Intel chiefs presented Trump with claims of Russian efforts to compromise him

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

You're right. This story is a non starter.

There still are hyper-partisan morons running around all willy-nilly with claims and *supporting evidence* that Barrack Obama is a Muslim.

and, no doubt, there will continue to be people claiming that the Russians are blackmailing Trump. Maybe they will claim he is a Russian when the truth is he's just Putin's choice for US president.

Putin also preferred Obama over Romney.

This is what the media wants us to believe about Trump:

LOL!! If this were a movie, it would bomb because it's totally ridiculous.

The 'anonymous' source is 52 year old Christopher Steele, an ex MI6 officer who lives in Surrey. He runs a company called Nobis Business Intelligence Ltd and was paid to produce a 'revealing' report on Trump. It is a pretty shoddy job - I hope the buyer/s didn't part with too much cash. I don't think McCane is particularly rich.

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

So a lot of media outlets have sat on this since fall, Hillary had this information and never used it.
Why?
Because the information is not credible, there is no evidence for it.
There are so many red flags about this, that you true believers better pray that it's true.

If not, it's your PizzaGate.
The story I got was that they briefed Trump on it but didn't tell him they thought it was true. They presented it as an example of the lies and misinformation that're out there.

Even if it were true, one would think that liberals would be thrilled to find that Trump is so sexually liberated.

In any case, his supporters stopped believing anything insiders and elites say about Trump. This won't matter. I guarantee that nobody to the right of Meryl Streep cares. It might come as a watershed moment for the MSM, though.
That would be the same story I got: and posted. The other part of the Briefing to the 'top 10' got last week, "Uncorroborated." One can find these allegations on the net at least as early as last fall, and circulating before that. Not a story until Intelligence agencies did some checking, and felt it necessary to tell the candidates, as they were familiar with the source: a former MI6 guy with a good record. And not all of it has been shown inaccurate.

On MSNBC this morning they refuted what you both were told. They said in speaking to intelligence people Trump was NOT told about the two page summary. Also they dod not leave him anything to read. I doubt if MSNBC is considered a right wing outlet.

Yes thanks.
I just found that out. Have been away from machine since last night.
So apparently they Had the 2 page document with them, should it be needed, but didn't show it to him. I would call that a slight miscommunication, not 'fake news'.
The rest, about the 2-party-opposition research MI6 guy etc, is true, if Not the content.

My Apologies for my replies to those I responded to tonight.
I hadn't seen this AM's news (MSNBC, etc), just a small snip of the Press conference after the fact.

It is my understanding that the intelligence folks also stated that they did NOT talk about the two page summay with Trump.

Not sure who is right on this part between CNN & MSNBC.

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

Because that is classified information that was leaked.

My understanding is that several news outlets had the report but didn't publish for lack of corroboration. We'd have to know how it was leaked and to who. If Buzzfeed just jumped the gun and published without verification, and said it was unverified, all they're guilty of is sensationalist yellow journalism. Not even 'fake news' (I'm learning to hate that term) if they admitted that it was all allegations.
Me, all I ask of the news is that I be entertained. For information I come here.

"Not a story until Intelligence agencies did some checking, and felt it necessary to tell the candidates"
President-elect Donald Trump was not told about unverified reports that Russia has compromising information on him during last week's intelligence briefing, according to a senior intelligence official with knowledge of preparations for the briefing.
A summary of the unverified reports was prepared as background material for the briefing, but not discussed during the meeting, the official said. During Trump's press conference Wednesday morning, the president-elect said he was made aware of the information "outside that meeting."
Donald Trump Wasn'''t Told About Unverified Russia Memo, Official Says - NBC News

"as they were familiar with the source: a former MI6 guy with a good record. And not all of it has been shown inaccurate."
The memos detailing them, released by Buzzfeed shortly after CNN’s story broke, came not from the intelligence community itself but from a person claiming to be a former operative with the British intelligence service MI6 who compiled them “over a period of months” while conducting opposition research on behalf of Trump’s political rivals, both Republican and Democrat. That material from the former MI6 official may not be all of what the intelligence agencies have; the “compromising” information about President-elect Trump that “Russian operatives” reportedly claim to possess may not be what they actually possess; and what they actually possess may not be completely, or even partially, true.
https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2017/01/trump-dossier-intelligence/512792/

There is literally no evidence on offer in these memos or from BuzzFeed that any single sentence in these documents is factual or true. What’s more, we know most major news organizations in America had seen them and despite their well-known institutional antipathy toward Trump, had chosen not to publish them or even make reference to them after efforts to substantiate their charges had failed.
BuzzFeed tells us that “the document was prepared for political opponents of Trump by a person who is understood to be a former British intelligence agent.” Indeed, the memos are designed to read as though they were cables sent from the field to the home office. And they should set off the bull detector of every rational person who reads them.

I hate to say "told ya so", just sayin.

"I told you so" is inappropriate after my post on the last page, AND in light of the best possible knowledge on things I posted before New developments.

Your predictions are BS compared to any credible MSM News org.
In fact, you went Dead SILENT after I responded with the WSJ in my #104:

Dead Silent.
UNanswered.

So you FOLDED before you "told me so".
:^)
So now you're Flip-Flopping in light of New info. But one can only go with the best info at the time, especially in 'Breaking News'.
I presented CNN/WSJ, you posted you.

It's still NOT 100% Clear how much of the "2 page " document was/is true or not, Except that [Trump's] Micheal Cohen was Not in Prague.
And despite the NBC report, it's also not 100% Clear if the "10" were merely made aware of the "2 page" document alone/existence, or the nature/details of it's specific contents, or both/neither.

It's like you [blindly] root for, ie, the Steelers every week, you're gonna win a few times. Me? I don't root, I go with the best info available.

Here is my response to your #108 post:
I told you that I don't trust CNN. I don't believe CNN when they have actual sources. I sure as hell am not going to believe them when they have unnamed anon sources. We were told that the FBI and CIA did an investigation and discovered that the Russians hacked the DNC server. Then we find out that the FBI never looked at the server. Why would the DNC not let the FBI look at the server if this was such an important issue? Why would the FBI and the CIA say they had done an investigation when they never looked at the server? Something isn't adding up here. CNN isn't the answer. I don't know what to believe so I am not going to believe anything until all this garbage lines up.
I didn't "go silent" as your obviously posting nonsense. Your post is #108. My response to your post is #134. Usually 108 is before 134. It isn't my responsibility to babysit your reading habits. That means that all that other babble that you posted was pretty much crap. I didn't fold. You proceeded with your theory in the thread. I rebutted your post (#253) with a post (#264) and you posted the nonsense in this post.

Now that we got all of that straight do you have a calm and intelligent response to my post (#264)?

Edit:
I just read the last page. I give you credit for honesty. Good on ya for that. My statement about our posts and not going silent still stands.

It seems that CNN was CORRECT in reporting that Trump was Briefed on the 2 page report: the essence of the CNN story. And CNN has stood by it.

Clapper issued statement tonight.
This from the Conservative Washington Times.
James Clapper calls Donald Trump over Russia briefing leaks - Washington Times

The U.S. intelligence community has not authenticated the 35-page dossier circulating on the Internet purporting to contain damaging information on President-elect Donald Trump, the director of national intelligence said in a statement Wednesday night.

James R. Clapper, the director, said he spoke with Mr. Trump earlier in the evening and assured him the document was not produced by his agencies, nor have they deemed the information reliable.

He did, however, seem to confirm that Mr. Trump was briefed on the existence of the document last week — which would corroborate at least part of a CNN report.

“The IC has not made any judgment that the information in this document is reliable, and we did not rely upon it in any way for our conclusions. However, part of our obligation is to ensure that policymakers are provided with the fullest possible picture of any matters that might affect national security,” Mr. Clapper said.
He also said he “expressed my profound dismay” to Mr. Trump about the leaks that enabled the reporting. "We both agreed that they are extremely corrosive and damaging to our national security,” Mr. Clapper’s statement said about his conversation with Mr. Trump.

CNN did not make claims as to veracity, just that they were briefed. (see my last)
And again, it seems, that IS/was true.
It is certainly NOT "Fake News". The only possible misunderstanding being whether DNI had the document to present in case, or more fully briefed on it.
You Making CNN into some kind of Fake News Bogeyman (earlier posts) is completely partisan.
Unlike Faux News, CNN virtually always has (blond) Trump reps on in every hour of Prime time.

and lost in all this is Trump FINALLY admitting the DNC hack was probably Russia, after living in another of his Deluded Conspiracy Theories for months. In fact, his baffling Russia-Friendly positions are what gave the story more believability. No one could understand his Man-Crush on the basis of reason.
But he did sleazily Pivot into making CNN the bogeyman. Nice misdirection/deflection. Now it's quite secondary.

Here are a few examples why I don't trust anything from CNN:
CNN needs to stop deceptively editing videos | Washington Examiner
Take the recent examples of CNN. The network has now twice edited videos to create alternate narratives in regards to the recent shootings of two different black men by cops.

Just this week, the pro-police group Blue Lives Matter charged that the network deceptively edited video of the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott. The full video, taken by his wife Rakeyia, featured officers repeatedly telling Scott to "drop the gun." In the video aired on CNN, no such demands were shown.

"The editing was clearly intended to give viewers the impression that Scott wasn't armed. By intentionally excluding information to promote the false narrative that the officer-involved shooting of Keith Scott was unjustified, CNN directly contributed towards inciting violence and destruction in the Charlotte riots," the group said in a statement.

CNN edits out Clinton reference to NY explosion as 'bombing' | TheHill
CNN edited out the opening sentence of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's statement during breaking news coverage of an explosion in New York City that injured 29 people.

Clinton was on board her campaign plane Saturday night when she addressed the press following the explosion in New York's Chelsea neighborhood.

According to an ABC News transcript below, Clinton called the attacks in New York and New Jersey "bombings" before criticizing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump — who also referred to the explosion as a "bomb" — in an attempt to show contrast between the temperament of the two candidates, who are deadlocked in the polls

CNN edits Donald Trump tweet referencing 'Crooked Hillary' Clinton - Washington Times
Even when CNN was presenting Donald Trump’s own words, some at the network tried Monday to make sure to edit disrespectful references to Hillary Clinton.

In a tweet Sunday night, the Republican presidential nominee called on Mrs. Clinton to release her full medical records in response to speculation, which Mr. Trump has fueled, about the former first lady’s health.

“I think that both candidates, Crooked Hillary and myself, should release detailed medical records. I have no problem in doing so! Hillary?” Mr Trump tweeted.

However when CNN reported on the issue Monday, the network flashed a graphic representation that looked like, but wasn’t, Mr. Trump’s tweet. There was also a word removed.

“…both candidates, Hillary and myself, should release …” CNN’s image read.

The tweet was shown in its unedited form on the CNN website and a spokesman for the network acknowledged to The Hill on Monday afternoon that “the tweet should have been shown in its entirety.”

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

Senators most likely...since they're the ones that saw the intel report

Do you understand 'analytic confidence"?

In an effort to apply more rigorous standards to National Intelligence Estimates, the National Intelligence Council includes explanations of the three levels of analytic confidence made in estimative statements.[1]

High confidence generally indicates judgments based on high-quality information, and/or the nature of the issue makes it possible to render a solid judgment. However, high confidence judgments still carry a risk of being wrong.

Moderate confidence generally means credibly sourced and plausible information, but not of sufficient quality or corroboration to warrant a higher level of confidence.[1]

Low confidence generally means questionable or implausible information was used, the information is too fragmented or poorly corroborated to make solid analytic inferences, or significant concerns or problems with sources existed.[1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analytic_confidence

The intel agencies have "high confidence" the information in the intel report is accurate. I don't know if the two page dossier about Trump that was attached to the report was given analytical confidence...except to say that Trump isn't denying that the Russians did the hacking, anymore.

Oh so because they say so..... thats what it comes down to. Meanwhile there is a clear hostility between the cia, democrats, the media and trump.

The cia is most likely leaking **** to the press, the deep state is clearly at war with trump. Much to this countries detriment. No matter what you think of trump. This unelected government body's unchecked power should scare the **** out of you.

Clapper just issued an apology to Trump that verifies the entirety of the CNN report was indeed bull****.

Re: Russian hackers claim to have compromising information on Trump - CNN

Let's look at the details of some of these crazy allegations:

https://www.buzzfeed.com/kenbensinger/these-reports-allege-trump-has-deep-ties-to-russia

However, there were other aspects to TRUMP's engagement with the Russian authorities. One which had borne fruit for them was to exploit TRUMP's personal obsessions and sexual perversion in order to obtain suitable 'kompromat' (compromising material) on him. According to Source D, where s/he had been present, TRUMP's (perverted) conduct in Moscow included hiring the Presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, where he knew President and Mrs OBAMA (whom he hated) had stayed on one of their official trips to Russia, and defiling the bed where they had slept by employing a number of prostitutes to perform a 'golden showers' (urination) show in front of him. The hotel was known to be under FSB control with microphones and concealed cameras in all the main rooms to record anything they wanted to.

Uhhh, are you kidding me? Trump didn't like Mr & Mrs Obama, so he went to the hotel room they stayed in, and paid a bunch of hookers to piss on him?

WTF kind of "intelligence" is this?

Sorry, but this is FAKE beyond belief, and just NUTTY as hell. Politics has gone to the dogs.

"Mr President-elect, I'm afraid we have some pictures of you being urinated on by hookers - please examine Exhibit A on my powerpoint slide. We're concerned that the Russians may try and blackmail you over this. Sir, I'm going to advise you that it's not too late to resign. We at the CIA are more than happy to activate our counter-response team to render Photoshop pictures of Putin in women's underwear bound-and-gagged. All we require is your signature ceding command authority to us."

Polish vodka is really good if you want an alternative.
In fact Russia imports a ton of polish vodka.
