Oooopsies. Apparently the Donald hasn't listened to some of those lawyers he pays so well

Trump Foundation ordered to stop fundraising by N.Y. attorney general’s office

The New York attorney general has notified Donald Trump that his charitable foundation is violating state law – by soliciting donations without proper certification – and ordered Trump’s charity to stop its fundraising immediately, the attorney general’s office said Monday.

James Sheehan, head of the attorney general’s charities bureau, sent the “notice of violation” to the Donald J. Trump Foundation on Friday, according to a copy of the notice provided by the press office of state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, a Democrat.

. . . the Trump Foundation never registered under article 7A of New York’s Executive Law, as is required for any charity soliciting more than $25,000 per year from the public. One important consequence: Trump’s foundation avoided rigorous outside audits, which New York law requires of larger charities which ask the public for money.

Filling out a simple form was apparently seen as too much trouble. I'm sure it was one of those low level minions who screwed up. We all know what a great businessman the Orange Cheeto claims to be.

Political BS, that's only going to make the Democrat NY AG look bad, and hurt the veterans and others that the foundation was giving the money to.

Very stupid move by the NY AG.

Trump's foundation is operating without proper registration.

Some charity. In 2014, the latest year for which tax records are in the public domain, the "foundation" had 1.2 million dollars in assets and had almost $600,000 in expenses while having zero employees. It gave a grand total of fifteen thousand dollars to veterans groups.

From what I understand, they forgot to check one box. In any other reality, the state would have sent them the form to correct and refile. Unfortunately in this political reality, it's a "OH MY GOD" moment of no actual importance whatsoever. Like I said, it's political BS.

That's more money than I gave veterans groups. How about you?

Ir should be scary and perhaps a but sad when politics is so blatantly displayed by law enforcement. We saw it with the FBI not being a lapdog to one party, and we have a state AG who is using his power to try and sway an election. Some might say that what is happening on the streets with Black mails and cops falls into this category.

Maybe you should do a bit of reading before posting comments which are unsupported by reality.

When It Comes To Veterans, Donald Trump's Rhetoric Is Much More Generous Than His Giving Record

The Donald J. Trump Foundation has donated $5.5 million to 298 charities between 2009 and 2013 (the most recent year available), according to the non-profit’s 990 tax forms from those years. Of that, only $57,000 has been donated to seven organizations that directly benefit military veterans or their families, Forbes found. Wounded Warriors was not among the organizations Trump’s foundation gave to in that time period.

Forbes also found that Trump, who we estimate is worth $4.5 billion, has not made personal contributions to his foundation during the same time period.

Since he began his campaign, Trump has donated much more to veterans groups but it seems such donations only came after he was repeatedly questioned about his claims
May 31, 2016
At least $1.9 million of the donations to veterans groups that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump reported on Tuesday came in last week, after Trump began responding to intense media scrutiny of his earlier claims about raising in excess of $6 million for veterans. Trump said on Tuesday that his efforts raised a total of $5.6 million.
(snip)
The donations came in from a combination of sources, including the Donald J. Trump Foundation, various groups and individuals who cited Trump's efforts along with their donations, and Trump himself.

In January of this year, Trump skipped a GOP debate and held his own televised fundraiser for veterans. At the end of the night, Trump proclaimed it a huge success: “We just cracked $6 million, right? Six million.” But some reason, no groups received any funding until May. Trump's excuse, he "didn't want credit."
Finally, he offered reasons for the delay in releasing the list of recipients. Trump said organizations needed to be vetted to ensure their legitimacy and their nonprofit status. "We needed to vet the vets." Plus, he insisted that he wanted to do all of this privately, that he "didn't want credit." One reporter asked, if Trump didn't want credit, then why repeatedly remind people at events and on television that he'd raised $6 million for veterans? Isn't that "taking credit" the reporter added? Trump responded, "It's not."
To me at least, it looks like Trump is donating to veterans charities simply for political reasons as he runs a disaster of a campaign.

Maybe you should learn to determine the difference between an opinion and a factual statement. I gave my opinion, which the info you posted, which I am and was aware of, has not been changed.

BTW, I think Trump is awful, and am not going to vote for him. I just get tired of reading about political BS like this. This action by the NY AG will harm more people than shutting down an exit on a bridge for a few hours ever did. Maybe you should also learn some perspective before you post? Just a thought.

What???

I just got a notice in the mail from my local police department telling me I owe them $350 because my house alarm went off when I wasn't home because I forgot to lock the sliding glass door. Then the dog nuzzled it open and the alarm went off. So then the cops showed up, found nothing wrong and left.

I have to pay $350 for that, but that bloated orange gasbag can operate without a license and it should all be hunky dory? Sure, that seems equitable.

And New York doesn't have to do anything to help Hillary. She's going to win that state in a landslide. Conservatives are huge on self-accountability until comes to the orangutan balloon animal they're voting for.

I don't have a charity that pays me $600,000 a year. How about you? And none of the money came from Trump. He donated nothing to Veterans.

Everyone should know by now that Trump used this foundation as a personal piggy bank to settle lawsuits, bribe government officials, and pay for personal expenses. He should count his blessings that he isn't being prosecuted for fraud and embezzlement.

He isn't very generous, is he? No surprise. Trump is a narcissist. He only cares about himself.

Not all conservatives are voting for him. Take, for instance, me. I wouldn't vote for that piece of garbage for anything. He's a lying snake.

This "foundation" of his is pathetic. I sit on the Boards of two animal rescues that do more to help animals that Trump does to help anyone other than himself.

Interesting rant. Totally unrelated to anything I said, but interesting nonetheless.

There's evidence in this very thread that counters what you say.

That's the rumor and the media accusation - where's the actual proof, the evidence, not a story in a newspaper that quotes unnamed sources and/or makes conclusions based off of circumstantial evidence and not actual proof.

Look, again, I don't like the guy at all, and I'm not going to vote for him... but, the truth is the truth, and facts are facts. Political hit squad rhetorical BS is neither truth nor fact.

Just 1 point. His charities have been in the news. I think it would have been smart for his lawyers-campaign staff to have ensured that all the ducks were lined up in a row regrading this.

OMG!!!

I just got a telephone call from Prince of Sudan telling me he has millions of dollars in a off shore account that he can't get access too because he was overthrown by an illegal group of rebels. Thankfully, the money can be accesses if I send him $5,000 dollars to get the money unfrozen and he can get access to his money sharing half with me.

I only get half for that, but that camel riding thunder chicken can get all of it without sharing? That seems equitable.

And the French Marauder's don't have to send a dime to crumpets. Crumpets are delicious. The dalmatians are cheese doodle red cart flip flop flarney flue.

No there isn't. There is a misstatement in this thread that Trump donated to charities. What the poster meant was that a charity function Trump hosted on television as a campaign gimmick gave money to charity.

Afternoon my friend.

Of course it would. It's not hard to believe that mistakes could have been made, but with what I'm sure his lawyers are charging him, mistakes shouldn't happen. However, getting ducks, or any other form or kind of animal, in line has not been a hallmark of the Trump campaign.
