Buffalo School Board votes 6-2 in favor of ousting Paladino

Good thing you live in Tampa !

In Trumpland Manatee County where I have a homestead, the School Board would give Paladino a welcoming parade, each member lining up at a chance to kiss both his cheeks and swear their loyalty to their new Godfather.

www.nytimes.com/2016/12/29/nyregion...lo-school-board-demands-resignation.html?_r=0

Carl Paladino plans to fight the effort to oust him from the School Board ... calling the effort politically motivated and to expect a combative year.

Two Questions - Do you think Paladino finishes his current School Board term? Would you want him as a School Board member for your children?

I predict he does not finish his term. I would not want him as a School Board member for my children.

I don't see where politics should decide this matter. To say that the action to fire the Board member in question is political, is irrelevant. It is beyond politics. Those who carry out a political agenda doesn't matter. Whatever your reason to condemn Paladino, he deserves it.

Got a more reliable source? The one you gave is about as partisan as it gets.

Yea i'm not sure he's a racist, he only wishes that Michelle lives with a gorilla. You're what's wrong with this country.

Because you see, calling for "White Genocide" is in alignment with the excessive PC idiocy, liberal / progressive ideology and tolerated

You mean like this?

Is that bold part there directed at me or are you paraphrasing Paladino?

Kal, remember that time you tried to claim that some NYC Jews were an anti-white hate group because they curated a photo gallery on white supremacy? Didn't you learn not to play the 'this is' and 'this isn't' racist game then? It's not a fun game to play because they just make whatever is lurking behind that forum handle a little more obvious. Anywho:

Paladino said:
Michelle Obama. I'd like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.

Please tell me which part of these sentences you would be fine saying in public to a group while pointing at a black woman.

Don't worry, I'll wait.

:)

Yes, I remember, and I also remember being shown that I was wrong in that case. However this is a completely different case. One comment about two people does not make one a racist. Which is why I asked for a history of such behavior. Racism is about hating a group of people based on their skin color. Not one or two people who are disliked. And you've got to admit, lots of people do not like Obama or his wife. Many (I'd say a majority) do not like them because of their policies and/or their attitudes and couldn't give a flick about their skin color. I know that for over 8 years now people have claimed that those that don't like those two just don't like them because of their skin color, but that is nothing more than a meme. A way for the Left to dismiss those that are against Obama's policies and politics. I'm not saying that there are not people out there that do not like them because of their skin color. There are racists out there after all. But in this particular case, one comment about two people does not equal racism. Poor taste. Stupidity. Yes. But not racism. So, why don't you do what you did in that thread here in this thread. Prove that Paladino is a racist. The only way to do that is to show racist history towards a whole group. Not just idiotic commentary about two people. As I did in that other thread, if I am proven wrong then I will admit it. You know I will. I've already proven that myself in that other thread.

As for what I would say in public, no I wouldn't say that in public. But then I'm not prone to making stupid comments in public. ;) Nor am I likely ever going to since I'm not in the public spotlight. Plus I wouldn't have even thought to make that kind of comment since my insults are rather blasé since I don't think about skin color or gender when insulting people.

You should have really stopped here. You should have.

I asked you a genuine question: Would you walk up to a group of black people, say Paladino's words, and replace it with a black woman that they know (to ensure familiarity - and not total randomness) and feel totally comfortable that their first reaction would have no association with racism? Please pick a group of black people from ANYWHERE in the world, where you do not think your words would be associated with some sort of racism.

Let me guess, brainwashed black people fooled into believing something that benefits the left?

Go on. Dive deeper.

I don't care what a group of people think. At one point in our history a group of people thought it was OK to enslave a bunch of people and treat others like dirt. Doesn't mean that they were right. All I care about is facts. And fact is, one comment directed at two disliked people does not make a person racist. One comment directed at a group of people based on their skin color does make a person racist. A consistent history of such comments (whether its directed at specific individuals or groups of people) also makes one a racist. Does Paladino have a history of this behavior? Yes or no? Argumentum ad populum fallacies does not impress me.

I don't care what a group of people think.

Why should anybody even pretend to want to show you what is and isn't racist then? You're clearly unwilling to accept that something is racist even when the people who it has been directed at are telling you it's just one more example of it. This absurd cognitive dissonance exhibited in posts asking for the racist statement to be shown only to then say you don't care that black people find it racist is pretty crazy, don't you think? It just makes the connection with the previous discussion justified.

This conversation ties marvelously into that discussion on what you think is and isn't racist. Back then, you did not realize your position looked really bad. You know, a random internet guy constantly complaining about the plight of the white man accusing the NYC Community College Lawyers of being against white people. Now, I'm not so sure you didn't see your position looked bad and went for it anyways then just pretended to have been shown wrong.

Then you simply were unwilling to accept that a group of largely Polish-Lithuanian and German Jews were not part of some anti-white hate group. Now, you ask for what is and isn't racist, then determine it doesn't matter whether the people making the claim think it is racist. Why? Because you simply do not care about these minute details like how we determine something is racist. Back then, it was because it didn't matter that a group invested in cataloguing anti-Jewish atrocities would have a gallery curated around specific groups of people who follow the damn Nazis.

I refuse to believe that these kinds of bull**** positions you take aren't legitimately thought out and it's time to for you to give up the act. There is absolutely no way you don't see just how silly it is to ask 'Hey show me what black people find racist, what do you find racist?' and then go 'I don't care if black people think it's racist'.

In short, your positions on race at their only glance are like this:

1. You don't care about what black people find racist.
2. You proudly declared what you found racist, and defended it until another poster (moi) destroyed your position.

Again, you're willing to go out on a limb and complain about the groups that you think are racist, like the Jews. Then you tell us you DO NOT CARE about the pretty clear fact that if you said what Palladino sai about any black woman a black man know, he'd probably find you to be a racist asshole at the very least. But then will come on this forum, and complain about the anti-white Jews?

Is this what I am to take from my exchanges with you, Kal?

REALLY?

I never said that the comment wasn't racist. I said that it, by itself, doesn't make the person racist. Do you know the difference? It takes more than one comment directed at two disliked people to make a person racist. Can you show that Paladino has a history of such behavior? Yes or no? I've asked this question several times now and you continue to ignore it.

Rest of your post is just rehashing an old thread that is dead and buried. As such I'll not respond to it any longer. Particularly since it has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Hm, so you would be comfortable in saying this same statement to a group of black people in some other context?
I love context. In what context would you be fine talking about sending a black woman back to Africa, setting her free and letting her live with a gorilla.

You seem to be splitting a lot of hairs on this case. I doubt Palladino is out burning crosses, but the guy is a racist. People don't come up with kind of **** as funny e-mail jokes to tell their coworkers without thinking about thinking about whether they'd laugh at it first. This guy knew this kind of joke was acceptable to people in his inside circle, not his outside circle which is why he IMMEDIATELY talked about his FW vs. RE screw-up.

Again, how is somebody who can't be older than 35 not seeing just how bizarre their position looks in light of all the evidence? You don't care about what black people think is racist. You think NYC Jews are out to get white people. You want some noticeable difference in saying racist **** and actually being racist as if every supporter of Jim Crowe was out there burning churches or some ****.

Again, why should I take you seriously given just how transparent your position on race actually is? If you're not going to do anything other than engage in intellectual chicken games, why not just answer the question in bold?

Would you be comfortable saying this to a group of imaginary black "friends" in an argument?

A racist wishes ill on other races than his own....can you prove that this guy does in fact....not playing around letting off stem like he was here but for reals.

Can you?

A racist wishes ill on other races than his own.

I don't really give too much of a **** about your fortune cookie sized slogans on what a racist is and isn't. If it were as dumbed down as you think it is, W.E.B. DuBois wouldn't really have needed to get that doctorate.

Please move along, I don't have time for Navy Pride derivatives.

Sounds like a no.

No proof means you loose the argument.

Ye charge then Ye need to prove.

We seem to be done here.

This was too easy.

It sounds like you've been dismissed because I do not really care to waste bandwidth of a guy defining 'racism' with half a sentence that isn't even in the dictionary with those absurdly dramatic words. I don't think you understand just how little pathos adds to an internet persona.

With new year arriving, I am feeling generous so I will ask you: Are you comfortable telling a group of black people how you'd want a black woman to be sent to turn into a man, and be with its ape mate?

Tell me how comfortable you'd be and what how the context of that conversation would be set up.

I already have answered your question in bold. You however have yet to answer mine.

Plain fact of the matter is that many insults said are said on the fly and are thought up right on the spot. The severity of it is usually based upon their relative anger at the time they said it. Believe it or not most people do not sit around thinking up insults for the fun of it. You might, most people I know don't.

Now, are you going to answer my question or are you going to continue to ignore it? Can you show that Paladino has a history of such behavior? Yes or no?

That's not how this works.

You admit that you lost the last argument before we start a new one.

I already have answered your question in bold. You however have yet to answer mine.

Kal, I asked you whether you'd be up for doing what Palladino did to a group of your imaginary black friends you have. I didn't ask you whether you found it racist. After I found out you thought the Jewish Anti-Def. League was a hate group, you know - those big nerdy ass Jews from the East coast - I seriously stopped caring about what you found racist because your position on race became far more obvious than the subtle little hints you drop every now and then. I do mean subtle.

Anyways, this is all part of the cognitive dissonance I was getting at earlier. It doesn't matter what black people find racist, so why are you engaging in this game where you pretend to care about what a bi-racial person's answers will be? You don't care about the opinion of black people anyways as far as it concerns what is and isn't racist. If you don't care about what blacks find racist, then why would you ask one about whether they think a racist comment defines a person as racist person?

The whole thing is a pretty silly exercise on your part and a perfect illustration of the kinds of hoops you jump through to make yourself seem less obvious. Keep telling yourself you answered my question, maybe if you say it enough times it'll come true.

That... is... not... how this works? Excuse me? I don't think you understood that I don't argue against fortune cookie slogans that aren't even in a dictionary.

When I decide I will argue with fortune cookie slogans by internet posters, I'll probably become a Trump voter.

Are you... unclear ... or?

Oy vey, this guy. Again, I don't care about your fortune cookie approach to what is and isn't racist. That doesn't mean an argument is lost, it means I am dismissing you as I search for somebody a little bit more suitable to debating complex topics beyond fortune cookie definitions.

I get you confused with you and the ORLY guy. Which one of you was it thought he had the personal mind connection beaming down from Trump?
