Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me' - CNNPolitics.com

Donald Trump is launching a kamikaze mission -- fracturing his own party four weeks before Election Day.

The GOP nominee is lashing out in a stream of tweets boiling with rage and resentment, slamming House Speaker Paul Ryan for effectively cutting him loose and accusing the party leadership of dooming his campaign. It's a meltdown unprecedented by a presidential nominee this late in the year.

"It is so nice that the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to," Trump said in a tweet that raised the prospect of a full on civil war in the Republican Party. Such a battle would pit his loyal supporters against the rest of the GOP, including vulnerable lawmakers running for re-election that could threaten the party's hold on Congress.

This is the kind of crap that makes conspiracy theorists think that this entire election has just been this whole scripted reality show. The way this is building up to some kind of explosive climax is so out of Hollywood it's uncanny. If this continues along the current plot arc, the night of vote counting will be interrupted by some last minute hilarity, such as votes needing to be recounted in every state, an invasion by a foreign country, etc., and Trump and Clinton will jump in the air in a wacky freeze frame and the words "To be continued..." will appear on the screen.

I wanted to make the video start at 37 seconds. I suck at html.

Hopefully they've been replaced by a straightjacket, and we can toss him and his supporters aside while the grown ups get to work on issues.

This guy was a Democratic plant. I'm convinced of it. And congratulations to whoever did this. You managed to send in the Orange Clown to wreck the once Grand Old Party.

Issues? What Issues? You along with your whining neverTrumper's cohorts haven't discussed one issue honestly since you decided to throw your over sized temper tantrum....Like I have said many times...What ever happens from this point forward, you and progressives own it.

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

Like I said in another thread. Expect this kind of stuff from him for the next 3 weeks. He doesn't take losing well, he never has. He now knows he's going to lose.. So he'll be blaming and attacking everyone, especially the people his vicious, hateful base loves to hate. He'll blame his loss on the Clintons, the media, of course Obama, the establishment GOP. Everyone.

Scorched Earth.

Yes, that's right. We "own it." Because Democrats decided that out of, what was it, thirteen candidates?...that Trump would be the candidate to run against Clinton. Great job, geniuses.

The GOP was wrecked before Trump showed up. :peace

I don't think I've heard Trump say the words, "build the wall." once in the debate. Have you?

I can so see this happening. This is what happens when Bad Lip Reading makes more sense than the actual election.

You own Trump - you and the brain dead morons who voted for him in the primary. You will be bawling like babies when Hillary and the Dems do every nasty deed to you that you have coming because of the foolish people putting up Donald Trump. I don't own anything. I was smart enough to make every effort to stop this fraud from continuing his duping of the easily duped.

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

Just CNN pushing Crooked Hillary's PR for the day. This is what they are going to do
for the next 4 weeks.

Fun stuff to see the left getting so bothered by this! Can't wait for the next stupid new flash from CNN!

Yes, in Trumpville, the people who were smart enough to not jump on that ignorant clown's bandwagon are responsible, and the progressives who would have voted for any of the GOP candidates. Yes, it's all our fault that Trump is getting his ass handed to him by Hillary Clinton, whose popularity rivals that of Ethel Rosenberg's.

Un****ingbelievable. It's every one else's fault. But the ones who put this piece of crap in that role.

CNN put these tweets out? They hacked Trump's account? Cool!! Or maybe it was the Russian hackers? No, no not the Russians, they wouldn't hack Trump's account.

Prometheus Unbound?

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

I think the other third party, the GOP, is done for, and Trump will spearhead another legitimate third party with someone else as candidate, quite possibly Mike Pence, and challenge Hillary in 2020, assuming she isn't impeached or resigns by then.

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

because up until now, Trump has been very restrained

Yes! He has been a very subtle player. He is well admired for this by all.

Um, no. No one can keep up the idiotic facade that he has - remember how early he got on the "birther" crazy train - for an entire lifetime. To qualify my statement, yes, there are people who are able to keep up facades for decades...but in every case, such are very focused, very careful people. Trump is not focused, not careful, and never has been, not even from the days of his youth.

If you'll check back, he and his dad were quite racist in their business dealings. Trump changed when Obama started gaining momentum. I'd say that instead of being some kind of "plant" (which is by definition a conspiracy theory), the one factor that forced Trump to change from Democrat to Republican was the rise of Obama...and his eight solid years of birtherism strengthen that likelihood. Then look at Trump's comments about Mexicans, about Muslims...

...and one begins to see that what Trump was doing the whole time he was playing nice with the Clintons was to cozy up to whoever he thought was most advantageous for his businesses at the time...but when Obama began to rise in the Democratic party, that was it for Trump, and so he has allowed himself to say what he really thought when it comes to minorities...and so garnered the undying love and support of the fine fellows over at Stormfront.

In other words, he always was a racist and a misogynist...and finall went with the ones who were more likely to think as he did.

The exact thought which went through my head.

A Democratic plant that would never have worked unless a majority of Republicans actually believed this ****.

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the 5 stages of grief have already begun ....

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

If how Trump acts now is him being restrained, I'd hate to see what he'd be like when he's let loose.

Reminds me a bit of Nikita Khrushchev, with taking his shoe off and banging the table , yelling "we will bury you".

I think Trump has shown it doesn't take much to rise to power with an uncomfortable number of Republican voters. Repeat conspiracy theories you read in e-mail, endlessly claim the sky is falling, blame people who are not white and Christian for the sky falling and give lip service to the 2nd Amendment.

The sad thing is, outside of the racist remarks Trump used to start his campaign, there were several things his candidacy supposedly stood for at the beginning which could have been a refreshing change. But as time as gone on, Trump has increasingly pandered to the more extreme side of the right wing, instead of trying to recruit more of us who are in the middle.
