WikiLeaks Says Assange's Internet Link Was Severed by 'State Party'

Like sexual predators on the run from the law?

Birds of a feather, tend to flock together. Wonder if Trump would trust Ivanka in the same room as the Russian stool. Then again, Trump has stated his uncontrollable urges have allowed incestious thoughts to occur, perhaps a 3 some?

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Such arrangements are generally very short lived ones.

Greetings, humbolt. :2wave:

Don't make enemies - if you do, bless your heart, don't send emails! *As a minor note, everything I have read shows that the emails Wikileaks has posted in past years have been validated, and are the truth.* Too bad we "everyday people" were never supposed to see them, but perhaps that's Karma interfering in the elite's business again?!

Wikileaks founder and fugitive under asylum at Ecuadorian Embassy, Julian Assange has suffered a loss of his internet access due to what he says was state intervention. He says contingency plans are being pursued to regain him communication ability.

I dunno what the hell's going on - I hope that US/Western govt didn't just surreptitiously decide Assange is Soviet agent and thus legit target for cyber-attack to take down his communication to shut him up exactly during the final critical few weeks of the elections to protect Hillary from further disclosures.

Because, you know - using state power to intervene on the side of a particular candidate during an election is a sure way to make the state look like it favors a particular candidate - thus destroying the credibility of the electoral process.

OR because Assange is nothing but a conduit for Russian Govt. haclkers you could say that preventing a foreign State from interfering with our elections is the duty of the Govt. Foreign powers are forbidden to contribute to or aid American candidates in any way. If you want Putin's favors go vote for HIM in Russian elections.

There is a record against which the leaked material can be checked. If anything was changed, we'd have heard about it within the day of their release. I do like Podesta's claim that he's been "altered". My dogs make the very same claim, but they actually have evidence. Podesta has declined to reveal his.

Yeah...

Maybe Obama should do what Hillary suggested: Drone strike against the embassy to take out Assange.

LOL Like that was seriously considered. Trump is the one who wants to kill innocents....unless he can torture them first.

Joe Biden may have spoiled the surprise:
Biden: 'We're sending a message' to Russia over hacks - POLITICO

Biden said a few days ago that the US was going to retaliate against someone for the WikiLeaks emails. The Obama administration wouldn't have the nerve to actually strike out against Russia, so I'm guessing that this is their little 'covert' surprise.

Well, we know Hillary was serious, even though the people she was talking to laughed at her. Then they stopped laughing.

Has the US govt actually presented any evidence to the American people to prove that the Wikileaks emails were actually the Russian govt's handiwork? Or should the entire process of determination-and-response just be done completely out of sight of the American people, when it relates to the US elections.

In India, where my parents come from, there are 3+1 branches of govt power under the constitution:
Executive (Prime Minister's office)
Legislature (both houses of Parliament)
Judiciary (Supreme Court and the various courts below them)

and there's one more - the Election Commission - a constitutionally independent govt body whose sole job is to oversee elections to ensure they're free and fair. Because in 3rd world countries, all kinds of dirty tricks can and do happen, this body was created from the outset to contend with these kinds of problems, in order to maintain the credibility of the electoral process and democracy.

If the current type of situation were happening in India, the Election Commission would automatically have authority over any relevant agencies (India's FBI is called the CBI - Central Bureau of Investigation) specifically in connection with anything impacting free and fair elections. Relevant personnel would be required to report to the Election Commission in connection with election-impacting matters, just as they'd ordinarily report to the Prime Minister's Office on anything else.

Maybe America needs an Election Commission - ie. a constitutionally independent body to oversee elections. It could be appointed by a bipartisan legislative panel, just like the judiciary is. And maybe that would be in recognition of the fact that the United States is starting to look a little bit like a 3rd-world country, with its politics becoming like 3rd-world politics.

China is infamous for tampering with the Internet. Just saying this sounds like something they would do.

They might if Assange was exposing the Chinese communist party, but they have no reason to stop Assange exposing Hillary as a corrupt politician.

Its gotta be someone working with Clinton, who else but "wipe it with a cloth" Clinton would think that shutting off Assanges' internet access would stop him from leaking things? This doesn't do much but make it a little more difficult for him to access information. I would assume he is not in actual possession of any of the material in person and he just has to give the go ahead on another means as to when to leak more.
Well, that might not be so easy.

He can't leave his apartment.

Perhaps he has a drone that he can fly through the air vents to the outside world? Who knows what that guy has in his possession. Must get pretty boring.

My guess is that Ecuador felt that it was bad optics to allow Assange to attempt to influence a U.S. election using the resources of their embassy - and they'd be right.
Yes, but I suspect more likely political/financial pressure was put upon them.

Maybe this is the punishment Kerry threatened the Russians with.

:peace

Come on. why not hack Putin's emails? The Dems are much too soft. Too little and too late as usual.

LOL Well you have revealed yourself as a fly that was in the room that day. What is it like to suck everything up through your straw'like mouth? Aren't you worried you will get swatted?

That his internet got cut off shortly after releasing Hillary's Goldman Sach speech transcripts on Saturday is certainly no coincidence; the White House must be leaning hard on Ecuador to silence the man. Thankfully they've upheld his asylum thus far.

Oh wait, this is rich!

So hacking the DNC, The Clinton Campaign, the US Gov, and various state election boards got no reprisal. But when he leaked Goldman Sachs materials, Assange was knocked off-line pronto!

--

"We can confirm Ecuador cut off Assange's internet access Saturday, 5 pm GMT, shortly after publication of (Hillary) Clinton's Goldman Sachs speeches (sic),"

--

So now, we know where the power *really* lies!

All this time and the Feds just now think of cutting off Assange's internet service? The timing certainly isn't fishy.

Hacking Goldman-Sachs made public some very embarressing information about Clinton.

He has already uploaded two files with all of the emails on them. Anyone on the internet can download them but they are encrypted. He has a deadman switch. It is probably from a service that a person can set up automatic emails that have to be answered with a password every so many hours. If the email isn't answered it sends out an email or a post with the password for the torrent files that are already available on the internet to his web site and Twitter. At that point anyone with the encrypted files can open them.

Fair enough, but then he loses control to whoever has the encryption keys, right?
