Religion Mississippi church member charged in 'Vote Trump' arson

I'm only just now getting into this story, so again...not claiming to know anything. But I didn't see anything about an insurance scam in the article. I google a few other news sources and I didn't see anything about insurance scams there either.

The suspect is a member of the church.

I'm confused. He burned a church down and spraypainted "vote trump" on it but it wasn't politically motivated?

I thought the same thing but then I realized that they are talking about the root motive. The root motive would be money, I guess... either insurance or some GoFundMe scheme or both.

Your point being...?

I doubt he was motivated by President Trump to burn his own church. It's ibecilic to try and claim that this dude burned hos ow church because of President Trump's rhetoric. Moreso to try and spin this guy as some kind of anti-black black dude.

The bottomline is that the narrative soun up by the Left turned out to be, "fake news".

It could have been a hoax used to discredit President Trump. There's a lot of that going on, nowadays.

I doubted my own family would produce a Trump supporter. And yet, we did. Crazy can come out of anywhere.

A sane person is going to burn down their own house to protest Trump?

Would you?

No freakin' idea. Doesn't make sense either way, does it.

Option 1- He's a Trump supporter in a Democratic jurisdiction, a member of a church that supports Clinton. He has a criminal history, he gets pissed one night and decides to make a big statement.

Option 2- He's a Clinton supporter in a Trump state. He gets pissed one night and invents a way to discredit the Trump campaign.

Either one is as likely as the other, and either one is because he's a lowlife criminal. But everyone is free to make all the partisan mileage they can out of the lack of information.

Or, in my opinion, the far more probable option 3:

Guy is an idiot, gets pissed off for some reason, then gets drunk one night. He then vandalizes the church and burns if for reasons that he cant fully explain. Other than being a very nominal member of the democratic party, the guy has no political views and does not really care about any thing outside of his immediate experiences. He could care less who won, or did not win the election. He cant really explain why he painted the political slogan other than "It seemed like the right thing to do at the time".

In short, the guy is just an idiot who takes impulsive, nonsensical criminal actions when angered. After he takes the action, he cant articulate why he did it. Sadly, there are thousands more people like him holding a variety of very nominal socio political views.

It could be, God knows there are been a lot of fake assaults reported to discredit Trump, but I guess the investigation turned up something else.

not to protest President Trump, but possibly to create a false, "racist attack", to discredit President Trump; it's very possible.

Hmm, a surprise arrest that the pastor doesn't hear about til being called for an interview? Listing the man's priors without releasing a possible motive, or even the reason you believe he is guilty? Pretty much the only thing they seem sure it isn't is politically motivated. How they came to that conclusion without interviewing the congregation about the man, or at least his pastor, unless the man confessed. And I always find police coerced confessions suspect, they'll say, do, threaten, and promise anything to get what they want. I'll wait til something along the lines of evidence appears, before I believe anything the press or officials speculate on the subject.

I don't track the KKk at all. You could be right.

Me either. Dave Chapelle is a black comedian, and he did a skit on the KKK with him as a blind member a decade or more ago.

It looks like the church fire was a false flag insurance scam.
