Macy's is closing 68 stores, cutting 10,000 jobs

True, however Amazon does sell clothing that is not produced from slave labor. 80% of what I wear is made either in the US or Europe by reputable manufactures with ethical standards.

I'm sure Macy's has a few items made or assembled in the US as well - they're both supporting slave labor is the point... not just Macy's or other dept. stores.

When Macy's tried to politically assassinate Trump the way they did, I had my wife cut up her Macy's card. She is not into politics, but she has not shopped there ever since. She just shops at other high end retailers. We also got our older kids who are out of the house now, agree to not shop there any more either. I have discouraged as many people as possible from shopping there.

Wow you must really really like the Don.

Too many people with no money in their pocket looking to do anything but shop.

How do know that they have no money in their pockets? Are you a mall security guard?

This is what they deserve for cutting the Trump clothing line. I bet they have their regrets. To hell with them. I've refused to shop there ever since they cut ties with Trump and many Trump supporters have been quietly doing the same. That's the thing about boycotts. You don't make a big stink about it. JUST DO IT.

So are you still buying your clothes at Lane Bryant?

well, well, well, just look at you and the little wifey

NOW I am beginning to understand your vibe

Mr. Trump's minion and the little wifey totally under your control right along with the kiddies...who are essentially "controlled adults"

I have totally got your mysogynistic, right wing, control freak stance, you are crystal clear

it will be far easier to reply to you now

yes, there is a certain piece of your populace that is "the boss" just like "the Trump"

Thanks for the laugh, I like your sense of humor. You are mocking those lefty snowflakes and how they completely overreact to the smallest thing. You are probably right though, that there are some lefties out there who could actually take a simple thing like having the person in the family who did the majority of the Macy's shopping cut up her card and boycott that store, and elevate it to how I am a misogynist, a control freak, and whatever else you joked about. Family unity is something that lefties really despise, so uniting our family against a cause that is important to me would certainly be something that a lefty would come unglued over. My guess is that it would be my wife calling me a misogynist though, if I requested that she boycott the Coach store. There are plenty of comparable stores to Macy's, but she really likes her Coach store.

Macy's inc is the holding company and they spent more on stores like Bloomidales than the should have. Last year they closed 100 of stores as well.

And this is a shock, they were not expected to go the way of Monkey Wards, KMart, Sears and JCP.....but here they are.

Nobody is too confident about where the bloodletting ends either.

Americans have changed our spending patterns.

To a degree we have not seen in a long time.

Strap yourself in.

Velocity Ahead.

Macy's has always been a kind of glorified PayLess anyway. The clientele in most areas has taken on a more urban character in some places and the prices have dropped to accommodate them, so the money just really isn't there anymore. They were sued by the state of New York for false imprisonment: they have an over the top security guard (asset protection) division that hand cuffs and attaches them to a mounted steel bar on a bench. Macy's has been in nothing but trouble with the National Labor Relations Boars as well as their management has taken on a more predatory attitude. This has been going on for quite a while now, so I'm not surprised. They'll end up with the New York store ad a few sprinkled in the larger cities, but the neighborhood mall Macy's will become a thing of the past.

Glad that you were entertained by my post. I am not in the least surprised at your reaction. Now I know where you are coming from I could practically have written parts of it for you.

Coach rocks, your wife has good taste ... in somethings anyway. ;)

I don't know what Lane Bryant is...I get my clothes from American Apparel. I'd love to get my clothes from Trump's line but he's got that China thing going on.

Thanks Trump

Looks like Obama's economic recovery is a complete success. I wonder what happened to all that money he embezzled from us in the early days of his first "successful 4 years?" Man, those "shovel ready" jobs are really paying off now. Thanks Barack!

Coach is probably the common thing for misogynists to treat their wives too. The real misogynist knows to shop for gifts in the actual store, and then make the wifey shop in the outlets. There are probably a lot of women that would feel sorry for my wife if they knew she had to get her Coach stuff in the outlets.

So unfortunate. This happens so often right after a Christmas. Sad.

im thinking I did 90% of my shopping on Amazon and other online retailers. Just so darned easy.

Me too. I used to do most of my shopping at Macys because their prices were good, return policy easy, and the quality was there. But the last few years I buy almost everything online, either through Amazon or at stores I have to hike to get to like Nordstrom.

This is actually a very sad situation. Macys has been an American icon for so long.

no, just sorry for your wife that you view her shopping as a treat as well as instructing her what cards she can cut up and where she can shop

nobody tells me how to spend money...ever

this whole thing went right over your head

I'm out :peace

continue on with your forum: I hate lefties rant

What a stupid post. I've bought dozens of Coach bags in a Coach outlet here in New Hampshire, saved a lot of money, and gotten the same thing idiots pay top dollar for in the "actual store".

Yea, the thought of shopping at Coach could be a treat! What a ridiculous thought! I must be a misogynist for sure. And the thought that we would make money decisions as a couple- I should have just bought my last car without discussing it it with her, right?

I somehow doubt that Macy's sales are off by enough to result in them closing 68 stores because they no longer are selling Trump ties.
