Video Shows Unarmed Black Man Pleading With Arms Raised

... but the cops shot him anyway:

Video Shows Unarmed Black Man Pleading With Arms Raised Before Getting Shot by Police

Video shows moments before North Miami Police shot unarmed man – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

This person who was shot was a caregiver to an autistic boy. Police had been summoned to the scene over a call about a person with a gun threatening suicide. They thought the boy was holding a threatening object, which was later found to be a toy truck.

Oh well, at least nobody's dead. This is why better non-lethal weapons need to be developed, to allow police better options than just lethal force.

And then they candcuff him. Unbelievable.

The way to stop this **** is swift justice. No three-month investigation. Thirty days. This officer should lose his job and be prosecuted. Until we are willing to do that, we will have violence in the streets.

So wrong.

Edit...honestly? When I see things like this, I'm ready to protest.

Oh my....

Just one way to describe this situation. A very bad shoot!
Absolutely no reason to use deadly force. None!

Something like this really plays into the narrative that police officers are a threat to black males!
The officer that shot him should not be on the street anymore.

If BLM had used cases like this instead of Michael Brown, Eric Gardner and the host of other criminals doing the wrong thing when they were shot, it would have gone a long way to legitimizing their complaint. But, since they didn't, the real bad police shootings, like this one, got lost in the noise.

I don't know that this had anything to do with race. While that certainly can't be ruled out, based on what we see, it seems that one of the cops just plain lost it. There sure wasn't anything in the video that indicated a threat.

It's as if current events related to the issue of police aggression and brutality, at this particular time in our history, is almost guided by the hand of providence.

It's as if nature, or God, or whatever, is forcing us to face this issue.

With automatic weapons, one accidental touch to the trigger can fire three shots.

It doesn't take three pulls.

So IF they were carrying M-16s, for example, that could explain an accidental three shots.

As far as the handcuffing goes, that's normal procedure and required.

It's probably more a case of intense Media attention to any shooting. That's been increasing since the Ferguson riots.

I thought of that too. If that's true, and it has been like this for decades/centuries, without coming under the light, then perhaps providence is necessary.

Well, the past two years have demonstrated that there are very few unjustified shootings by police, but I agree that some have probably been covered up in the past and all should be investigated carefully by a second agency.

What in the **** is this?

They shot the guy on the ground with his hands up?

If anyone would have gotten shot, I would think it would be the autistic man. I would still be a bad shoot. Millions of cops all over the world know how to safely investigate a situation with a mentally incompetent person without resorting to "shoot first, ask questions later," but I wouldn't be surprised if that had happened.

BUT THEY SHOT THE GUY WITH HIS HANDS UP?

And not, like, the moment they saw him with some kind of fear he might react (still a bad shoot, but again, wouldn't be surprising). They shot him after an extended stand-off during which he cooperated fully and explained the situation in full.

I just can't... What the **** is this? And why is the Miami police department not saying anything about this IMMEDIATELY?

How can people be surprised there's so much bad blood against cops when this is the kind of crap some of them do?

Lol, this is a dream.

Still brainstorming whether there are any possible ways to blame the victim.

Do we know if he illegally sold Playdoh as a 7 year old?

What I don't understand is why couldn't the cops tell it was a toy truck? The guy was screaming "it's a toy truck" and the cops should have binoculars and scopes, I would think it should b very easy to tell at this range.

It's just so insane.

I'd charge him with a felony, perhaps if no intent something just short of attempted murder.

I think it was totally accidental. Going by where he was shot. If it were intentional I think he would've been aiming more center mass.

Yeah I think it'll boil down to the dumbass had his finger on the trigger rather than down the side of the trigger housing and got too antsy by accident.

For 1 shot maybe...
For 3 shots in the same leg? Not frikken way. That is aimed fire.
That is like a suicide with 3 shots to the head with a pump action shotgun. From behind.

With a compliant man laying down with his hands clearly visible posing?
The only more compliant thing the guy could have done, is what exactly?

Please notice the non-compliant man did not get shot.

He was shot once in the leg. Where did this rumor of three shots come from?

Just an accident. Nothing to see here. Move on.

Maybe automatic cop defenders will take a step back to evaluate the 'automatic' part of their stances in police shootings.
Without video, it might have been black man attacking white man or something similar.

When there are videos of police yelling 'camera!' during an arrest when they spot a camera phone...
When there are videos of police mysteriously being 'accidentally' erased, turned off or police 'accidently' moving off frame...
When there are videos of police yelling 'don't reach for my gun' when the suspect (for lack of a better word) is several feet away...
When there are videos of police planting evidence...
When there are videos of police bullying people to give up their rights...
When there are videos of police seizing property without due process...

The police don't deserve automatic respect just because of the badge. It may be they have never deserved automatic respect just because of the badge. There have certainly been enough instances of people being released or pardoned because the police or really the justice system screwed them over. And I don't think the appearance of cameras suddenly turned all the cops, in the videos, bad. Maybe they can't help themselves when they see/know a camera is recording, they turn into Mr Hyde.

Please note (this especially means YOU, tres) that I did NOT say that the police don't deserve respect. They do... if they earn it while wearing the badge.

Silly.

There is no video of the shooting, so we don't know what happened at the time the shot was fired.

At this point there is no evidence that police did anything wrong.

When we see video of the time the shot was actually fired we will know.

Otherwise.......wild speculation.

I'm guessing it was an accident because an aimed shot would have struck the body (and probably the body of the man in front).

You know... you're right. It's kinda hard to accidentally pull a trigger three times.

Apologies. It seems he was hit once but
Police ended up firing three times, striking Kinsey in the leg.

Was it the same officer who fired 3 shots or did 3 officers 'panic'. They are only reporting about one officer firing. Maybe they are wrong...

It came from the Assistant Police Chief. Shot three times... hit once.

North Miami Assistant Police Chief, Neal Cuevas, told The Miami Herald that police ordered Mr Kinsey and his patient to lie on the ground before an officer fired three times, striking Kinsey in the leg. No weapon was found.

Right. If this police officer was just out to kill black people he wouldn't have shot him in the leg.
