Boston vows to fight back against Trump's immigration plan

OK, but how does one determine who in that entire city voted for them? Secret ballot seems to make that nonsense amount to punish all for the (completely legal) voting act of some. Should we also cut funding to areas that pollute, have lousy schools or high crime? If your father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister commits a crime should you be punished too?

The real question should be , should cities that support illegal aliens be rewarded the same as those who support and uphold federal laws?

Nope, the real question is: Are those that violate federal law ever going to be charged with a crime? Rest assured that the average person on the street has no say in the matter of what the mayor, jailer or police does not do.

I'm thankful of all the tax dollars we're going to save by denying them funding.

It makes no difference. Your elected officials act on behalf of all its constituents. That's why it's called a representative government.

My father, son, brother, sister etc. committing a crime is not relevant. I didn't authorize them to act for me. Collectively or otherwise.

Your point is moot. Many of us have put up with a government for the past 8 years that we actively campaigned against.

As the man said. Elections have consequences. Win or lose.

And on that, I hope Trump sticks with his campaign promise. Cut off any and all funding to cities if they refuse to enforce, or actively thwart, legitimate and constitutional federal law.

It really is incredible that we've gotten used to these cities and Obama just openly disregarding the laws. They have no authority to change the laws. Why do they get to choose which immigration laws will be enforced, and which won't? Why should a city that refuses to obey the law get the same funding that the others, that do the right thing, get?

Can cities that disagree with the right to abortion decide to make abortions illegal in their cities?
