Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me***'[W:85]***

Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me' - CNNPolitics.com

This is the kind of crap that makes conspiracy theorists think that this entire election has just been this whole scripted reality show. The way this is building up to some kind of explosive climax is so out of Hollywood it's uncanny. If this continues along the current plot arc, the night of vote counting will be interrupted by some last minute hilarity, such as votes needing to be recounted in every state, an invasion by a foreign country, etc., and Trump and Clinton will jump in the air in a wacky freeze frame and the words "To be continued..." will appear on the screen.

Wait ... you mean he was being restrained up to now?

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

A Democratic plant that would never have worked unless a majority of Republicans actually believed this ****.

Yes, true. I was pretty much being facetious.

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

Hopefully they've been replaced by a straightjacket, and we can toss him and his supporters aside while the grown ups get to work on issues.

This guy was a Democratic plant. I'm convinced of it. And congratulations to whoever did this. You managed to send in the Orange Clown to wreck the once Grand Old Party.

Actually....the fault here lies with the voters who cast their vote making him their party nominee. He may have been a democrat at one time but he has sided up with the tea party and republican base for a very very long time. As for values....his brand of disgusting doesn't represent the values of anyone I know - both dem and republican..... so how on earth did he get the majority of votes in the republican primary?....in Trump's own words "it must have been rigged".

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

The GOP was wrecked before Trump showed up. :peace

This is actually true.

There was going to be a 'Trump" type candidate no matter what. If it wasn't Trump, it would have been someone else. The GOP created this mess, and now they have to live with it.

Yes, I did subsequently say that the fault here was with the paranoid, bigoted, ridiculous voters who were duped by this man, who had no clue how the government ran, who were birthers who are worked up because they think Obama is a Muslim, and who were cold with fear that Muslims and Mexicans were going to come in here and take all of their low wage jobs. You just have to read posts on this board from Trump supporters to realize how he did it.

So he seems to be admitting to having a campaign face and his real face. Seems like Clinton was just criticized for saying that politicians do that...

I'll tell you what, after the whole Trump fiasco, the GOP voters can never again refer to anyone else as low information voters.

The GOP just takes turns making America more Progressive. Over 100 years of moral and ethical decay now.

Most of us didn't vote for him. Can the smart ones of us who rejected that clown from the beginning refer to the people who voted for him and still support him as low information voters? Because they are.

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

Issues? What Issues? You along with your whining neverTrumper's cohorts haven't discussed one issue honestly since you decided to throw your over sized temper tantrum....Like I have said many times...What ever happens from this point forward, you and progressives own it.

President Clinton will be the Republican Party's fault.

lol, can't argue with that.

However, I will point out that the GOP did create the environment for this to happen. So they are definitely not blameless for the rise of Trump.

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

For 8 years the far right fanatics in the GOP have made Obama out to be both 1) and evil GENIUS with an agenda to take over the world, AND/OR 2) someone who is so dumb he didn't know his right hand from his left hand.

I can see already we are in for 4 or 8 more years of this BS.. According to them already Hillary is a 1) doddering old women who hasn't a clue and who drools when she eats, 2) and/or an evil genius with a global Clinton machine network that will take over the world.

The current GOP has a TON of problems. But one of the biggest is much of their base is gullible as hell. They'll believe anything.

110% correct.

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

I'd have to agree.

When the GOP political elites started ignoring the issues that their electorate wanted addressed and basically ignored those issues, illegal aliens and illegal immigration for example, the timer started on them, whether they realized it or not.

The longer the GOP political elite ignored the issues that the electorate wanted, the greater the dissatisfaction of the electorate with them. This opened an opportunity for someone like Trump to come along, start talking about the issues the electorate wanted addressed, and win the primary.

A couple of well targeted, and hugely embarrassing stories / grenades lobbed from the Clinton campaign to their favorite media to explode, and this is what we have left.

So, yes, I think the root of this outcome does lie with the GOP political elite. You can't help an electorate who is being ignored from feeling they are being ignored.

If you look at Bernie's electorate, you'll see pretty much the same thing, an electorate who's favored issues are being ignored, and they now they also feel like they are being ignored.

The GOP may very well shed it's political elite this time around. Next time around, it may be the Democratic party who will be shedding theirs with a similar amount of chaos.

Issues? What issues? The Orange Guy never spoke of any issues- just he would be the best ever at......, he will get Mexico to pay for a wall... :lamo he can make other nation's bend to his will, he can 'force' the rich to give up their tax advantages... and other steaming piles with ZERO plan on how to do any of that... :doh

No the GOP owns this hot mess and has given the election to one of the worst candidates the democrats have ever run. What ever happens from this point on, you and the so-called conservatives own it. Donald rose to the top of your stinking pile by beating all rivals within the GOP, and certainly not by issues but by red meat baiting and pot stirring...

Issues my shiny hiney.... :peace

I think this is the culmination of Tea Party madness rather than a "Democratic plant" issue.

No, they didnt merely create an environment. The fact is that Trump, and all he stands for, has been an integral and critical part of the GOP for well over 10 years. He is not the first republican to bash immigrants using crude language, or talk abusively about women, or propose building a wall on our border, or accuse Obama of being a Muslim and Hillary of being a crook

And he wont be the last, either.

The biggest lie being promoted in this election is that Trump is some sort of aberration or deviation from the GOP norm. The only thing about Trump that is exceptional is his ability to say things in a way that grabs attention. The substance of his statements are identical to what many republicans have been saying for years.

The shackles are off. Now Trump can throw poo just like any other monkey.

The USA is in such a dire state today.

If only we could go back to the Good ol' Days, am I right?

Re: Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

It seems like a challenge is that Trump in the primary said just barely enough to be taken seriously before launching into an ego-fest of craziness. The first time I saw him speak as a candidate on T.V. I didn't think it was so bad for the first five minutes or so. I wouldn't have voted for him at the time and I won't vote for him now, but for those first few minutes he seemed reasonable. In a primary where you have 10+ candidates, perhaps that was enough.

I think we are well on our way to splitting this nation into smaller countries, which would be alright with me.
