Clinton Global Initiative to lay off employees, shut down amid dwindling donations

The Clintons are moving ahead with plans to downsize their controversial foundation’s network of offshoots, a decision carried out as the powerful family’s political influence wanes and its once-lengthy donor list shrinks.

In a decision announced last week, 22 additional employees are being laid off from the Clinton Global Initiative – known for its annual glitzy gathering of high-powered leaders and celebs. The layoffs are tied to a decision to shutter CGI that originally was announced in an Aug. 22 letter from former President Bill Clinton.

Gee, does anyone know why this could be? Have all the needy people been taken care off already and there is just no one left? Why would a "charitable" organization shutdown so fast??? I am shocked!

The Clinton Crime Family can no longer guarantee the special perks involved in being a "donor", so no one "donates" money to this branch of the Clinton Money Laundering Foundation anymore.

I found the most reputable source i could find related to what happened. They're pretty clear, back in September:

"The winding down of CGI after this week’s glitzy gathering and the resulting layoffs stem from concessions made by the Clinton Foundation to controversies swirling around Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

But the recent moves to sunset the project have prompted controversies of their own around the Clinton Foundation, which administers CGI. And they presage the difficulties the Clintons can be expected to face if Hillary Clinton wins the presidency and they move forward with plans to scale back the rest of the foundation."

Lol, so they were planning to scale back the foundation to prepare for if she won the presidency. They're just following through on that plan and i see no mention of dwindling donations anywhere.

Win or lose, they were going to shut it down. It had served it's purpose. Obviously, the charitable part of it was not important.

Kind of hard to get donations when "pay for play" is off the table.

Despite scoring relatively high in accountability and transparency by nonprofit watchdogs, the foundation nonetheless became a flash-point in the 2016 election. It was dogged by accusations of influence peddling, self dealing and conflicts of interests, due in large part to hefty contributions from foreign governments and other influential donors. Since the organization's inception, tens of millions from big donors have flowed to the organization, according to the Foundation's public database.

As emails disclosed by WikiLeaks laid bare internal concerns about how the Clinton Foundation's funding might impact the former Secretary of State's run for the Oval Office, former President Bill Clinton announced in August that the nonprofit would reject corporate and foreign donations if Hillary Clinton prevailed in her campaign.

This is pretty much all the proof we need that the CGI's mission was not to help people, but to solicit contributions for the in-the-bag upcoming Clinton presidency. This is basically the Clinton's blasting from a loudspeaker that they were selling access and favors from the future president. And they don't care who knows, because they never did anything about it anyway.

That is a gloriously fascinating read.

"The Russians" are a weak Band-Aid of deflection. The real people with the real money want answers. Those DNC coffers are going to be light until they are provided.

There are so many BS allegations floating around about "the Russians" that it is impossible to sort them out from the credible ones. The media tries to mix the idiotic **** up with the credible issues to give the BS credibility. Screw the media.
