Trump refuses to say whether he will accept results of Nov. 8 election

 Oh puhleeze....You saw a chance to be a snarky liberal progressive, because, well that's what you are.....So you took it, problem is I am sitting here shaking my head at you, and you think that you are making a point, and you're not, you're just looking small, and less than intellectual.

Riiiiiiiight. YOU said - or meant to say - that honesty and civility are the casualty of the progressive era. See, you didn't mean anything snarky there, of course not! You were simply saying just so kindly and politely what horrible people we progressives are, no insult at all, huh?

But when I turned your words around - using your own error in using the English language, by the way - and simply said that honesty and civility are the CAUSE of the progressive era, well, ha-RUMPH, THAT obviously was a mean, horrible, snarky insult, and I obviously injured lots of virgin ears when I said it.

Here's a clue: If you want to throw mud, don't be surprised or offended when mud gets thrown back at you...especially when we've got LOTS more ammo than you do thanks to Your Boy Trump and everything that led to y'all nominating him for president.

The only reason he accepted the outcome was because the SCOTUS made him. He was still filing recount challenges all over the place.
so what acceptance are you talking about again?

ol yea he was made to accept the results.

here we don't even have any results yet.

Actually, it was the Republican Sec of State who haulted the recount, as I recall, which is what led Gore to file an action w/the S.Ct. to continue the count. He called Bush beforehand to tell him what he was going to do.

He requested a recount of only one county, and there was ample evidence to do it. FL was having a LOT of trouble with its election counts. It seems that one set of ballots was printed improperly, so that some names didn't line up with the hole to punch. Gore's was one of those names. If someone punched Gore, he may have actually punched some senator's hole instead of the Gore hole he was supposed to punch.

Second, the count was very close. A few hundred votes difference. Adding to the question of that was also the fact that Gore had won the popular vote, so it lended credence to the view that maybe there had been an error, given the problems with the ballots and the small count difference.

He SHOULD have requested a recount of the whole state, is what some experts say, since it was warranted. Florida's election was screwed up that year. In any case, he followed the law, and it was decided by the law. Law reigns in our country.

But yes, he called Bush to concede, and gave a very gracious concession speech to the public. No ifs, ands, or buts. Watch the video. This is how it's done (he mentions putting aside partisanship, helping to heal the divide that the election caused, resolved through the honored institutions of our democracy, bring Americans together):

I was living in PA at the time.

The ballots in question were the butterfly ballots that were approved by the Democrat Party.
There were a large portion of people that did cast a ballot but for the wrong person. The ballot was sent out
And even printed in the news paper a head of time.

Yes she halted the re-count because they had already recounted it 3 times and he still lost.

That was gores problem bush suggested a full recount of the entire state.
Gore wouldn't do it. He only wanted recounts of more liberal areas of Florida.
That is a violation of equal protection. It didn't help that different polling places where using different standards
To give ballots to people.

The biggest issue in Florida that year was the so called hanging chad.

Now they use scantron sheets. Fill in the bubble put it in the machine done.

It was the PRINTING that screwed up the ballots.

No, there hadn't been several recounts.

It is totally false that Bush suggested a recount of the whole state. He didn't want ANY recount, obviously. He had won, in his view.

Gore only requested a recount of ONE county...the one with the small count difference, that he wanted to make sure was right. That's the purpose of a recount, after all. He didn't choose which county had the issues. He chose to recount the county that had the big issues. As for it leaning Democratic....as I said, Gore had won the popular vote there, so that supported the recount, to make sure it was right. He might not have requested that recount if Bush had won the popular vote there by a large margin. The count would have made more sense.

As I said, Florida's election process that year was screwed up.
