FBI: No new conclusion in Clinton email investigation | TheHill

The FBI said it had some 650,000 new emails to sort through, raising questions about whether a conclusion would come before Election Day.

NBC New’s Pete Williams said the emails on Weiner’s computer were “nearly all were duplicates of emails previously seen by FBI agents investigating the email server.”

Others were not related to government business, he added.

A senior law enforcement official told Williams that the total number of classified documents found on the Clinton server did not change as a result of the latest review.
I am sure the FBI had significant resources assigned to this.
Thoughts?

What?!?!? No Weinergate?!?!?

Not the worst thing since Watergate?

There was no shortage of people telling the teatards this was just a buncha BS. Now Comey's got some 'splainin' to do why he sabotaged a presidential campaign..

Can Hildabeast have her percentage points back now? LOL!

To the right-wingers, this is still evidence of guilt. That's how it works. They find something, she's guilty. They don't find something, she's guilty and covered it up.

As stated in another thread, I already predicted this a while back:

In all honesty?

I would like to suggest a possibility not presented by either side here.

Perhaps he elected to take this step in announcing the re-start of the investigation for the sole purpose of making a timely, and definitive statement before the election indicating that Hillary is cleared of all allegations.

Look at it this way. The new info discovered on Weiner's computer was bound to be leaked to Congress by disgruntled moles in the FBI. If they found out he did nothing? It would be his ass.

Director Comey, realizing this, informed Congress to appease them; then wrote that letter about not knowing what the emails contain to muddy the water.

If we see a declaration in the next few days prior to Election Day that "after a review the FBI finds no new evidence regarding the conduct of Secretary Clinton," then my suspicion is confirmed.

That would be a major plug for Hillary's campaign.

If it continues through and past Election Day? Then there was some serious issue of malfeasance on Secretary Clinton's part that Director Comey has opted not to subvert.

Either way, he has covered his ass as best he can in the situation.

Now it may still be possible that all the emails have not been examined and he is just making this statement under pressure from his bosses, in fear of losing his position. Time will tell.

I like how Comey swoops in a week before the election to get everybody all fired up and then quietly decides he was right the first time. Whatever damage there was has been done.

Once again, I wish to clarify that this FBI investigation into Hillary's private email server is quite separate from the other ongoing FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation. Comey has today stated that his July pronouncement (that Hillary was irresponsible but not criminal in having a separate email server handling her State Dept communications) still stands, and the Weiner laptop emails do not change that. However the other FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation is still ongoing, and Comey has never offered any comment on that whatsoever. Whatever possible charges may come out of that other FBI investigation are not yet revealed to the public.

So Hillary is not out of the woods yet - not by a long shot.

Part of his job is to PROTECT the integrity of a Presidential election. He was pressured into it by House members and rogue agents. We need a serious investigation of those House members and the agents need to be fired.

Doesn't really matter.

The FBI Just Absolved Hillary Clinton. But That Doesn’t Undo the Damage

With 36 hours until election day, will this change anything?

Nope.

Because a loser like Trump couldn't win no matter what sleazy tricks his birther friends in the GOP House try. It does not make the matter less important to investigate Congress and clean house at the FBI. We cannot allow this stuff to ever happen again. We also need to muzzle the House "overreach" committee and point their asses back to work on the peoples business instead of partisan nonsense. Over 60 votes to repeal Obamacare and now this?

1. If anyone else had done this, they'd be in the can for a loooong time.

2. The Clinton Foundation is still under investigation.

3. If this drags, expect Whistleblowers.

Yea just keep this BS going through 2018, it will give us the ammo to throw those birthers out of the House and get something done for a change.

Personally i disagree if there was legitimate an investigation the public should be aware of it before casting their vote. Im glad they were able to conclude before the votes wete cast.

The trouble is your hatred towards Clinton sits above all else, so it's irrelevant what anyone says to you. Its called dogma.

Julian Assange says Donald Trump 'won't be allowed to win' election | Daily Mail Online

When Assange first predicted/announced that Trump would not be allowed to win the presidency, I was thinking, there is no way that could be true after Comey announced a new investigation.

Now we have this new announcement regarding the new emails as related to Hillary. A careful dissection of what he is saying seems to indicate:

1. They found nothing new but only corroborated what was found earlier... so apparently with 630K emails in what? Triplicate, quadruplicate, more...???

2. that they investigated only those emails specifically to and from Hillary ... were there not others, her surrogates using this home-brew server as well and perhaps sending classified info back and forth to each other for her?

3. Does not indicate or conclude who had access to this server and whether they had proper security clearances

4. That the FBI, or at least Comey, has not changed conclusions only informs us that the agency, even with the understanding that national security and required FOIA laws were broken as outlined in Comey's testimony before Congressional Committees, will still not be pursing an invocation of a Grand Jury nor suggesting prosecution under an administration that has already blocked/subverted the inquiries and any move towards an indictment for such malfeasance never having a requirement of "intent"

5. That checking all that many emails had to be done in some electronic manner that searched based on whatever good or faulty criteria set up for the search... would be nice to at least know those criteria

6. Assange might well be right, the fix may be in, and this seemingly would seal it. If the election IS rigged and the vote goes rightfully or not for Hillary, it can then be proclaimed the people had the correct information and decided accordingly. With the system as totally screwed up as has been now evidenced, how will ANYBODY on either side have faith in the system?

This makes the 2000 election seem like a child with his hand in the cookie jar compared to the potential robbing of a national bank.

Nah, I don't see the preplanned intent here.

The reopening of the case was huge negative for HRC, and the subsequent exoneration not only had far less positive effect than the earlier announcement - but HRC herself refused to publicly reference it during her campaign stops.

She wants to let emails slide into oblivion - not revisit them; though I can imagine her surrogates might consider making the case for her here in some instances.

What I find odd, is how strong and active the original Comey letter DP thread was, but how relatively little is happening in this one.

Of course none of the campaigns are pushing it either, so maybe it's a non-issue?
Clinton will not as it bring the scandal to light and she loses in that.
I wonder how many Committees the Republicans in the house will have regarding investigating, HRC, Bill for his fees at the Foundation, Chelsea for wedding expenses, the SIL for hitting up donors for his hedge fund.
She may well be a 1 term President.
