Aleppo Is Falling. What Does This Mean For Assad, ISIS and Russia?

The real question isn't what this means for ISIS, or Assad or Russia.... it's what this mean to Obama's legacy and the UN's ineptitude and cowardice. What this means for Trump coming into the mess left him and what if anything can be salvaged. Even MSNBC gets it.

Assad's Sham Election | The Huffington Post

With the cards literally all stacked in his favor, there's no way that Assad wouldn't have won. He got 88.7% of the freaking vote for Christ's sake. His "contenders" were mostly symbolic and had no chance from the start.

While here in the good ol' USA we had a choice between two candidates that the majority of both parties hated. OOPsie, but the Russians reputedly liked one of the candidates, but no proof of that or support by 16 of our 17 Intelligence (or lack thereof) Agencies. The CIA says with no named sourcce or certification of proof that it's the Russkies. The point of my article is that it is a hatchet article to make Syria look bad. "What about the children?" How dumb do you have to be to be sucked in by that line. The terrorists in Aleppo have been offered safe passage out of Aleppo since September and chose to stay and destroy Aleppo, The UN states that Nusra Front prevented citizens from leaving Aleppo. Everyone feels bad that people are dying and it is the reason that the USA/CIA/NED/FreedomHouse/USAID should not have provoked this rebellion. The blame rests right here upon our shoulders and that is what sucks.

Well Hell, that is a great way to generate hate.

I am with you, and we did the same thing in Ukraine, which ended up bad as well. I think this is a great lesson to the world, when you(F) are willing to burn down your country to get rid of your leader there is always a chance that you dont get your leader, that the country burns instead.

Think well and long before starting down this road, because if it goes poorly....

Dear God, dude. Just stop already.

Whasamatter boy scout? Does the truth hurt? Adjust your blinders. Call the CIA and request some soothing FakeNews.

It should not be accepted as an either or matter. I am Not even sure that the precedent of allowing the dictator to have his people back isn't the much worse precedent in the long run. Warlords and thugs are watching the world over.

The alternative is Western colonization and empire. And that's even worse.

Uh.....says who?

I don't know if you've noticed, but the European empires have been gone for more than fifty years now. There's no "colonization" going on. Just because some petty thug doesn't get to murder even more of his own people then he has already managed to doesn't mean that it's "empire".

Try reading up on the invasion of Iraq and the rise of ISIS then get back to me, kid.

From the video...

"When the full facts are finally uncovered, the fall of Aleppo will rank as one of the most shameful episodes in the Middle East's tortured history. And what's worse is the world knew but failed to act."

Yep.

The alternative is Western colonization and empire. And that's even worse.

I am not sure about that being the only alternative. It might be the only quick fix. But the walk we must walk is more difficult and means bringing on board the UN and restructuring it to take R2P, where the local power is the problem.

The UN cannot do anything- it never has. We tried to impose democracy in Iraq and we ended up with ISIS.

You're glad to see Aleppo fall??

You're glad to see human beings made into "just desserts"??

You're glad to see civilians being absolutely destroyed in every sense of the word??

I'd like to say what I think about that kind of disgusting attitude, but we're upstairs and I can't say it here. I don't give a flying **** about whose side is whose when human slaughter is at this scale.

Of course he is. In case you haven't seen his posting history basically anything that Russia does he supports 100%. And if it he thinks it paints the US in a bad light or goes against US interest all the better. Pretty similar to all the CT crowd.

I don't hate the USA. I just don't believe the myths promoted by the FakeNews Mainstream Media. BIAS is FakeNews. You can swallow all you want if it makes you feel good, however, for me, I prefer the truth no matter how unpalatable. I'm not sure you could find the truth.

But somehow you believe everything that comes from Russian state run media. How unsurprising.

Yeah, Iraq wasn't a colony either.......

And ISIS was only able to seize large chunks of land after we left the Iraqis to it.

So in other words you think it's "colonialism" when a western country goes to war with a third world country. Noted.

The UN cannot do anything- it never has. We tried to impose democracy in Iraq and we ended up with ISIS.

The UN can only be as effective as it is permitted to be. SC veto powers neuter it. Bush tried to impose US model free market capitalism in Iraq, not democracy. The UN rubberstamped a fait accompli.

That is about what the opinions were about the German situation before Bismarck. If we maintain that attitude, it is only a matter of time till a nuclear exchange takes place between someone somewhere around the globe and nuclear Winter in the aftermath. You cannot have a safe world given the parameters we now see forming and accepting passivity based on false memories and fearful interpretations will not save us. We are damned to take action and the time we have is rapidly running against us.

I think that when the USA goes to war "in a sandbox with OIL in it," we are after the OIL. Gee, who'd a thunk it?

Gee, you don't even bother to check the fact that we get most of our oil from Canada?

His "election" was a complete farce. And even before 2014, Assad was literally the only candidate allowed to run.

That kind of reminds me of the Democratic primaries this year when the Democratic national convention and the mainstream media conspired to sabotage Bernie Sanders' campaign run.

What does it mean for America....it was pathetic watching Kerry run around in a delirium accomplishing nothing.

There is nothing he can do. He can't mobilize a military action. He should keep his mouth shut instead of spewing the nonsense he provided. Easily the worst secy. of state in my memory.

Whasamatter boy scout? Does the truth hurt? Adjust your blinders. Call the CIA and request some soothing FakeNews.

The fake news is that an election won by a dictator has no democratic meaning.

Which is saying something after the well traveled but incompetent Hillary.

She could be the second worst. There aren't many Schultzes and Kissingers.

You're absolutely correct. Get them to stop the slaughter in MOSUL instead of selectively not reporting on it. Too late for Fallujah. Too late for Ramadi. Too late for Aleppo.

You have to understand Russians. All they care about is that port. That is it. Period.

Assad? THEY DO NOT CARE. There is a path they walk and anyone in that path moves or dies. Starvation, loss of infrastructure, etc. THEY DO NOT CARE.

Do not look for Western values in the middle east, or Russia for that matter. But, we keep trying.
