Romney is meeting Trump this weekend in NJ to discuss Secy of State Job. I think Romney is a good choice for Secy state. He has his head on straight when it comes to world affairs. Maybe Trump really will get the best people for the job. That or this is all smoke and mirrors.

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will meet with Donald Trump this weekend to discuss the secretary of state position, a source close to the president-elect with direct knowledge of his thinking told NBC News.

Eh......I think the dudes a slime ball.

Why do you think that?

Well, he ran a very intellectually dishonest presidential campaign. Touting his non successes as success as governor. He of course, would comment that he got "fee" and "tax" confused...but a lie is a lie. Plus, his company is part of the problem with our country.

I see Romney as part of the swamp that needs to be drained.

Keeping in mind that almost everyone in the conservative movement has Sec of State possibility, Romney accepting such an offer would be the sensible and patriotic thing to do, but I shudder at the thought that Romney will have to defend that man's administration.

Gotta be a hoax. Next we'll be hearing about William Kristol appointed to some cabinet post.

Eh......I think the dudes a slime ball.

Most people probably share your viewpoint, but apparently Trump does not??? Hmmm.... Are you telling me Trump doesn't care about that anymore??? Really? WHY!!!!:lamo

I have no idea how Romney would go about convincing Trump that he wanted to sign up for Team America after all the things he has said about The Rebellion, but Romney would be very good at Sec State.....far better than any of the other names I have seen.

Jesus, how long are you folks gonna keep acting so nonsensically deficient? Are you playing dumb or what?

What does it take for you to understand and realize this guy, a total newcomer to the game, outplayed everybody on both sides of the aisle, that including the almost mythical Clinton Machine, is in the process of completely undoing O bomb a [ so right there are two soon to be ex-presidents and almost demigods to their faithful ] ALL of mainstream media, including most at Fox in addition to, last but hardly least, the Janus headed establishment being the force behind them all?

If we as a nation are not too stupid, and the American electorate is far out ahead of the supposed wise political wizards on this, he may be able to right a listing ship of state. And I am not saying blindly follow the guy, but those that try to get in the way of him actually doing some good might well, and should be, squashed.

Well, you know, human pancakes will be funny to laugh at afterwards.

This is interesting. Mitt Romney was against Trump even more than Democrats.

Would the mushy middle crowd forgive romney if he has to stop attacking trump in public after or if he takes the sec of state job?

I suspect that this is more trolling from the a Trump camp. Romney will get the nod as Secretary of State the same day that Trump places Cruz in the Attorney General office..:2razz:

Romney's a great choice for SecState.

If he gets the job I hope Romney is a better diplomat than he is a politician

I can't think of two individuals farther apart than these two. Politics makes strange bedfellows I suppose.

“Here’s what I know. Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud,” Romney says in the speech. “His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He’s playing the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat.”

It seems that anyone that talks to Trump is being considered for Sec State. So far we have Juilano, Myth Romney, Petraeus, Nikki Haley and Newt Gingrich. He has a deep pool to chose from. I think it would be funny if Trump called Myth Romney to see if Myth Romney wanted the position so he could later call Myth Romney to tell him he wasn't chosen. I can't think of any other reason in the whole world to call Myth Romney.

Yeah, I think he should nominate Cruz for SCOTUS just to see y'all have a collective meltdown.....

You're confused if you think Trump is trolling the Left with the idea of Romney. Work through it. That's not at all what I'm suggesting.

Its only speculation that romney is meeting with trump for the sec of state job

Maybe the donald just needs his boots polished

Oh, I think that Trump is looking for what he believes are the best people he can get to surround him in his cabinet....It is exactly what he should do. And it doesn't matter what liberals think of it either.

I totally agree with you.

And will piggy back with this thought. I think it shows great magnanimity by Trump to choose people he believes will actually do great for America...no matter that Romney tried as much as anybody to sink the Trump campaign. Its the sign of a great leader, almost Lincolnesque if he should do so. And Romney would be a good choice.

If he were to actually appoint Cruz to the Supreme Court, that would cement the idea to me. I don't think he necessarily will, but it would be a great pick and a great gesture of forgiveness for the betterment of all.

I am wondering if Romney is like "Ya, OK will go talk to him and give him good advise but there is no way I want to do more than that".

But maybe Trump goes for the hard sell.

Trump does tend to get what he wants

IDK, But I do know that this is fun!

I think, have always thought, Romney had improving America as his primary motivator.

I also think that even our leaders, who often should know better [ especially if they happen to live is such a blue state as Mass and thus know the level of bias first hand ] often get snowed by the media just like many of us. I sure didn't start off liking Trump. However, I give almost everybody a listen and a chance. Even gave O bomb a chance after the first election. [ Didn't take long to see that my campaign opinion of him was ultimately correct, he has been about as lousy a president, with much competition, as I have seen in my lifetime. Because of the amount of structural and institutional damage he has wrought, probably the worst.] And the more I listened to Trump the candidate, the more I felt he actually would do some of the things he said he would try to do.

And I simply detest the interchangeable party establishments, which simply do not have America and American's interest at heart.

Romney does have good business sense. I hope he tames that to not being just Big Business sense... if he does get the job. Far superior even in his worst moments than a Hillary or a Kerry. Hopefully he is in time to somewhat rectify some of those bad deals we did with Iran, etc...

But absolutely--- this is fun fun.

Just watching the faces of the media as they pooped their pants election night was worth it. The Supreme Court nominations out of Hillary's claws... even better for America. And the choices he is making around him [ SooooOOooo glad he got rid of Christie, too ] are damned decent so far. Sessions as AG, Flynn as NS Advisor, don't really know too much about Pompeo at CIA... but would like to see Ben Carson in there somewhere.

Yeah, the honeymoon is going pretty well so far. :2usflag::2party: Better than a Action Comedy movie to watch :popcorn2:
