Kim Kardashian West robbed of millions by Paris gunmen - BBC News

US reality TV star Kim Kardashian West has been robbed at gunpoint at a luxury residence in Paris by at least two men dressed as police officers, her publicist and police say.

A box containing jewellery worth up to €6m (£5.2m; $6.7m) was among items taken, a police spokesman said.

The concierge led the gunmen to the residence where they tied Kardashian West up in the bathroom, police said.

I wonder what kind of security her insurers deemed appropriate for travelling with €6 million worth of jewellery. It would be awful to have her policy voided for under-insurance or inadequate security measures.

IMO, it's crazy to travel with nearly $10M in jewels. But, I'm one of those sad sacks that considers a $5K engagement ring excessive.

I'm one of those who thinks that in all likelihood, the robbers came by that jewellery in only a marginally more dishonest way than the Kardashian did.

They were probably paid by Kenye to rob them so they could get their money back through insurance.

All jokes and theories aside, it's pretty scary to be held up at gun point and she didn't deserve this. I hope they catch the people responsible.
 
No, nobody deserves this. Some of the jewelry may have been on loan. If you haven't seen her ring, it's worth $3-4 million all by itself.

But I have to say that Pimp Mama Kris must be cackling at how all of this can be exploited.

My first instinct was to think this was faked to get attention.
 
That's a good instinct. I've never seen the reality show, but I do read the Daily Mail daily and can't avoid seeing Kartrashian headlines. Every single day. Obviously, millions of people actually care about these people, and they make serious bank on it. It's a mystery to me. How many times can they display their bits for the camera before their fans become bored?

Wow. That's very scary. I'm not surprised she travels with so much jewelry. I remember watching one episode a long time ago when she lost an earring when someone pushed her in the water on a vacation and she started bawling because it was worth a lot of money.

The Kardashians are the creation of United Talent Agency, and BWR Public Relations.

Everything they do, tweets, etc., is contracted and paid for. Nothing they make public is not paid for.

They are nothing but a product. For example, the exotic cars aren't theirs, they are provided for a period of time for promotional consideration. In effect, short term leases.

The daughter in law of a very close personal friend is a Talent Agent for CAA in NY and confirms all the above.
 
Kim is in France for a fashion show. That is why she is traveling with such a large amount of jewelry Has it been determined if it was her personal jewls or stuff designers lent her to get their name out?

It will be hard to sell the pieces as is. They are too recognisable in their current form. They will need to be cut and sold. The more people who become involved the greater the chance someone screws up. These folks will end up getting caught on a bad business deal IMO.

The radio said the thiefs dressed up as cops to gain entry .
 
Okay, so they LIVE in Paris part of the year? So she was robbed at her own apartment.

I was just listening to a radio show and they said that there are already reports of inconsistencies making people think this is another Lochte event. Why would they make that up?

I've read the speculation that this was an inside job. I've also read at the Hollywood Reporter today that in Paris, some are skeptical that this for real.

I think it was. Why? Because as she hurried to her private plane at a private airport, she was entirely covered by a black blanket or something. Any of the Kartrashians ever miss a photo op or cover up their bits? Ha.

The thieves went immediately for the 20-carat ring she's been flashing. What will be interesting, if leaked, was what was one the two cell phones stolen. Besides thousands and thousands of selfies, I mean.

Generally hotels have security cameras everywhere so there is a good chance they can catch them if they want to.

They wore masks and appear to have been prepared and organized. So I doubt they used a vehicle that trace back to them easily.

5 people is a lot of mouths to keep closed, though. Odds are one of them will slip up somewhere.
