Doggedness and Defiance: How Trump won | Fox News

Early this morning, after he had stunned the world by winning the presidency, Donald Trump took a call from a longtime confidant.

"Nobody believed in me," Trump said. Literally, only two or three people, he said, had thought he could pull this off -- and at times, not even Trump himself. Now he had a lengthening call list of world leaders who wanted to pay their respects to the new leader of the free world.
It was a starkly different scene last June, when the businessman was still seen as a hopeless underdog. Trump was on his blue-and-red Boeing 757, huddling with his top staffers, who were begging him not to talk about Gonzalo Curiel.
Trump had a score to settle. He told his staff he wanted to denounce the judge handling the lawsuit against Trump University. His advisers pushed back hard, saying this would be a huge distraction, that Trump had to be seen as fighting for America, not for himself.
The unofficial Republican nominee took the plunge anyway, calling the Indiana-born judge, whose parents were from Mexico, a “hater” who had “an inherent conflict of interest.”
Pretty good article, describing how Trump kept doing what should have sank him, and won. Why is a good question did he win anyway? Probably because the Establishment hadn't listened to the People, and Trump had. The only other similar group like those on the Right, were the Sanders followers.

Trump has never listened to the people at all. The red-state blue-collar voters were so done with DC that they would have picked a monkey over a clear status-quo insider like Hillary.

Trump spoke to the working class. Clinton decided to ignore them. No matter which one you supported those are facts.

Why did he win?

1. He hit on key issues concerning most Americans neglected by The Establishment.

2. He hit on all Hillary's massive weaknesses and was unrelenting.

3. He took on the corrupt media, and didn't cower to their attacks as McCain and Romney had.

Romney was right about his 47% mark, and instead of explaining it, and building on it... he cowered.

Tea Party. It's Republicans and Democrats.

ROTFLOL...

This reminds me of the Left's claim that Reagan didn't bring down the USSR.

So when WAS the last time that Trump supposedly "listened to the people?" ROFLMAO.

He won the election by voicing their concerns... if that ain't listening, I don't know what is.

His first proclamation was based on listening... when all other politicians cowered, he stepped into a massive void.

He listened.

He didn't cower.

He won.

Ridiculous claim. He won the election by intentionally saying the most outlandish thing he could on any given day, to maximize the number of people who would pay attention to him. Nothing but calculated narcissism.

Trump is a buffoon.

But at the same time, it was refreshing to see a candidate dish out the crap instead of taking it it. I cringed at some of the words he used, but I like the way he fights. The liberals didn't know how to handle him because he was on "full auto" and always inviting a good fight.

Romney, although is a nice man.................. fought like a dandelion.

ROTFLOL... I realize the Left's heads are exploding... And the blarney above is outlandish, but I enjoy watching the Left reveal they've learned nothing.

I realize it's early. Wounds are raw.

Trump won spending pennies to Hillary's dollars.

His message resonated because he did listen. He saw this massive void, and stepped into it.

And he correctly painted his opponents as corrupt and phony... Hillary and her propaganda mill... The Press.

LOLOLOL... No one will believe you just because you're inventing your own story, kiddo. You don't have Daddy's $40 million to play with like Trump did.

And here's what's going to hurt you most: I'm not even angry about last night's outcome. The election process worked. I'm just disappointed in Americans like you who went to the polls for orangeman.

I have been basically saying the same thing all along. He won the nomination because he fights back. People are tired of watching their candidates smeared and wilting like hot house flowers so they went out and found someone just as ruthless as their opposition.

We wouldnt of needed to do if people on the left had showed a little more restraint when they governed.

It might be bogus, but Trump knew that dumb angry people would believe his lies. He was right.

Again, you push unsubstantiated nonsense. Bring the proof.

Is that the Dan Rather defense? I know it's fake but I will still consider it true.

They thought they had it in the bag.

The United States doesn't need "restraint;" it needs solutions to its many problems. The left had a few, but the right never came up with any. All they did was try to scare people and play the blame game.

Trump ignored the good advice given by the liberals that wanted to sink him. As a result, Trump won. Romney by contrast wanted to please everyone by listening to others.

The message was the message, not the messenger.

Over the past several hours I have many of the same people that delivered the first advice now giving similar advice as to how Trump should transition and govern. I think he will ignore that also.

"Kiddo"... That's a ROTFLOL... because I used to be a Demokrat way back when I was a "Kiddo".

1. Trump got a million from his father.

2. He's built and managed an empire.

3. He spent pennies to Hillary's dollar.

4. He addressed concerns of so many Americans. They know the economy sucks, ObamaKare sucks, our foreign policy sucks, and Hillary was no solution, just an extension of the problem.

I recall a story about Reagan going in to visit Carter during the transition.

Carter was going on and on about (his failed) policy, and Reagan wasn't listening... which blew Carter's mind.

It seems Trump is of that cloth. But it's also easy to ignore failures like Carter and Obama. He didn't win by being Socialist-lite.
