I don't think anyone knows what kind of sampling it is. If someone makes a death threat against another person, they should be held accountable, regardless of who it's against.

I agree Twitter is a sewer - I wouldn't engage in that if my life depended on it. The only thing I can see twitter being used for is informational / advertising.

So if an outlier represents the whole, than I suppose understand fully if the left were to do the same and call all Conservatives monsters when an outlier of conservatives threatened, and conspired to kill Obama?

I must confess that I have never used Twitter.

When I was growing up, to call someone a ‘twit’ was a supreme insult.
Years later in the Army, it was common to hear somebody describe a whiney, self-absorbed Soldier (usually trying to snivel their way out of some punishment or a field problem) as a ‘twittering twat’.

So naturally, when Twitter became a thing a few years ago, I decided to pass on it.

In the light of the six or seven scandals every month, wherein some celebrity or dishonest politician tweets or twits out some stupid/regrettable message, and it goes viral left and right?

Yeah.
I’m happy with my decision to stay out of that realm of nattering, nonsensical jackassery.

Careful, your partisan hack is showing. If I am not mistaken, the worst domestic terrorist threats ever on US soil were all committed by far-right extremists.
