Inauguration announcer on being cut by Trump: 'I thought I was going to commit[W:320]

Re: Inauguration announcer on being cut by Trump: 'I thought I was going to commit su

Yeah but Trump's still classless, boorish and socially retarded. Would you do that by e-mail? Or send someone to thank him and explain?

Depends on what is convenient for me at the moment, but yeah I probably would.

In others words act like this job is an entitlement, and that Trump is denying him what is rightfully his.

Trump is already cutting back entitlements.

By bringing his son-in-law into the Whitehouse? Sounds like an entitlement to me:roll:

#notmypresident

What country are you a citizen of since it is not the USA obviously?

Re: Inauguration announcer on being cut by Trump: 'I thought I was going to commit su

What does Donald Trumps wig and a thong have in common? They both barely cover the asshole.

You guys don't even want to know what other images came up while I was looking for something like this.

Re: Inauguration announcer on being cut by Trump: 'I thought I was going to commit su

It's a traditional job he has held once every four years for six decades. It isn't a cabinet post, it isn't a partisan position, it's a tradition.

The man had just lost his wife, for heaven sake! Preparing for this inauguration was the only thing that kept him going through the grief. Then he gets an e-mail ten days away from the big day, and he's just... fired.

He's 89 years old. How many more inaugurations could he have had anyway? What a crappy, sleazy thing to do to an old man who had taken such pride in this accomplishment, only to be swept aside and dismissed so one of Trump's cronies could have the honor.

I repeat... **** Donald Trump.

A place where the second-place finisher is awarded the top prize.

Re: Inauguration announcer on being cut by Trump: 'I thought I was going to commit su

It surprises me none that we are told that this gig should be considered an entitlement.

This is where victim culture ends up.

Well, who has said that? No one on this thread that I've seen. I'm fine with replacing him, just thought it was a classless way to do it.

The very old man is clearly very disappointed, but I don't think he even said he was "entitled" to the job (can't tell, the ****ty CNN website crashes on my computer - worse than the Moonie Times).

It is, Presidents are entitled to the advisers of their choosing almost without exception.

Like JasperL said, it's about respect for others. Some have it, some don't. It's one of those things that stands out, though, and shows your quality.

Re: Inauguration announcer on being cut by Trump: 'I thought I was going to commit su

Every time trumpgate pulls one of these stunts, he has a net loss of votes in 2020 and further imperils his house, state legislatures and governors in 2020 .

Another net loss of votes for trump and his deflectors with nepotism.

How many ****ups for trumpistan today ?

Yes, advisors, not true if he were made the head of an agency, thankfully he did not go that far. Now the tricky question, what experience does he have to qualify as an advisor to the President of the United States of America?

Pay attention. Reply to what I wrote, not what you wish I'd written because it's easier that way.

My beef isn't that he was let go but how i8t was done.
Face it- your boy hasn't got a nickel's worth of class, for all his phantom billions.

Typical victim culture nonsense....

Here is more:
"I looked at at my email, then I got the shock of my life," Brotman told CNN's Carol Costello. "I felt like Muhammad Ali had hit me in the stomach."
Brotman, who has been the announcer at presidential inauguration for sixty years, said when he read the email from the Trump transition team he thought he "was going to commit suicide."

One should never assume that they have a job till someone who matters tells them that they have a job.

Right, expecting the POTUS to show the barest of courtesy to an old man who's been doing the job for 60 years is just ONE STEP TOO FAR. F*** the old man! If Dear Leader fired him by emai, by god firing him by email was the RIGHT thing to do. All Hail Dear Leader!

I'm with you here. After sixty years he deserved to be told in person.

Calling the President Elect names on social media seems rather classless, boorish, and socially retarded, too, but lots of people do it.

Re: Inauguration announcer on being cut by Trump: 'I thought I was going to commit su

Honestly, can a Trump supporter say the man should have been treated with greater empathy and respect, even if it was absolutely Trump’s right to replace him? Or is this what a they mean by making America Great Again? We treat some of the people who love our country and traditions the most like they aren't worth dirt?

There's a way out of this. Maybe President Obama can set up a "Beer Summit."

Sorta like Obama has treated our veterans, but, like whatever.

So...your argument is Obama treated patriotic Americans badly so Trump should treat other patriotic Americans badly?

Yeah...whatever. Making America Great Again by doing the things you accused others of doing.

Great. Here's a guy who just lost his wife a few weeks ago, and says preparing for this inauguration was all that was keeping him going, then he receives an email... a ****ing email... firing him after 60 years of service.

And why? So that one of Trump's loyal supporters could have the job. Welcome to the Make America Great Again world... if you're one of Trump's buddies. If you're not.. "You're Fired."

**** Trump. This isn't reality tv. This was a real person, whose life was dismissed without a second thought. What a despicably sleazy thing to do.

Greetings, DiAnna. :2wave:

This was an extraordinarily cruel thing to do to an old man, IMO. Granted, Brotman didn't have a contract or anything, but he has been doing this since Eisenhower, so why would he not expect to do this inauguration also? Was any explanation given to Brotman by whoever did this? At 89 years of age, this would have probably been the last time he could have served as inauguration announcer, so I don't understand the reason this was done. Hopefully this was an error made by an underling, which will be corrected by Kellyanne Conway, Trump's top counselor, who seems to be one of the few who understands how average everyday people think about things!

When did Obama ever mistreat veterans? You could make the case for Hilary certainly, but everyone I know who personally interacted with Obama said he was very respectful and sometimes even humble to meet with the troops
