The media are acting as if the election is already a foregone conclusion, and are piling on to declare his candidacy a lost cause:

Are the media taking a victory lap over Donald Trump? | Fox News

The mainstream media are gearing up to congratulate themselves for a Donald Trump defeat.

And then to flip the off switch on the Trump phenomenon.

Which may not be that hard to do, since I’m told that the candidate himself hasn’t expressed any interest in launching a television network—a decidedly hard slog-- despite the widespread media assumption that it’s his next move.

Now Trump may defy the polls and prognosticators and win the White House, but if he doesn’t, we’re seeing the first high fives for what many journalists are viewing as their vindication.

The media are in the tank for Clinton. The media didn't show any charity to Trump before - he was the one always willing to make himself available for interviews to them much more than others.

So-called mainstream media (MSM) are fully aligned with one party - the Democratic Party - and that's not good for the health of a 2-party/multi-party democratic system. (Ask the Bernie supporters if they feel the media were objective and fair to them. The media were still in the tank for Hillary)

Thank you. I have been trying to make that point since the bleating started, When it was "Trump, Trump, Trump the media were heroes, tellin it like it is!".

Now its excuses, excuses, excuses, the same activities and posts as the Obamabots, at who the right railed and railed, noting the "stupidity" and so on....now they are them.

The latest from "the Boss" is that the whole election system is rigged, including Fox News, NBC, CNN, Fox News, The New York Times, and on and on...
Yeah, that's a reasonable explanation for what's happening to the Trump "campaign", that every reporter, editor, manager at Fox News and the rest are conspiring to "get him"

I love thew inclusion of Fox News, The man is bent, seriously bent

ditto with polls

when they were in his favor he would mention them at every turn

now that they are against him, they are 'rigged'

The media is not to blame. If Hillary had 14 people come forward alleging sexual assault, if Hillary was getting into twitter wars, if Hillary was doing the crap Donald is they'd report on that too. A presidential candidate should not act like a public jackass and then wonder why he's in the news.

****ing Fox News. They always act like they somehow aren't part of the MSM.

Donald Trump is too much of an edgelord to be President.

Since when is reporting the news considered, "advertising"?

for a long period after he announced his campaign, tRump was a daily regular on morning joe

scarboro and mika fawned over him both in person and on other days over the phone

this was not news being reported. this was tRump using free media to advance his campaign

and he was very smart to achieve that much free publicity. which causes his current whining to be so laughable

No sane or rational person that isn't a partisan hack, denies that the media is like 99% Clinton's favor. But Trump hasn't made the most of his time in the spot light- in a positive way. Trump had two choices after clinching the nomination. He could move away from his extremism and push to a more moderate establishment Republican (which a lot of people thought he'd do), or he can take the chance of going down his path of anti establishment. Since a presidency is just a popularity contest nowadays, that's where he lost style points.

That being said, I'm sure he's got a pretty large underground of followers that don't want people to know they're voting for him.

"...The media didn't show any charity to Trump before"

Thanks for that, I'm still laughing.

"The media" made Trump. Without the $3 billion in free coverage at the beginning of the campaign, Trump would have been moaning it was all rigged in April.

You Trump supporters are the most deceitful, dishonest, sore losing people on the face of the earth. I thought Obamabots were bad, but you guys make them look good.

He has said the the Televison Emmies are rigged because he never won. I suspect he developed the mantra at childhood

if you have not seen this yet, grab some popcorn and good American beer and enjoy this emmy related video:

You know, that kind of proves my point that I've made throughout the election that the mainstream media is all about ratings. Nothing more.

Myself and other Bernie supporters were blowing the whistle about rigged systems before Trump ever did.

It isn't 'laughable', it is infuriating. Willingly or otherwise, Trump is a kamikaze discreditor at the behest of the Clinton war machine.

You're pretending that the media were doing some charitable service to Donald Trump - don't make me laugh.

Trump was a ratings magnet for every media outlet - they were eager to get him on, because he would boost their ratings and their bottom line.

Trump was the only guy always willing to make himself available to anybody for interviews at any time - far more so than any of the other candidates, who were much more selective on their availability. He knew they wanted him, and he was willing to take them up on that.

There's no way that this was some one-sided charity being given to Donald Trump. That's just garbage.

Furthermore, some old-school Republicans have openly worried that the overwhelming Left-leaning (pro-Hillary) media were deliberately fawning over Trump in order to help him wipe out the other rival Republican candidates - thus effectively clearing the field for Hillary - only so that they could later pull the rug out from Trump toward the end, to hand Hillary a fait d'accompli. Go to the National Review Online, and they've been full of stories about such concerns since the beginning.

Maybe they're right.

Bill Kristol called morning joe on that and Joe flipped out. Joe knows he enabled that blowhard and now refuses to take responsibility.

yep
both joe scarboro and mika now try to pretend they were not in the tank for tRump
anyone who watched their show knows better

No, I didn't - I summarized the exact same thing in my OP - Trump didn't receive any special favoritism from the media before, and owes them nothing now. On the contrary, the media benefited from Trump, and now they're backstabbing him with their blatant bias for Hillary Clinton.

If the media is controlled by the Democrats, then why do Republicans control both houses of Congress?
