Because a decent, or at least knowledgeable person, decent or not, understands we are still very much in the economic doldrums.

Its taxing and spending by both sides of the aisle and the intractable unwillingness of the Left side to even consider cuts in either, along with over regulation and burdening us with sillinesses like Obamacare... that hold down the American spirit, innovation and desire to lead [ not from behind ] that is obvious to all but the over partisan, decent or not.

You seem to have little clue about the state of the economy, of jobs, good jobs, full time work and actual workforce numbers vs those employed. Stock market seems fine, multinationals that the establishment of both sides promote are doing fine generally, just the rest of us are overburdened with taxes, the prospect of laying all this debt obligation on our children and now the Obamacare complexities that tend to put one in a mental state of unease.

You are significantly mis-representing the state of the economy which is doing much better than it was in the final 3 months of Dubya's, H.W.'s or Reagan's administrations. Why is an economy that is doing much better than under three Repblican presidents 'in the doldrums' when the economy was tanking under those three?

Since your claims about the economy's state relative to previous presidents doesn't add up, I'm left to make my own guesses as to your motives for being so dishonest.

The administration prefers to refer to them as undocumented Democrats. They can vote without being citizens but it's clearly preferable for them to become citizens first. I wonder if they can make people citizens after they've died?

I was chatting with a woman who goes to nursing homes at election time to coerce elderly patients into signing already completed abesentee ballots. She said she was simply "helping them vote" and I questioned the fact that the ballots had already had the selections marked. "Well, some of the elderly are so confused they don't know who they should vote for so I help them." She really didn't see anything wrong with that.

I'm sure the Democrats see nothing wrong with mass citizenship drives right before elections, either. I wonder if they have to sign their already completed absentee ballots before they get sworn in.

Uhh, the right to vote and the responsibility to vote are the prerogative of the individual citizen, and not the state.

Suppose a Republican govt were to use govt money to give special chauffeuring for Republican voters to get them to the voting machines? Democrats would immediately cry foul.

This is about giving special preference to those who will vote Democrat -- that's what's really driving the Obama regime to do this. It's their game to stack the deck in their favor as much as possible.



that is a routine action by a federal agency this time of year with the oct 1 fiscal new year looming
'use it or lose it' is also a truism about federal budgets
would not surprise me that there were budgeted but unused overtime hours available to be spent
and the agency spent them doing the agency's naturalization work

Naturalization has nothing to do with registering to vote. As a citizen, whether or not you register to vote is upto you. The govt should have nothing to do with it.

Incorrect. There is no deadline that they need to meet other than the self imposed "before the election", and no OT that needs to be burned. The department budgets don't work that way.

Exactly....it's not like they just arrived yesterday and can become a citizen today. There is a process involved....apply for temporary residency...then permanent residency.... then you can apply for citizenship 5 years after becoming a permanent resident or if you are married to a US citizen the wait time is 3 years.

They see themselves as being on a holy crusade. That's never good. In some states, what they're doing is illegal but they're almost never prosecuted. In some states it's not illegal.

In some states what she is doing would be illegal but she would probably never be charged. She sees herself on a holy crusade and really believes that she can tell people how they should vote. Of course, a lot of people here take the same position.

for yours to work there would have to be a federal agency charged with chauffeuring republican voters to the polls
and there is no such agency charged with accomplishing that task
for the agency described in the OP it DOES have a legal obligation to naturalize citizens, thereby rendering them eligible to vote

actually, in my community, there are voter registration stations established at the exit of the naturaliztion office to serve these newly minted citizens who intend to use their newfound right to vote. the statue of liberty is smiling

Florida hasn't just Cuban Hispanics... I taught for 17 years and very few of my students were of Cuban descent, although we had many of Puerto Rican descent. Cuban families, probably more than all other Hispanic groups generally, have a desire for education, along with hard work and effort... a real desire to get ahead. Most of our Hispanics came from Mexico, Central and South America, many many from Venezuela and Colombia. But good numbers from Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Argentina and Chile. We also had a ton of students from Brazil, technically not Hispanic but definitely Latin American.

Particularly my Mexican students and their parents, in general, were not much interested about education and many of the students not at all enthused with being in the US. I worked after school for several years in a special program to assist these students acclimate, learn the language... so I have personal experience, however anecdotal but fairly consistent trend wise over several years in Central Florida.

I've been working in government for 30 years and it has never worked that way. There is no use-or-lose OT. There is use or lose LEAVE, and use-or-lose COMP TIME, but they are both time OFF of work, not extra hours.

In your 24 years did a boss ever tell you to work OT on a project that had no deadline?

Sorry brother, you asserted it. Can't back it up, especially after others here have reasonably established you don't have a leg to stand on? That is a drop, an unsupported assertion as you cannot substantiate the validity of your point.
