Tesla, Panasonic Agree to Make PV Cells in Buffalo[W:228]

Re: Tesla, Panasonic Agree to Make PV Cells in Buffalo

True. I don't think anyone could argue otherwise.

But that doesn't really answer the question. The definition of "Landslide" is, IMO, subjective.

Somewhat, yes, but let's try to put some markers on it.

Let's say this. Break top 10 in the EC, we can talk about landslide. Pair a top 10 EC with a top 10 Popular, and we're almost assuredly in landslide territory. Which does still leave some wiggle room (for instance, I would still be willing to call Reagan in '80 a landslide, even though his popular vote is only ranked 21st, but neigh +10% on the popular vote is still very significant). But what we can say is a 46th performance in EC and 47th performance in Popular is definitely NOT landslide.

And you guys should accept that for four years you'll probably get similar treatment that you gave Obama for the last eight years.

Politics is a contact sport

Bring it on!

Because in 8 years obama accomplished very little so his apologists were always at a disadvantage

It think trump and his supporters will have more success to crow about than you did

I wonder how many document are being shredded before Trump arrives?

Some obama flunky refused a request to identify EPA employees who worked on climate change projects

Do they think trump can't find out after he takes over next month?

Lots of work. I appreciate the effort. As I stated much earlier, I don't agree with those who have been trying to suggest Trump's victory was a landslide.

However, I do see, in light of the extreme measures involving lies, deceit, fraud and corruption by Hillary, her MSM partners, and the machine working to place her in office, why some would think his victory was.

I think that is probably very small compared to other things that will be found when Trump takes over.

Not if bigger discoveries are numerous and larger.

I think if trump had to do it all by himself then the inquiry about epa employees might be forgotten

But trump is gathering a lot of capable people around him to turn over a lot of stones

I noticed where scientists were happily telling journalists that they were downloading information off of Government computers, which was supposed to give us confidence that the data will not be disappeared, but what it did for me was get me to thinking that maybe under Obama our government has been run even worse than I think if they have that low of confidence in something this basic in good government happening....that information will be preserved. Maybe under Obama this has not been a sure thing.

I'll bet they find numerous disgusting things.

What does that tell you about the security of the computer systems?

It tells me that government insiders claim that they dont trust our government, so why should I?

It also tells me that I made a good call in voting to send them Trump.

Anyways, back to Tesla slopping at the state trough.

Cause thats were all Tesla tales end...

Is Elon Musk a trump supporter?
Did he not suggest a basic income to everyone? Does not sound like he would do anything for or because Trump.

Well, he saw the error of his ways. He was converted to the Church of Trump.

There are legal ways to fire civil service employees

And I hope reducing the EPA is in the works

I agree. But also, what information are they really saving? Afterall, and parers are archived outside of the government.

One should wonder...

I see great possibilities with him. I hope he follows through.

There was no way I was going to vote for the other choice.

Anyways, back to Tesla slopping at the state trough.
Can you blame them for taking freebies?

We need to just stop such things.

Re: Tesla, Panasonic Agree to Make PV Cells in Buffalo

Would they be doing this if Trump was not elected president?

$750,000,000 New York dollars, a snake oil salesman from California, and a "guaranteed" customer (Tesla) say they would. If I were Trump, I think I'd wait to see if this thing actually makes money before taking credit for it. My gut feeling says trying to manufacture solar wafers in upstate New York is a fool's errand. One of two things is going to happen: either the Chinese will steal the technology and replicate these wafers at considerably less cost OR Panasonic will just take it along with its own, similar technology and send production overseas itself, because, when you cut to the chase, you're talking about what is (or will be) a commodity product. This Panasonic/Tesla joint venture reminds me of the Toyota/GM New United Motor Manufacturing joint venture plant in Fremont, California to manufacture "the most fuel-efficient gas car of all time!" (the Geo Prizm/Chevy Nova), which never made a dime and finally had the plug pulled on it few years ago after GM left Toyota holding the bag. (Incidentally, it's also the plant where Tesla can make cars, lose money on every one it sells, and still keep the doors open, thanks to a loan from Uncle Sam, financial incentives from California, and a cult following of investors willing to throw money at it and its "visionary" guru. Thus far, Tesla has been long on promise and short on actual results.)
