Why hundreds of Native Americans have gathered in North Dakota to block an oil pipeli

Re: Why hundreds of Native Americans have gathered in North Dakota to block an oil pi

I don't know enough specifics of this particular case, but in general, everyone who's against oil pipelines needs to Google 'Lac Megantic'.
I can't cut-and-paste with this device, but that disaster involved a train of rail tankers carrying crude from the Bakken Formation.
The oil will move to market. The question is, how?

The check wasn't big enough.

Yup the first nonPC but truthful post

Truthful? A flippant comment you just pulled out of your ass?

True, but there have also been quite a few oil pipeline leaks, one in CA wasn't even detected until it has caused a lot of damage. And other pipelines, like the gas pipeline, also in CA that was leaking for a long time before anyone actually figured it out. Pipelines tend to go unsupervised, even though they claim that they will be supervised and checked and so on. They don't do it. Rail accidents happen, at least we know about them right now, not months from now as with pipelines.

Impressed, I am not.

Nope, just spend my entire life living near, or some time working on Rezs. While I truly believe there is a minority who truly believe in the spiritual nature of their beliefs, culture and sovereignty ,..........most nope, just a pay-day will do.

BS, pipelines are factual and statistically a safer way to transport oil. FAR MORE SAFER than rail or OTR.

And all that crap has nothing to do with this story, it's just bs you pulled out of your ass. Just a chance for you to beak off with nothing to say about the topic.

That's an allegation,not a "truth".
Where in the article does it state that?
Do you have any evidence to support your allegation?

When there are no problems, yeah. But when they break, they have an unlimited supply of oil to spill til they are found to be leaking, both time and attention are against the pipeline because they would allow much greater spills. For other means, there is limited supply in that only the amount of oil on those trains or trucks are involved, and immediate response also limits the longer term cleanup and environmental effects.

You are totally ignorant about modern pipes. Ever heard of modern pressure censors? Do you know how long it takes to alert a modern system of a leak? Do you know how soon the system knows (within just a matter of a few miles) where the leak is? Do you know how long it takes for a modern system to shut off oil flow at the sign of a leak?

The ignorance of the activists is mind freaking boggling.

PS. Buffet/BH has HUGE stock in oil transport/rail. WTF do you think the MSM/Dems are going to indoctrinate you with?

Won't be long for the 'Why do we care about what the drunks living off the government tit have to say' comments start rolling in

Yes, that happened in post #2. Ironically by you.

By saying "safer" is an assumption that the others ways of transportation are "safe". So, what are the standards for what is "safe", or maybe a definition technical to the transportation of oil? We are attempting a meaningful discussion without agreement on meaning of terms. Such as, what does "safe" mean?
