Trump pledges strong U.S. ties with India if elected president | Reuters

"We will defeat radical Islamic terrorism when I’m president. We will stand shoulder to shoulder with India in sharing intelligence and keeping our people safe mutually," said Trump.

He called India a strategic ally and that "we will be best friends" if he wins the election.

Some Left-wing morons within the Indian-American community are trying to spew their usual Left-wing crap in condemning Trump:

My own reply is posted below the article in the comments section:

Neera, your comments are ignorant and slanted to your own skewed political prejudices. Trump didn't call all illegal immigrants rapists & murderers, he said that the illegal migrant population includes rapists & murderers among them - because there is no filtering process in illegal migration. A sovereign nation is entitled to sovereign control over its borders, and its citizenry is naturally going to want control over who can enter their country, just as they would want the defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.. How can you just gloss that over? Everything you say seems to blatantly ignore or downplay national sovereignty. Why would any legal immigrant want to immigrate to a place that's a chaotic free-for-all with no law and order? Usually immigrants want to escape such places - perhaps that's also why illegal migrants from Mexico are trying to escape their country, but they need to understand that other countries will not welcome their sovereignty being trampled.

Nextly, Trump's comments about the judge presiding over his case was out of concern that the judge might be affected by racial prejudice because of Trump's own political stand on building a border wall - a political stand that he has every right and freedom to make.

We Indians have heard so much of this tripe in Indian politics for generations, and that's why the Indian Left-wing always tries to obstruct the country from properly sealing the Bangladesh border with its illegal migrant problem. Thanks to self-centered Left-wing myopes like you, India is unable to stop illegal migration which has been destabilizing India's NorthEast, which has led to ethnic conflict and violence.

Furthermore, Donald Trump has been one of the few candidates to take a strong stance against trans-nationalist terrorism -- and yes, the bulk of it is coming from radicalized Muslims. Look at the spate of terrorist attacks which have occurred across Europe, the Middle East, and certainly India over recent months. Both Manhattan and New Jersey suffered recent terrorist bombing attempts on the 15th anniversary of 9-11.

Instead of trotting out your tired and well-worn cliches about prejudice against immigrants, recognize that Indians neither identify with nor lump themselves in with those who seek to pursue violent revolution, particularly against the West. That's simply not our politics. Indians want to respect the law and assimilate - and they want those around them to do so as well. Otherwise, if the United States is reduced to a chaotic, anarchist, 3rd-world hell-hole, then why would Indian immigrants uproot themselves and sacrifice so much to come there in the first place? Don't take functional society for granted, and instead try to re-orient yourself to preserve it from the kinds of problems that are spreading across the world today.

Considering Trump would arbitrarily deny over a hundred million Indians entrance to the US, I won't take it too seriously.

The H-1B people aren't immigrants or voters, so they're not a big factor for Indian-Americans. What Indian-American supporters most admire about Trump is his strong stand against terrorism, against crime, pro-business policies, support for education reform, and a firm border. Those issues are all generally interconnected, and underpin the overall health of the United States.

Every Indian I know - and I know a lot- hates Trump with a passion. They recognize his xenophobia and hatred of brown people will make their lives miserable.

What are you talking about?

Is India a hotbed of terrorism?

People were really gratified that he came - was a great honor from him.

I just saw this report on Asian Americans and their voting preferences for 2016.

Trump has very little support among Asian Indians. Very little.

On table 4, you can see the preferences for all Asians and specifically Asian Indians for Presidential Candidates. 67% of Indian Americansasia.JPG are supporting Clintion, only 7% supporting Trump, lowest of any Asian group (although tied with the Hmong).

My next door neighbors are Indians (born there) who are also Muslims. They hate him with a passion too.
