The United States expelled 35 Russian diplomats and closed two Russian compounds in New York and Maryland in response to a campaign of harassment against American diplomats in Moscow, a senior U.S. official said on Thursday.

The move against the diplomats from the Russian embassy in Washington and consulate in San Francisco is part of a series of actions announced on Thursday to punish Russia for a campaign of intimidation of American diplomats in Moscow and interference in the U.S. election.

The Obama administration was also announcing on Thursday a series of retaliatory measures against Russia for hacking into U.S. political institutions and individuals and leaking information to help President-elect Donald Trump and other Republican candidates, two U.S. officials said. U.S. expels 35 Russian diplomats, closes two compounds: official | Reuters

President Obama said he would retaliate at a time of our choosing, and now he has. Good for him.

It pisses me off that slimy KGB Putin was messing with our election and people on the right were eating the propaganda as the God's truth.
 
The Russian Governments supposed influence has yet to be proven and the Democrats cant blame themselves for this loss, oh hell no.

And Obama had nothing to do with the loss of over a 1000 Democrat seats since 2010....nope.

He's Obama for Christ sake !

It's good that he's taking action, but it doesn't actually say what action he's taking in retaliation for the cyber attacks. The expulsion of the diplomats appears to be in response to the harassment of US diplomats in Moscow.

No one' offered up a ounce of proof that Putin was " messing with our election "

Hillary clinton did far more damage tovher campaign leaa the Wiki lthks emails.

Turns out Obama just cant accept that e had anything to do with this loss so, blame Putin and hope the useful idiots will buy it.

Obama had said that some of the action was going to be "covert", and would not be made public. I can just see the guys at the Russian Defense Ministry walking in to work this morning, turning on their computer, and having a picture of the "V for Vendetta" guy open up on their screen, with a message underneath, saying:

Greetings from President Obama. He wants to know if you are having a good day today... because you won't be from now on....

Bwahahahahaha!

So is this action by Obama because of "a campaign of harassment against American diplomats in Moscow" and he's dressing it up as a response to alleged election hacking?

That seems kinda dishonest of Obama, not that I would put it past him to do so. I mean, he's just been so honest about everything else, right?

Any why now, all of a sudden? Could it have something to do with: Obama under pressure to prove Russian interference in election ?

Has anyone heard of any presentation by any intelligence agencies the proof of this election hacking before the appropriate congressional oversight committees? I haven't.
 
Good to see we're finally standing up to the Russia-Israel axis. I just hope he doesn't start a war before he leaves office.

For Obama, its ALWAYS about politics. He had more provocation with Crimea and the Ukraine, but when his side of political aisle takes hit because the worst parts of their natures are revealed, its payback time. He's revealing what a truly hollow suit he really is.

And you base your intelligence, upon what? What superior sources do you have over the FBI, CIA. DHS, etc.?
