Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton to show their funny sides at annual dinner

Actually - I stand corrected - this was Trump's best shot of the evening:

As I've mentioned here many times I've listened to Trump speak for 30+ years. He's never, ever been able to make fun of himself or take it when other people made jokes about him. He's always been thin skinned. He has a sense of humor, as long as it's directed at other people.

So the fact that he did so terribly at an event like this is really no surprise. To be honest I'm surprised he showed up, I'd think he would try and bow out somehow. He had to know before hand he wouldn't come off well. Not at an event like this.

He's 70 YO, he's never going to change now. He's never going to 'lighten up'.

He made fun of his hands, he made fun of his "humility", "temperament", etc - he even made an over-the-top comparison of himself with Jesus. He was very hilarious - he actually has very good comic timing and delivery.

One of the best parts of DP is you get some rather unique opinions...

Yeah, Hillary repeatedly made fun of herself. I particularly like where she said she wasn't boring, she was the life of every party she'd attended... and she had attended three! She also made fun of her pants suits, and generally seemed to understand the spirit of the event she was attending. Not something I can say about Trump... or Guiliani, for that matter!

The only even remotely funny and well-done self-deprecating that Trump did was his comment about Michelle Obama's speech and Melania delivering the same one. That was sheer brilliance.

Rudy looked like someone peed in his salad.
