Bill Clinton bashes Trump, blames 'angry white men' and Comey for wife's loss

And people of all persuasions voted for Clinton.

But the average Trump voter was 'white', male, over 45 and without college education.

I am not saying that is good or bad...just sayin'...(hey, I am 'white', male and over 45...though I have been to university - didn't learn much though).

That pretty much looks like working class people, which Clinton ignored or insulted. What is interesting/ironic is that those middle class people without educations make more money than the average Clinton voter.

The information in my hypothetical wasn't wrong. You had no outstanding debts. Yet in my hypothetical your reaction was to run out and buy a yacht. You were not basing your decision on wrong information. Rather, you made a bad decision based on accurate information.

Clinton spent millions on pollsters. Trump relied mostly on one pollster, Conway. Toward the end he bought more polling data from some other companies but not near as much as Clinton did. Clinton should have had a mountain of information to base her campaign on. She ****ed up. It's as simple as that.

To compare field operations, CNBC broke out expenses that are typically devoted to operating and staffing local offices, state by state. Those include spending on rent, payroll, administration, mail marketing, polling and telecommunications.

Age demographics probably explains a big chunk of that; Trump decisively had the support of the older population which can be reasonably expected to be more established in their careers (and thus are making more money), the 35-64 demographic especially.

I remember the entire election cycle, and Trump pandered exclusively to the angry white crowd. Also, the Comey letter was splashed across the front of every news site for a week and Clinton lost three points in that time, which is extraordinary change in polling in such a short time. Clinton is absolutely correct.

Let's not forget Clinton was such a weak candidate as to be within spitting distance of probably the most despised Presidential candidate in history in terms of polling in the first place, and that her terrible judgment (at best) ultimately resulted in the drama with the FBI and Comey.

Pointing fingers ever outward will hinder, not help, the Democratic Party.

One theory is that the polls did a poor job predicting the results because Trump supporters were unpredictably dishonest as they were embarrassed by their support for their candidate:

Speaking for myself, im not the least bit embarassed about voting for trump but i was cautious about openly declaring it in public, because of the rabid reaction to it from the left. Im not interested in a physical confrontation over a political disagreement. People were activly engaged in intimidation tactics and some of us simply excercised our right to anonymity.

Bill is just pissed off that Trump's eldest daughter turned him down for some fun.

There have been so many different explanations for how this happened. I can't argue with the "angry white men," seeing as a pro-Trump poster recently posted some incredibly stupid thing about how The angry white man values the traditions of this nation and blah blah blah. It was copied from some conservative blog.

Trump ran on two issues: Hillary is a criminal and he'd build a wall. Then as soon as he won he walked back on both. He's a liar. We still haven't seen his taxes. Why do angry white people want this? Because they don't read anything that contains facts. It's boring to them. And the ones that do just voted for Trump because they'd vote for any Republican on the ticket, which I can't argue with. I can't argue with either. The odds were actually stacked way against Hillary despite what we hear.

it's amazing they can even read "donald trump" on the ballot to be honest

my theory is they accost liberals who *can* read outside the ballot places and demand to know how many names down is trump's

Can you read this?

President-elect Donald Trump

Together they are smarter than you by a flyover country mile

As far as your lack of participation in the political process since you had no affect on the outcome of the election no one cares what you think about anything now

The 50 million won and their president and congress will run the country for the next four years without you

I voted for the Republican who was running in my Congressional district. He lost, unfortunately. No, I doubt Congress will run the country for the next four years without me. I'm still an American citizen and have no plans to uproot my family to another country. I never thought America ceased being great.

Lots of people care what I think. My husband, my boss, my children, my friends. I'm not worried about some internet stranger not caring about who I voted for.

Yes, everyone who voted for Trump is much smarter than I am. You're so right. Thanks for the personal digs. Very thoughtful of you.

Not entirely accurate. Angry white women helped secure his victory too.

Still not entirely accurate. Apathetic African Americans and Hispanics, as well as angry ones, also helped him secure his victory to by coming out in greater numbers for him than they did in Romney while coming out in sizably smaller numbers for Hillary than they did Obama. Either of those two things change, and he potentially loses.

no
that would be black folks

your wasps are the most advantaged group of people in the nation
and now that measures have been put in place to erode that white male privilege
the wasps don't like it
don't mess with their unearned advantage
of they will start lighting their crosses - again

Bull****, they are a protected class.

So how are you going to reach out to angry white men and women next time around, or are you going to try harder to get others to come out to vote and not reach out to angry white men and women at all?

Make up your mind. Did Hillary lose because of angry white men and women or did she lose because of Comey or did she lose because she didn't get out her vote or did she lose because of the Russians? Is it possible she lost because she had no jobs program in blue states with jobs problems or that she really was a lying, dishonest, crook?

I can't believe anyone ever thought Bill Clinton was even a little bit attractive, even in his younger days. He looks like white trash. Probably because he is white trash.

There are always groupies of some kind, even political groupies.

That's because Trump rounded up the scared old people vote- old people whose fight-or-flight responses are going haywire and they need someone to focus their fears.

What's hilarious is that the GOP is planning to cut social security benefits for these people.

Do you think that, just maybe, in a system of 325 million Americans, you can't simplify the decision down to a single thing?

We saved and invested what we earned and want to keep it. What a concept. Just keep spending. Don't save or invest anything. It will give you something to bitch about later in life.

Yes the baby boomers have effectively redistributed income from other generations into their own hands.

If you knew how to use money productively, you'd understand that you got to spend money to make money.

Well, I'll sure give the left kudos for trying every trick in the book, even after blasting Trump for claiming that he would not accept the election results, right down to harassing electors trying to get them vote against the popular votes in their own states. It seems like they are blaming everyone but Hillary and the DNC.
