Intel chiefs presented Trump with claims of Russian efforts to compromise him

So then you have evidence that Trump sent a private request to Russia asking for them to hack the emails as you claimed happened. Why didn't you just say so. How about you link to that evidence.
No, that's a goofy strawman.
Really juvenile Burden shift attempt.
The Intelligence agencies have evidence for what was said above.
No, I don't have evidence in my drawer/DUH.
bye.

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

I have never bought into an alliance between the two. I do think, based on the evidence presented, believe Russia worked to influence the election via illegal means. I can also believe they have information on most all major players in US politics. As far as the alliance, while I consider it unlikely, this story does not work against such a scenario. That was my whole point.

And looking at Putin's motives, they seem to me to be to expand Russia geographically, politically, and in influence. He will not let anything get in the way of that. Since to do that means taking away from us our are allies, Russia is perforce our enemy. Not that we are at war, but that we are working at conflicting goals.

Trump should hire you for foreign policy advice.

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

Our whole damn country had compromising evidence on Donald Trump for the last 15 months and they still voted for him.

Touché.

This would have to be really bad to matter. I honestly can't think of a thing that would be at all surprising.

If it matters to Trump, then it is of value to the Russians. And we have seen just how thin skinned Trump can be.

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

If this is true, called it.

Let's say we accept your excuses for Russian interference and allow me, if you will to throw out a hypothetical.

What if this is Putins long game, what if they realized they could sow chaos in the American political system even more than they already have.

Russian interference, at least in part, got a mad man elected, so on that point it was a success... But, what if the Russians also penetrated the Trump organization and the Trump campaign as well, what if they're holding onto something to reveal after he is sworn in to sow even more chaos, would you be so quick to embrace some seriously damaging material leaked by the Russians on a sitting president, there's probably no shortage of such material.

The Twitter feed has #goldenshowers trending. I'll let you all figure out how that fits in with the compromising situations discussed in the report. Talk about a leak. :)

That's comedy gold. See what I did there?

I had me a hunch Putin held a honey pot over the Dumpster's head.

My thoughts are that Trump is probably too aloof and concerned with Twitter to actually control his surrogates to the point he'd be telling his people to talk to the Russians. All things considered, this seems to be more and more a case of people under him working to defeat Clinton even if it meant trading information to the Russians in exchange for hacks and releasing information. I do not believe Trump was personally involved in this, he just benefited from it.

If it's half as bad as CNN makes it sound, this may be the first true test for the incoming Trump administration. After the smoke clears out, and once Trump is inevitably cleared of wrongdoing himself, I would not be surprised if he was faced with the question of what to do with the surrogates who went as far as to basically sell us all out to win an election.

I would probably become a Trump supporter if he fired them by the dozens and exiled them.

Here is what I gleaned from watching CNN in the last 20 minutes:

Apparently there were TWO parts to the briefings given last week.
The second known to only 10 people. Pres/Pres-elect: the 8 Congressional leaders.
This second was beyond the well known Russian Influence hacking of the Democatic party.
But has now breaking out into the open.

Apparently the Russians Claim:
1. The they have Compromising info on Trump personally and financially.
(I joked/intimated about 'Kremlin Hilton Trysts' and 'Russian Loans' a few days ago)
2. There were ongoing contacts between the Trump campaign/surrogates and the Russians.

These are said to be very reliable but Uncorroborated as of yet.
The FBI will neither confirm nor deny they are investigating. IOW, they are.
This could explain Trump's refusal to condemn the Russian Hacks, indeed he bizarrely asked for more out loud.

#2 is a big fat zero, Trump was ahead in the Polls since Aug 2015, of course his people were talking to the Russians. Not only does Trump like to talk to everyone but those who think that they have a shot (even some that dont) as SOP talk to world leaders before the American people have decided, as they try to look presidential and navigate issues during the campaign. Sometimes candidates even travel to foreign countries during this time to meet with leaders from around the world.

Desperation, I smell it.

I would submit that "alliance" is not the correct term. Trump needed big money. The Russian oligarchs wanted/needed avenues to expand and to move the massive amounts of money they stole from the Russian people, and others. Trump was the dupe.

Yeah, everyone was happy. Trump got what he wanted (he thought) and the oligarchs got what they wanted and Putin set the hook. Once done Trump had little choice. You wouldn't call someone suckered into dealing with the mafia an alliance. Putin is a former KGB officer. He is well versed in the game and Trump was maybe an easy mark.

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

Some dickwad Democratic lawmaker here in NH is introducing a bill to prevent the import and sale of Russian vodka in our state liquor stores. There go my excellent Bloody Marys.

So what? Each successive Bloody Mary one is better than the last. What do you care Russian Vodka or not after the second drink? Polish Vodka is better, anyway.

Paul Manafort Quits Donald Trump’s Campaign After a Tumultuous Run
By MAGGIE HABERMAN and JONATHAN MARTIN
AUG. 19, 2016
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/20/us/politics/paul-manafort-resigns-donald-trump.html

Paul Manafort, a professional Republican political operative since the 1970s, was supposed to impose order on Donald J. Trump’s chaotic presidential campaign. On Friday, the chaos devoured him.

Weeks of sliding poll numbers and false starts had sapped Mr. Manafort’s credibility inside the campaign. A cooling relationship with Mr. Trump — who had taken to calling Mr. Manafort “low energy,” the epithet he once used to mock a former rival, Jeb Bush — turned hot last weekend when the candidate erupted, blaming Mr. Manafort for a damaging newspaper article detailing the campaign’s internal travails, according to three people briefed on the episode.

Then a wave of reports about Mr. Manafort’s own business dealings with Russia-aligned leaders in Ukraine...

TWO birds with One stone:
Polls AND the Middle Man.
Woof! (and thx)

Buzzfeed is trying to out-Gawker Gawker. Many reporters are coming forward and saying that the Buzzfeed release has been in the wind for a while and news agencies passed on it because it couldn't be substantiated. The editor of Buzzfeed has pulled back on the report, stating that they have tried for weeks to verifiy the claims in the report and have been unable to... but posted it anyway.

Fake news.

The Russians have dirt on Trump? Of course they do, the Russians are pretty good at this game, and non idiots who have been paying attention know that Trump is no Boy Scout.

Next the elite will be found trying to inform me that water is wet.

Oh, I agree. I need to see more than a # to say this leaky shower business is accurate. But, it is funny. And, a bit of a payback for Pizzagate, at the very least.

If its a normal, consensual sex tape where he puts on a decent show, he'd probably pay them to release it. I think if it was an audio recording of Marla Maples saying he actually was a pretty **** lay and he paid her to say that to the tabloids, he'd probably give away Fort Knox.

Putin upon hearing about the leak: "Piss! Now we lost our leverage."

It's CNN:
"multiple sources tell CNN."
"Sources tell CNN"
"At this point, CNN is not reporting on details of the memos, as it has not independently corroborated the specific allegations. But, in preparing this story, CNN has spoken to multiple high ranking intelligence, administration, congressional and law enforcement officials, as well as foreign officials and others in the private sector with direct knowledge of the memos."
"Spokespeople for the FBI and the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment. Officials who spoke to CNN declined to do so on the record given the classified nature of the material."
"One high level administration official told CNN"

Let me know when a valid news outlet, that doesn't refer back to CNN, reports on it. CNN is right down there with Breitbart on the credibility meter.
