The U.S. Department of Justice cannot spend money to prosecute federal marijuana cases if the defendants comply with state guidelines that permit the drug's sale for medical purposes, a federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday.

This, my friends, is the beginning of the end of the War on Drugs. In about 8 minutes it will be 4:20. At that time, light up a fatty and toast to victory.

Control it, regulate it and tax it - all in the name of freedom. ;)

Hmm... can states now blow off federal enforcement of other CDS listed items? This could be the start of something big.

Not that I care, but wouldn't the supremacy clause come into play here?

Only those of us in WA and CO, that is...at least for now

What? Add Oregon, Alaska and DC to that list. But this case concerned medical marijuana rules for production. 25 states currently allow medical marijuana.

If CA goes recreational this November it's near a done deal nationally.

A big deal for pot in the 9th Circuit, but there's a lot more to the WoD than pot in the 9th.

Actually - there's a lot more to the WoD than drugs, and that's going to be near impossible to turn back.

IMNSHO, the WoD has been one of the worst things the government has fostered upon its citizens.

It won't be the end of the War on Drugs, but it's likely the scaling back of the War on Drugs on the Marijuana front.

No problem with this as long as the people want it. If they vote for it, then all in.
