Does anybody here REALLY, no, I mean REALLY believe that there is any living, breathing Republican is this whole country who wants to lose this election to Hillary ****ing Clinton? For real?????

Has it ever dawned on anybody that this whole gig is just the full Monty. Trump is a showman! Like the WWF isn't real, it's a show. This #NeverTrump bull**** is to keep suckers glued to their TVs. Wake up! It's called FREE ADVERTISING! How many democrap suckers watched the old dog and pony tonight? C'mon, be honest.

Now, ask yourself this....how many Republicans will even turn on the TV on the nights when your Convention gets trotted out?

Trump loses, with a high percentage of votes from his party going to a Libertarian politician, showing that Trump winning in such large numbers in the primary remained pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Hillary wins. I base this on Hillary having 17 million supporters 2 years ago -- compared to Donald's 14 million who is still somewhere within a million under Hillary this year.

The audience gave me a healthy new opinion of the GOP. I believe some of them truly are fighting for the soul of a party who doesn't want to the first to be Kardashianed out of existence; there is still hope that the GOP will survive Trump and not become the laughing stock of the 21st century. The first reality TV star president.

OK, thank you for a solid reply. Truthfully, I thought you'd try to skip. I've got no bone to pick with you, in fact, I appreciate your passion. I'll admit openly that, even for me, Trump is a tough call. In the final analysis, though, I know Hillary and Bill, and they are worse than syphilis. All I have to do now is convince myself that Trump is only clamydia.

If he is what he says he is, on balance, we will be better off. The hot buttons:trade, immigration, national security, war footing are all in his wheelhouse. I believe that being a little less global and a little more protective are policies which are in our best national interests NOW. Ten years form now, everything may be different. Like Churchill and the Brits during WWII. They couldn't have made it without him, but the minute it was over, they kicked his ass out and didn't even say goodbye. For everything, there is a season.

Regarding the soul of the party:it is in flux. Us hardworking stiffs turned our backs and let the "party" muckity-mucks run the show. Unfortunately, they ran it into the ground. There are a lot of REALLY pissed off folks out here. I know a lot of them. Flyover types, Eastern seaboard gentry, money movers, they are freaking hot. We gave them the Senate and the House, and the first thing they did was ram it up our poop shoot. In this age of instant communication, that dog won't hunt. The Mitch McConnells of the world can pound sand. There is a new sheriff in town.

For fun, I'll say Trump wins. As a part of my fantasy, I'll say he gives us some solid Justices on The Court, he erases some bad executive orders, he creates some jobs, and he rebuilds our military with all new technology and armament. The tech sector rebounds from the doldrums of inventing new Pokemon games and contributes to our national security. We figure out healthcare. Tax credits bring offshore industry back home and the country slowly goes back to work. Paychecks support localities and you and I get to go a ball game every now and then. I'll probably buy you a beer.

I'm old enough to know that nothing is perfect. Consequently, I've decided not to waste any more of my valuable time trying to achieve it. Trump will never make it to Mt. Rushmore, but neither will Jimmy Carter. We'll probably survive. Remember, this country of ours is a marathon, not a 100 yard dash. The days can never know what only the years can see.

You have skills. Apply them positively.

Lmao, no he wouldn't. I'm simply stating that eventually and with a growing population, it is only a matter of time before GOP candidates keep surpassed each other. That said, Trump's problem isn't a lot of people voting for him, it's a lot of people voting against him. They aren't going away.

Except of course there has never been any party wide doubt as to whether Clinton or Obama have liberal stripes. Large percentages of the GOP has never believed Romney was a true red conservative. That number is exponentially higher with Trump. You should see this as a problem.

You don't win based on how many people vote for you, you win based on how many don't. Trump has a problem of millions within his party not voting for him, and voting against him.

The record number of registered Republicans who voted for him obviously didn't see that as a problem.

The squeaky wheel always gets the grease. The minority establishment doesn't like Trump, because he isn't a political insider.

That's why he received a record number of votes.

The biggest part of the population increase is minorities. They are not voting for Trump.
