Ferguson Protest Leader Darren Seals Found Dead in Vehicle

The body of an activist from St. Louis who led protests about the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., in 2014 was found with a gunshot wound in the charred remains of a vehicle on Tuesday morning, according to the police and news accounts.

The activist, Darren Seals, 29, was found inside the vehicle on Diamond Drive in Riverview in St. Louis County around 1:50 a.m., the St. Louis County Police Department said in a statement. The vehicle had been on fire and he was found after the flames were extinguished.

The police said Mr. Seals had lived at an address on Millburn Drive in St. Louis, about 12 miles from where his body was found. The case is being investigated as a homicide by the department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons. The motive for the killing was unknown.

The police identified Mr. Seals as Daren Seals, although other records listed the spelling of his first name as Darren, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

On his Twitter account, Mr. Seals described himself as a businessman, revolutionary, activist and “Unapologetically BLACK, Afrikan in AmeriKKKa, Fighter, Leader.”

It could also simply be a robbery gone bad where the robber tried to cover their tracks. It could be a gang hit. Could have been done by the wife for all we know. It could be any number of things. None having to do with BLM or the government. Let's wait to hear what the evidence says?

Nah, let's blame police racism and riot first. ;)

Good riddance.

A similar crime happened there two years ago. Deandre Joshua was found dead of a gunshot wound in a burning car. 5 other men were found dead of gunshot wounds in burning vehicles in this area since. All are unsolved. The fact that the people who live in this area have been mum on these very public murders suggests to me that it's all gang related.

Just another Black man killed by a Black man. Be real. It wasn't any gvt conspiracy or BLM power struggle. Just another day in the hood.

That's depressing. :doh

It really is quite depressing. What pisses me off is that the focus is on stupid stuff like BLM instead of #BlackViolence.

Nothing to see here.. Just another clinton coverup.. Prolly knew too much about something and.. Whack...

OH PLEASE, OH PLEASE, Somebody(PREFERABLY A WELFARE LIBERAL)Please open a "Rest In Peace" Thread for our dear, departed Darren.

If anyone wants to see more done about the atrocities black inflict on other black people, then start an organization with that as your goal.

BLM was never about bringing attention to black on black violence.* It never was a goal of the group to organize a demonstration against drug addiction and gang violence in a community.** BLM is a group focused on the brutality communities are subjected to from the police, with an emphasis on white police over using that force disproportionately on minorites.

BLM was a good catchphrase but it does not represent the movements organizing principals.

No matter what I may think of the person I still send my condolences to their loved ones in their time of pain.

So, does this mean that his homies would insist on us saying, "Rest In Peace, Bro?" or maybe, "Hey, I din' wanna buss a cap in yo' ass, but you knew the rules?"

I wonder if you would be man enough to say those remarks face to face to one of his grieving friends or would sheepishly cower away.

Loosing someone close is painful, even if that person was an asshole to others.

I disagree with almost everything Darren said or did. I just don't see the need to be a disrespectful about his death. Others seem to disagree.

Greetings, Jack. :2wave:

Very interesting and informative article! It's sad that the MSM does not cover this, where most people get their news!

On a happier note, I hope you are having a fun birthday, as many have wished for you today! :2dance:

Good evening, polgara, and thanks:2wave:

A nice quiet birthday. Bigger celebration will come Saturday when children & grandchildren visit.

Yeah, because white cops killing blacks is clearly why Chicago has 500 homicides already in 2016. smfh

Yikes! That's an unusual combo, but it is your birthday to celebrate as you wish! :lamo

Chillfolks,

Yes, I would say what I said to one of his friends face to face, as long as I knew in advance that the dude didn't have a gun or a knife. I'm pretty good sized and most folks leave me alone.

Now, if we're talking about 4 or 5 of his bereaved friends, then I'd be carrying.
