TOKYO (AP) -- An earthquake with preliminary magnitude of 7.3 has struck off the coast of Fukushima prefecture in Japan. A tsunami warning for waves of up to three meters (10 feet) has been issued.

The Japan Meteorological Agency says the quake struck around 6 a.m at a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles).

I feel sorry for Fukushima, wasn't it the location where they had the nuclear meltdowns a few years back due to another Tsunami?

Yup, but the Tsunami that hit back in 2011 was reported to be over 40 meters high in some places. A 3 meter tsunami is nothing compared

I wish the folks in Japan the best!

Why don't we still hear about it? All that radiation didn't just disappear so the markets could get back to normal, did it?

Turns out it wasn't the end of the world after all.

Cover up..

Maybe rightly so as many people think too much of the radiation.. It is scary crap though but people tend to be a bit over afraid in my experience..

I know a nuclear scientists that maintains a nuke plant believe it or not and he said Fukushima was extremely bad, way worse than Chernobyl..
But we know more these days about to not to sick firefighters on it and such..

It's not covered up, it's just boring.

If you know someone who said Fukushima is worse than Chernobyl, that person isn't really a nuclear scientist. There's really no easy way to tell you this, but that person either knows absolutely nothing about the situation or is just outright lying to you.

I remember seeing a video a few years back of a guy who took a Geiger counter to the beach in California. He showed how the radiation levels jumped as he got closer to the water. I thought how jacked up that was because I'd swam in Half Moon Bay like a month before that guy made his video.
Its not so bad, the 3rd eye I grew actually comes in handy.

Hello stupidest post of the day. There is no coverup, I found news stories from earlier this week on the Fukushima reactor. Not everything is a conspiracy...

All the same, I wish the people Fukushima prefecture the best, they have had enough to deal with in the past few years.
