State Proposes to Take Control of Home Temps

If you thought a law prohibiting swearing in bars was bad, how about the latest from California?? A proposed new law will require that all home thermostats have non-removable radio receivers in them so that officials can control your home thermostat from a central location.

Big Brother is taking over your lives Californians… Title 24, Part 6 already dictates what appliances you are allowed to buy, what kind and how many windows you are allowed to have, what kind of roof you must install, and hundreds of other details of your home and business.

What's next??

I guess you guys didn't hear about the state trying to ban black cars.

Its because they retain more heat and all that global warming stuff.

So my first reaction was shock but then I read that it was for emergency situations. Now before I go and fly off the handle I'd just like to know what qualifies as an emergency situation. If it is used like the emergency broadcasting system or something like that when major damage could be prevented by using it then okay, but I honestly can't see much point. I'm not sure how this helps anything other than to add more bureaucracy.

The government has no need to control my thermostat. Water or power is one thing, but I fail to see how the temperature of my house is anyones business but my own. What is the rational behind such a stupid proposal?

California is probably the only state where the majority of people would be okay with letting the government control their thermostats but not with letting gay people marry.

The Constitution assures a republican form of government for each state. Now that California is socialist, maybe we need to chop them off, or maybe the military needs to move into Sacramento and force a change.
