidnapping is a great way to make money in Mexico and all too common. Not every gringo is rich, but that's the perception. I've known college students who didn't finish a semester because they were kidnapped when they visited family during spring break.
