California regulates cow farts

Then it is a mighty good thing that I never made such a claim.

You made this statement: "This is all part of the PC movement, the shaming of dissent, that lack of fidelity to the yearning for freedom or reason either for that matter. The Left is basically a cult these days."

So what was the point if not to draw some distinction between "The Right" and "The Left" or at least between yourself and "The Left"? If your point is all ideologies are like cults, OK, but you're a member of an ideology and therefore a member of a different cult than the left, so I'm missing the point....:doh

BTW: you sound like a person at my last home who claimed up and down over years that Feminism no longer exists on the basis of the fact that I could not produce membership cards.

This is not a compliment.

I'm not sure what that is all about. I guess it's in reference to my claim that this "The Left" is effectively a straw man that right wingers create to then attack? If so, I stand by it because I read a lot of people on "The Left" and there seems to be only a passing similarity between the strawman "The Left" and what actual liberals say and believe, and actually there is quite a gamut of opinions on "The Left" like there is on "The Right." And even if this "The Left" does exist, it's pretty intellectually lazy to argue against points presumably made by "The Left" instead of addressing actual comments by actual people that those of us on "The Left" can then read in context and defend or not.

I'll just edit to say that if you can identify this "The Left" and what they believe, please let me know! I'm dying to know what I think on all the issues, so a handy guide would be super helpful when I come here to debate! ;)

But here is the thing, you have the right to participate in conversation or not, but you dont have the right to direct your peers in conversation, to decide what we say, how we choose to argue and converse.

A common problem of the left is just this sort of dismissal of everyone who does not follow their Bull**** demands for conformity to communication "rules".

Which is why the Left never took Trump seriously till it was much too late.

Till he won the POTUS chair.

Maybe they learn.

Probably not.

SADLY.

Wait, methane? I thought co2 was causing global warming.

Well, look for dairy prices to increase as farming operations shut down or leave the state. Libs, always looking out for the little guy.

Wow. All those posts on global warming, but you dont know what causes it.

Dairy farming is just an big subsidized industry now anyway. All we are doing by subsidizing them is making taxpayers pay more for increased atmospheric methane while they dump millions of gallons of milk and refrigerate 1.3 billion of pounds of cheese.

Dairy Farmers Dump 43 Million Gallons of Milk Due to Surplus

America's Real Mountain Of Cheese Is On Our Plates : The Salt : NPR

US government to purchase surplus cheese to help out dairy farmers - Agriland

Looks like the new Consevative mantra is to make sure to hold on to inefficient subsidized industries AND damage the environment at the same time.

Well, it's a debate forum, so we comment on each others' posts. It's the point of this place. I thought your statement stereotyping "The Left" was nonsense, and explained why.

A common problem of the left is just this sort of dismissal of everyone who does not follow their Bull**** demands for conformity to communication "rules".

Stereotyping everyone to the left of you and placing them in one crappy box of your own making is hackery. Has nothing to do with conformity or 'communication "rules" but intellectual honesty. There are lots of diverse opinions on "The Left", a lot of very smart people, who can back up their opinions with the evidence, and come to different conclusions than also bright and informed people on "The Right." Claiming they're all just members of a cult means you don't know anything about "The Left" or are doing the same kind of BS dismissal you're whining about above.

Which is why the Left never took Trump seriously till it was much too late.

And lots of people on "The Left" took Trump seriously from the beginning. Too many did not, but to claim "The Left" as some homogeneous group didn't is ignorant or dishonest. FWIW, obviously too many on "The Right" also apparently failed to take him seriously until it was too late, given that he also rolled the establishment "Right" just as thoroughly as the establishment "Left."

It's always interesting to see how many ways people who aren't members of some group can completely misrepresent that group. "The left" is, first of all, a mythical group of homogeneous mindless drones that represents what those on the 'right' use as their boogeyman but only has a passing resemblance to any actual person, and this mythical "The Left" no more a cult than "The Right" is. Give me a break...

You mean exactly how so many from the left do the exact same thing with the "Right".

Ah. May I recommend a move to Kansas? It's as opposite a state from California as you'll find.

Moving to Montana actually. Kansas is too flat.

Less food being produced isn't going to reduce waste. It will still result in less food being produced, not to mention less jobs.

It may not necessarily result in starvation. But, are more, or less people going to be fed from less food?

Libs, always lookin' out for the little guy. Pffft.

They wonder why they lost the election, like it's a mystery or a conundrum.

We know...the "left" are all so complex... yeah, not really.

They want you to eat your greens.
And if you don't they will force you...it's sad to watch Cali become a socialist state.

If I ever do it, please call me out for that BS tactic. I don't happen to believe everyone on "The Right" is a mindless drone simply regurgitating talking points they heard on right wing radio. And in general broad brush stereotyping of roughly half the country is lazy hackery IMO. It's possible smart and informed people look at the evidence, weigh it consistent with different priorities and come to different conclusions about policy.
