10% of total federal spending? Discretionary spending is only about 1/3 of total federal spending and military spending is over half of that "discretion", which Trump has vowed to increase. In order to get a 10% total federal spending reduction from less than 1/6 of the federal budget would require some very massive cuts - on the order of 45% (or more) from non-military discretionary spending.

That 10% federal spending cut "promise" is going to be mission impossible to get congress critters to accept. Like many Trumpisms, the lack of details makes this yet another vague policy "goal". We will soon see a Trump budget that will be largely ignored by congress as they continue to borrow and spend their way to re-election.

Are they not capable of finding another job?? The left is telling us the economy is fine, so what's the problem??? If they are not bright enough to get another job in this " good" economy why would I want them working for me?? Yes they work for me. I'm called a tax payer!!

No. Offer them the jobs the illegal aliens will be vacating. Also, with the billions US Corporations are pouring into new facilities, lots of good paying jobs will become available.

I would cut every federal spending program discretionary or otherwise by 1% a years for 10 years

Even welfare, social security and Medicare

You never did understand economic activity and what 400 billion added back to the US economy will do to that activity. 10% spending cut=400 billion not required from the taxpayers to pay for federal spending

We can make massive cuts to the CIA and our military spending. That would take up many of those cuts right there.

now, i would not be surprised that he would flip flop on that expansion commitment, but to be so visible doing so is not tRump-like

A great start would be to return all social engineering programs back to the states where they belong, take Medicare and SS totally off budget along with the payroll taxes that fund them. Cut drastically the Department of Education, Transportation, and Energy. Undoing the PC model the left has built is going to be fun to watch

An aid with at least an elementary school grasp of 'math,' probably mentioned to him that his 20-30% Tax cuts would increase the dreaded "deficits" he talked about, so he needed to cut "spending."

Would be great seeing us return to the true role of the Federal govt. which is to PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE and return all social engineering programs back to the states where they belong and where the consequences for failure are paid for

How about government is to big and going bankrupt!! How about that?? Do you really think there is no room to cut people in government???? I know, the left thinks the government is a model of efficiency and there would never be any dead weight needing cut.....

Name one congress critter that would cut military pensions, federal pensions, Medicare or Social Security. You have made some outrageous claims but this one takes the cake. You can rest assured that federal spending will go up in every year of the Trump term.

It will be impossible for trump to keep all the promises he made

The important thing what he does manage to do
