UN Naming Wonder Woman an Honorary Ambassador Sparks Protests

Aww, WonderWoman, you so sexualized n sexist!

Etc, etc - ad infinitum, ad nauseum

Half of Hollywood are UN ambassadors - you're telling me that they're non-sexualized role models?

I'm just pointing out the Left-PC hypocrisy at UN and similar institutions. They're all full of crap.

Ah, so you agree that there is an over sexualization of female role models in society in general??

Welcome to feminism.

Society is commercial, and sexualization is the result of commercialism - because sex sells.

Imagine if sex didn't sell. Then guess what - we'd have a lot less sexualization as a result.
Or alternatively, imagine if there was no commercialism - then guess what - we'd again have a lot less sexualization as a result. In communist countries, for example, they don't have advertising or marketing industries to bombard everyone with sexual imagery all the time.

Hollywood is a factory - a dream factory - but still a factory, nonetheless. And all factories produce pollution.
Steel factories produce pollution, chemical plant factories produce pollution. And yes, the Hollywood Dream Factory produces its own form of pollution. But do you think they'll ever agree to control it? No - they're okay with restrictions for others, but not for themselves.

Some people at the UN are protesting over Wonder Woman, the DC Comics superheroine, being named an honorary UN ambassador for women:

Protesting against Wonder Woman? Uhh, some people just have too much time on their hands.

I don't understand the outrage. Wonder Woman is badass even though her movie is gonna suck. I'm more concerned that our taxpayer dollars are being used to prop up an organizations that wastes it's time like this.

Society has been that way long before the impact of globalization.
Women are actually more sexualized the less evolved society is and not the other way around, it's not something that was caused during the years, on the contrary.

You're kind of missing the point here that when people talk about female empowerment and gender equality they oppose sexualizing women, so when an international body decides some fictional female character is the best role model for women all around the world to promote gender equality it better not be some character drawn by a bunch of dudes for the sake of men who like fantasizing about sexy, badass women. The female actresses/singers/models you listed weren't, by the way, chosen as ambassadors to promote gender equality.

If women disapprove so strongly of being objectified why do they spend so much time and money on objectifing themselves?

Hair, make up, shoes, clothes, working out, etc.... ever look in a womans closet, they have a phobia about wearing the same outfit twice. They spend hours in front of a mirrior preparing to go out. Live with their noses buried in fashion magazines looking for new looks. Sorry im not buying all this faux offense to it. They donot bevause they like the attention.
