‘Never Trump’ national-security Republicans fear they have been blacklisted

Not just that, but Trump has shown he isn't opposed to hiring people who disagree with him. This is just victim mentality trying to find excuses for not getting picked.

National security know-it-alls are a dime a dozen in Washington

Trump doesn't need the these bums

I'm not quite there. I am not a person who necessarily values loyalty over skill. If any of these people can help more than a loyalist then give them a spot. You are right that there are a lot of experts, but some are right more often than others. If their biggest blemish is not supporting Trump then it shouldn't be held against them.

So we move forward into a very dangerous world with a team of rank amateurs at the helm. God save the USA.

If they were neo cons, I support Trump in blacklisting them

I see no reason to think establishment anti trumpsters know more about national security than others who are less partisan

Having an occasional star on your team does not make it a good team. They are best characterized by rank amateurs.

See, you said a team of rank amateurs. But they aren't. So its partisan sour grapes/sore loser BS, as usual.

Its not vengeful cronyism. He needs to be able to trust them. He can't. I am not cheering it, but I understand it.

I'm cheering on it. Yay us!!!! 4 days!!!!! I am going to cook a special meal and break out some good Irish whiskey and sit on the deck naked while I play Deep Purple, Smoke on the Water, at 1100 watts (RMS).

So you need an all-star national security team in order to discover imaginary WMDs, help create the largest European refugee crisis since WWII, or negotiate an agreement with North Korea preventing it from building nuclear weapons so it can thumb its nose at the planet while it builds nuclear weapons?

So not hiring people who actively went against you is bullying now. You might want to look up what that word means. So tell me was it bullying when Obama didn't nominate republicans for important positions or is it only bullying when a Republican does it.

They didn't get a participation trophy either.

Aren't the professionals the neo conservatives you despise anyway? Either way you would be complaining.

I sort of agree with the style of your spin on this

But on substance the WMD's were never found but I wonder where Assad in Syria got his from?

The refugee crisis was created by obama and hillary not bush

And the dumbest nuclear deal was the one obama signed with Iran

I was opposed as any #NeverTrumper and I also understand it. Those folks burned their bridge in a public bonfire and now want to pretend it didn't happen. It might be a loss for the country, but as you said how can the Trump administration trust them?

From the 1970s
Syria's chemical weapons program[edit]
Syria's chemical weapons program began in the 1970s with weapons and training from Egypt and the Soviet Union, with production of chemical weapons in Syria beginning in the mid-1980s. In July 2007 Syrian arms depot explosion, there were suggestions that the incident involved a secret chemical weapons facility.

The last time a NeoCon had a good idea was...

...oh, never mind. How silly of me.

Still trying to figure out if Trump believes in any ideology besides Trump.

So trump isn't going to get dem support and he's trying to make sure he doesn't get a large swath of GOP support either. Should be an interesting four years.

He did have the support of the Republican, "never-Trumpers", anyway.

If his policies are successful, every last one of them will be riding his coat tails.

So...how's that Obamacare working?

They also become the notorious inside sources that leak everything and are an internal PR nightmare.

Agreed - Assembling the best team is critical.

Elections in 2018. Times are interesting.

lol...

For more than a year, we've been told that we're not allowed to take Trump at his word. But, we're supposed to placate Trump supporters by being completely literal in every criticism put forth.

Good lord.
