Poll: Majority of voters want Donald Trump to ditch his Twitter account

Quinnipiac's poll was actually just a few points off, within the margin of error.
Well there you go. The gold standard, the gospel truth, pure as the wind driven snow. Thanks for the update. They can't possibly be wrong now....

Nope, just looking and applying a little common sense to the issue.. Trump won, the vast majority of the " news" media lost... I am guessing you were part of the losing crowd.

If by lost you mean the guy I voted didn't win the election then you are right. I voted for the only republican in the field. National polling on the other hand was within the margin of error. Most polling right before election day had Clinton with a 2 to 6 point advantage and when they finally get around to finishing counting all the absentee/provisional/early ballots Clinton will finish up with a 1 to 2 point advantage. Now electoral college predictions were off, but very few "News" outlets bothered with those. Most of the "news" outlets stuck with national polling data. Don't let Hannity tell you otherwise.

Trump won with everyone telling him and everyone else that he would lose. The experts said everything about how his campaign ran would never work. The polls were wrong, nearly everyone were wrong about the " issues " that would sink his campaign. Wrong, wrong, wrong, nearly everything you look at what was predicted was wrong. Why would you now think this poll is correct? Could it be correct? Of course! Does the track record of all the media and their predictions say otherwise? Of course it does. Do you really think Trump will quit using Twitter? Of course not. The media almost universally were not only in the tank, but many were actively working against him. (Wiki leaks) do you think the " media " has a vested interest in pushing this? Of course they do. The vast majority of Americans do not trust the main stream media. Their power is slipping away and they know it.....

Sure, Trump ran what turned out to be a very good campaign, and after listening to his Digital Director Brad Parscale on NPR this morning I'm even more impressed. It's clear they were going after the electoral vote and not the popular vote. Smart.

I do because Quinnipiac has been accurate over the years including this year. Again their national polling was very close to what the actual popular vote is turning out to be. However, I do agree that predictions were wrong as news sources failed to apply national polling to the electoral college.

Of course it does. Do you really think Trump will quit using Twitter? Of course not.

I don't believe he'll quit tweeting and that's not what I asked in the OP.

I'm not into the media conspiracy theory. If you believe they were manipulating it by quoting what Trump actually said I don't know what to tell you.

Don't have much time to respond, trump was not my first pick, but they did run a "smart" campaign in some ways and in many other ways not so smart and left a lot of votes on the table in my opinion. ( I think he could have taken the popular vote) on the media conspiracy thing wiki leaks , their own emails, words, names, dates, etc... no conspiracy their own hacked emails.

He has no choice. Since he faces an inimical press, he really needs to go around it. I don't think the issue is the use of Twitter. That can't really change. The issue is the nature and style of the messages.

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Poll: Majority of voters want Donald Trump to ditch his Twitter account - CBS News

The poll: https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2405

My question is: If Trump abandons his personal Twitter account and uses the POTUS Twitter account do you think his style will change?

Trump wants attention and drama. He is a reality star. Drama and attention is what he knows. He can't quietly do his job as the president and be successful at it. I suspect he is going to use the media to take victory laps in between shooting himself in the foot constantly. Hopefully the voters will start to see through his bull**** charade quickly.

On one hand, I'm not a fan of it. It seems below the position.

On the other hand, I love how he can circumvent the news media altogether and virtually dictate their coverage any time he wants to.

This allows him filter-less access to deliver his message, without the media having time to manipulate and calculate a strategy on how to deliver it to us.

The media basically operates with their pants around their ankles with Trump. That is wonderfully hilarious.

It's because he is a reality TV star. I was just watching BBC, and they read on his tweets too. It's completely ridiculous, and it's also embarrassing to our nation that we are covered like that in foreign news outlets.

I don't want him to. I think it's important for him to keep showing his true idiotic colors. We have a right to know.

The quicker his fail train crashes and burns, the sooner we can get to moving past this mistake.

I think Trump should just be barred from all social media until he's no longer President.

What's the likelihood his account could get hacked? That would be crazy, but it seems like he would be an obvious target too..

They'd probably think we were such a gaggle of unintelligent ass tards that they'd simply destroy the earth to make way for a galactic highway.

I really can't figure out why some people I know voted for him. I know a really well educated surgeon who voted for him, and I remember when Obama was elected he acted a little panicked. He kept saying he was worried, and even mentioned being worried about his taxes. Looking back at that, I think his concerns are small fries in comparison to the situation he put some of his friends and associates in... I am talking about Muslim professionals here with VISAS. I think the only reason he voted for Trump is because he is a republican, and he couldn't vote differently. He even named his dog Reagan.

American media operates like Reality TV. It's more embarrassing that our media won't cover him responsibly.

Right now, they're sitting outside of Trump Tower reporting on the comings and goings like TMZ.

Tweeting should be banned altogether.
