Trump takes charge: 45th president vowing 'robust' first 100 days

I doubt that very much - perhaps we will have to pass it first in order to see what is in it. ;)

Doubt that too...We are not looking at demo's here...Let's take a breath shall we?

Why would they have come up with anything when the divider n chief would veto it....?

There's nothing to veto if they don't put forth even the slightest hint of content.

If it really were this amazing thing that will, what was the phrase, save America, then it would be obvious to the citizens, wouldn't it? And then Obama would look bad for vetoing such an amazing piece of legislation.

But nah, I'm sure the GOP would never want that.

Point taken. I would like to see a set of honest conservatives and honest liberals work together for the betterment of the country, but I've been waiting for that all my life. Both ideologies are flawed and work best when they temper each other.

Agreed, and that is really the ultimate goal here...Forget the Obamacare, forget all the other chatter, if we can see a start to the return of reaching across the isle, then it will be better than other Presidents could achieve...Now, do I see that with the likes of Schumer, Pelosi, and the cast of dividers? Not a chance....So, I guess it is on with the name calling, the cute slogans, and stupid, childish arguments....Sigh.

You libs never change....Always wanting your opponents to bring something forth so all you have to do is poke holes....It's lazy.

Trump is

LARGE AND IN CHARGE!

The simple fact is that repeal of PPACA was the right (correct and conservative) move - there is no constitutional federal power to regulate "private" medical care insurance. Short of that then the best move, at the federal level, is to allow anyone to get Medicaid (as a "public option") with premiums set at a fixed percentage of income.

Republicans had 6 years to come up with a plan. How much longer do they need?

Given that their starting point is still at zero, probably quite a while.

My dog can tough a sign with her nose that says 'Has New Health Plan', but that does not mean that she really has does. :lamo

I agree with that...

They're the party of zero ideas and.. just denial.

Denial that ObamaCare saved and helped people, denial that global warming exists, denial that they don't own the word 'marriage', denial of evolution, denial the abortion is none of their business...

The list just goes on.

... So wait.. your excuse is that they spent 6 years without coming up with a plan because Obama was in power?

Are you serious?

The moment Donald Trump swears the oath of office and lifts his hand from the Bible as the 45th president of the United States on Friday, the clock begins on his first 100 days.

And within hours, the man who campaigned as an outsider vowing to shake up Washington will have his chance to start rolling back his predecessor's legacy while forging his own.

Finally! Hoping Trump will get the repairs started, but, at the very least, Obama is OUT at noon today!

Say goodbye to dignity and decency in the White House and get set for four years of peevishness and petulence.

Don't try and put this on us. "Repeal and replace" has been a freaking religious chant from the right for six years now. They brought this up. They said they'd replace it. And six years later we still have no inkling of what they'd replace it with.

The ACA is a weak piece of legislation. It shuffles around who pays for health insurance, but does very little to address why it's so costly in the first place. It's a giant taxpayer funded handout to insurance companies.

I'm all for putting in something better. Tell me what the **** that is.

Shouldn't it be first 97 days? He's not starting til monday is what I heard...

I wonder if the Democrats were working on a plan ahead of the chance to implement it. Nah, that'd require foresight.

I agree with that...

Thank you. That proposal is simple, easy to "cost" and passes the "fairness" test. Enrollment would require nothing more than filing your annual tax return, voluntarily checking the "Medicaid" box and paying your premium percentage as an additional FIT.

Among other considerations....But you know that...

And now the American Dark Ages begin.

For the sane among you probably the best way to endure is to know that Trump likely represents the bottoming out of non-public involvement in the funding and governance of the nation. Trump hopefully is the worst it can get. Four years from now when Trump is no longer in the White House (part time) it will be a new dawn. Extremists will largely be ignored and sanity and moderation will begin to mend fences, tare down walls, reach hands across the isle to compromise and work together to rebuild the nation.

Trump represents a purge of the system. Think of him as political diarrhea.

Change is necessary and like or not most mainstream Americans have long ago relinquished their responsibility to the nation to be actively involved in their own government. Change is going to happen. Either you act as a change agent or others will. And they have. In four years many more Americans will be more informed about their government and more involved in participating in government as informed citizens. It's just going to take some pain to get us there.

Yep, he has also stated that creating TrumpCare (replacing PPACA) will be his first legislative priority. Long gone are any republicant arguments over whether regulating "private" medical care insurance is a constitutional federal power. The "anti-regulation" and "small government" guy will foist many new federal regulations upon we the sheeple.

I fully expect that TrumpCare will not start (actually go into effect) until after the 2018 elections mostly because it must move at the speed of congress critters and that huge federal programs take time (and money) to implement. It appears that the good parts of PPACA now include federal control of "private" medical care insurance and drug/medical procedure price "negotiation" - which was once said to be the worst part of PPACA.

Actually the SCOTUS did not rule obamacare valid under the commerce clause that can still be challenged. what they did loophole it through was the ability to lay tax.

I think twtt had a good idea....What do you say to his thought?

God bless the President of the United States. I remain worried and skeptical, but hope for the best.

wow such doom and gloom.
and nothing has happened yet.

you might be in for a rough ride but the majority of people will be fine.

Nah, they had people like Van Jones working with the insurance companies to come up with it....Hell, Obama, and Pelosi herself didn't even know what was in it.

Actually the SCOTUS did not rule obamacare valid under the commerce clause that can still be challenged. what they did loophole it through was the ability to lay tax.

It was a most bizarre 5/4 split decision - 4 against based on the commerce clause, 4 for based on the commerce clause and one for based on the 16A. If the vote were held again with the current SCOTUS it would still pass 5/3.

yep that is an option yet except.
Access Denied

every doctor I talked to asked if I had Medicaid and then goes well we aren't taking that, but you are fine with my employer.
