NYC 'Not My President' Anti-Trump Rally (11/9) Gets Very Loud

The DNC didn't run around saying it was rigged. That was the grand cheeto.

Yeah, and? My point is that he had good reason to think the democratic party was going to cheat with what came months earlier about what they did during the primary. It sure as hell didn't help that reports kept coming out about odd things happening to Trump votes either. Face it, your party is dirty as hell and everyone had good reason to think they were going to cheat.

I was part of the anti-trump rally that started in Union Square last night and ended up at Trump Tower. I saw terror, I saw disbelief and I saw a lot of anger out there. I wanted to share what I saw with you guys and ask whether you think a people driven revolution is something feasible in a country like the U.S.

Amount of protestors v amount of people that accepted the election outcome....no revolution is going to succeed.

An actual violent revolution would be FAR worse than 4 years of Trump. My family and I have been stuck in the middle of an actual revolution/civil war before and people who say they would prefer that are clueless.

plus it would be one sided in this country. The people whining the most for revolution are the least likely to have the tools or the skills to pull one off

Since he is so sure it was rigged he shouldn't accept the result.

Umm, no, not by this bunch of whiners. They have been given pretty much everything they want for 8 years. Now they want to carry on like a bunch of third graders throwing a tantrum. No, this bunch won't be starting anything like a revolution.

Calls for violent revolutions in a Democracy such as ours is stupid. We have elections. Don't like the guy or gal and the job they are doing? Fine...vote against him/her when their current term ends.

Can't wait that long? Picket outside their office....peacefully. Or run political ads against them. Or call for a recall vote if your state has laws allowing for such.

Don't be a violent prick and ruin life for the rest of us.

We just had one. People like you lost.

2 posts, thinking a paid plant maybe?

How you libs going to have a "revolution" when you all disarmed yourselves?

Tell soros I said hi!

There will be a wall. I didn't vote for Trump, but he cannot not build it.

He has no intention of building a wall. Trump knew that Republican voters are among the dumbest out there.....he even said so himself. He knew what he had to say to get them salivating and to fool them into voting for him. He never intended on building it....and he never will. Anyone who actually believes that he will build a wall are among the biggest fools out there.

I predicted the Left would go nuts and protest, but have to say... I never thought the Left would unwind so fast... right after election day. Never entered my mind, but... I'm not surprised.

They've proven themselves to be far further gone than I could have imagined.

And their leadership... like that guy Obama... shouldn't they step up and smack this idiocy down? If it had been peaceful... OK... a day of mourning for the snowflakes would have be somewhat understandable... this has become utterly idiotic.

They're not doing their party or movement and favors. I'm sure in the minds of many who switched sides in this election, if they had any misgivings, this craziness has helped cement their choice in their minds.

That was actually fake. He never said that.

Correct, he never said R's are dumb, just as Sarah Palin never said I can see Russia from my backyard.

Revolution, schmevolution. I hear that kind of talk every 4 years. And a violent revolution will never happen. However, I believe strongly in non-violent revolution - AT THE BALLOT BOX. America happens to be the only nation in the world where a revolution happens every 4 years, and not a single shot is fired. Kudos to that.

To the Liberals - Suck it up. The best man won. Don't act like a bunch of hypocrites. You slammed Conservatives for talking armed insurrection, and now you advocate it? Shameful. Jeez, you guys turn my stomach.

To the Conservatives - Quit acting like you are all innocent. Since Obama took office, there were more than 30 death threats against him every day. That's right. Every day. And the number of right wingers talking about armed rebellion is more than I had ever seen before in my entire life. Yea, you are just as much of an asshole as those on the left who are talking violence now. Obama in office? Violence good. Trump in office? Violence anti-American. Jeez, you guys turn my stomach.

Here's the deal. No president has ever killed America. We survived every bad president to ever come along. We will survive Trump, and had Hillary won, we would have survived her too. Life goes on..... except for the hyperpartisan douche bags, and may the all, whether on the far right or the far left, all succumb to ulcers. As for me, I'm playing another gig tonight. Yea, that's right. I have a freakin' life. Why don't you hyperpartisan people get one too.

It's about racism and gay rights for the vast majority of the protestors. I'm part of "the left" and I'm doing exactly what Hillary Clinton asked her voters to do - I'm giving Trump a chance. You know what? That's what most of "the left" is going to do. We just had an election where an elected representative said he was going to get his musket ready if Trump didn't win. I'm not saying that was a literal statement, but many people said the same thing in all seriousness - they were getting prepared to murder government agents should their guns be confiscated. That's crazy! The protests against Trump have gotten out of control. We don't need shootings. We need to be smarter and kinder human beings, elect smarter and kinder politicians, and have grass roots movements to find representatives that share common ground.

Stop pretending one side is "angry and unwound" after 8 years of socialist-secret-muslim-trying-to-destroy-America conspiracy theory diarrhea. Do you have liberal friends? Do you respect other people's viewpoints? Are you tolerant? Frankly, you don't sound like part of the solution to this divisiveness.

Exactly. I'm going to be a loud and annoying advocate for disabled Americans because Trump has already threatened to cut funding for some of their services (in writing) but I'm going to give him a chance.

The bigger question: what's up with the hyperpartisan people here? Do they not work? I play in two bands, work on media (youtube and public access, don't laugh) and have my job and side gig. I wish I had a gig tonight. Next weekend. It'll be great to bring people together for a single cause: the rock.

Kudos to you. My wife is disabled, and I have spent many years fighting for her. :)

The most those people can do is riot, a Revolution takes a lot....a lot of coordination and effort and a level of violence they couldn't aggregate to.

I do find the "choose love" stuff to be rather ironic given the overall hateful and spite filled rhetoric.

Trump won, get over it.

One has to wonder what anti-2A protestors expect to revolt with....

Well put.

We can just sit back and watch now how this comes out. The Repbulicans have been bitching about Obama for 8 years for every single thing he does including how his wife looks.

Now that they own the White House, The Congress, and The Senate there is no reason for them to bitch. This should allow Trump to fulfill all this boasts. Lets see how this works out.

"Very loud"? Oh hell no. That wasn't even the opening act. That was the orchestra fiddling on their instruments before the warm-up tuning.

There's another election in two years.

If you care enough to put forth the energy to protest in the streets, then re-direct that energy towards finding electable candidates who can take the majority in the Senate and/or House in two years.

What I want to know is this: why do you care so much when the people who stand to be hurt by a Trump Presidency didn't bother to show up and vote? Where were all the outraged black people who voted for Obama last time out? Where were all the Latinos who could see their family members deported or denied the opportunity to ever get here? Where were all the indignant women and their voting-age daughters? What about all the impoverished who suffer the most from gun violence? What about all the people who finally got insurance under Obamacare?

Where the hell were they???

I know where they weren't---they weren't at the voting booth. Only 13 states don't have mail in ballots so voter suppression is a load of horse crap.

We may very well be entering a necessary time of "worry about yourself, the ones you care about, and no one else."

I have tried to vote for what I sincerely believe to be the overall best interests of the nation, even though I know it may hit me in the pocketbook.

Never again. If the people I listed above can't be moved to get off their ass and stand up for their own well-being, then I'm not going to either.
