Six former New York City correction officers returned to Rikers Island — this time as inmates — after being sentenced on Friday to prison terms of from four and a half years to six and a half years for their roles in the brutal beating of an inmate there in 2012.

Yes!! THIS is what you do to bad cops!!

Article is here.

Incredibly stupid to send them to their same prison. They should split the 6 up among 6 other prisons.

Word would get out eventually. Location is probably not relevant.

I can't say I agree with sending them back to the same prison. That seems incredibly irresponsible of the state to put them in that kind of danger.

Riker's is not a state prison per se, but a jail facility. They will end up transferring to one of the state prisons to serve their sentences. Might be Attica.

It's a good thing to get bad cops. I would never wish them ass-raped, though. As to sending them to the prison they worked in, we don't know how that came about. For their sentencing, Rikers is the only "local" choice. The convicted officers may have wanted to be near family. Elsewhere would have put a strain on travel and time too much to bear. That's one of the many things that comes to bear on the many people sent to prison for non-violent offenses that tend to be black and end up breaking up families.

I'm not worried about these guys getting hurt, they are going to form their own 6 person gang for protection.

Don't want the time? Don't do the crime. ;)

The use of special prison arraignments for past government employee criminals should be discouraged, if not outlawed. They can always ask for administrative segregation (solitary confinement in a private cell) but overcrowding may not allow for it.

Putting them in the same prison is a bad idea for two reasons.

1. Some inmates likely don't like them and want their revenge.
2. They know the guards and if there is any other bad cops there they can use their connections to their advantage.

That is true for many repeat guests and gang members.

We call them pallbearers in OH.!

Doubtful they will still have access to roids and 6 against the entire prison won't work out well for them. They might be somewhat safe in solitary confinement.

Well...bless their hearts then.

Nothing better than hearing about corrupt bully thug cops about to get ass raped.

Nobody needs to be ass raped. Convicts just need to do their time, and hopefully learn a lesson from it.

Unless maybe, they get put into seperate cellblocks.

So you want them to get illegally abused? This post is ironic.
