Unemployment rate (U-3) rises 0.2% to 4.9%

Unemployment rate for black men ages 18-20: 55 percent.

Of course I know what it is and it's at a 36 year low.

The Labor Force Participation rate was 62.7% in June 2016. In November 2016 it was 62.4%. So you're wrong right there.

But wait, there's more.....In 1977 when the participation rate first hit 62.4% then 62.7%, those were record breaking highs.

Basically, from 1947 to 1999 the rate went up, and since then it's gone down.

I know the labor participation rate isn't high right now.

I don't see how that's a response to anything I said in that post, but perhaps you meant to reply to upsideguy.

In my view, LFPR isn't really much of an issue economically, although it has taken on some importance politically, at least among those on the Right who seek to cast the labor market in a bad light.

Texas's unfunded liabilities pale in comparison

No, the figure you cited is a subset of the state's unfunded liabilities. The total, as I posted in #56, is nearly $300 billion, more than $11K per capita. — (multiple sources)

These statistics vary widely depending on what's included. This source has per capita public debt for Texicans at $13,083 in 2012, a couple o' grand more than the figure I offered previously.

>>And of-course, Texas has had a budget surplus for some time

>>I'm still not seeing any lessons that California could teach Texas.

You don't see things directly in front of you.

>>a State that has been hemorrhaging jobs … and residents over the last 8 years … . [T]he Left thinks higher taxes and burdensome regulations create jobs

Like some others on the Right, you think lying is a winning tactic. You lie and lie and lie.

Employment is up 12.4% in CA since 2010, with 1.8 million private-sector jobs added.

private_emp_CA_1990_2015.jpg

TX is up 14.5% over that period, adding 1.5 million.

California had a net total migration 2010-2015 of 556K, while Texass gained 1.15 million residents.

>>California's recent job growth can be attributed to a substantial increase in Public sector jobs

Public-sector employment in CA last month was 2.502 million, up one percent from Feb 2010. And yes, that increase has occurred recently, because as of last May, gubmint workers in CA were down 1.3% from Feb 2010.

Unemployment rate for black men ages 18-20: 55 percent.

Another frequent liar with one of his favourites. The rate last month was 29.1%. (source) Why do you keep wildly exaggerating that measure? I realise yer just rebarfing a lie from RW hate media, but you should know by now that these figures you post for black youth unemployment are always way off.

Argue with your own kind.

That PolitiFact article explains the variation between those figures — U-6 vs. U-3 and a more narrowly defined population.

And yeah, Sanders and PolitiFact are my own kind, as opposed to those who characteristically don't know what they're talking about.

So you are agreeing its a good thing.... people can afford to retire, stay at home with their kids or good to school. The economy is healthy!

Umm...LMAO! Obama's economy is so good, that people don't have to work?
