Hollywood suspect in custody had arsenal, camouflage outfit

I saw the press conference ahead of the parade. Some FBI agent said there was no credible threat. I don't know what that means when they've just arrested a guy from out-of-state with a car loaded with pipe bomb materials, guns, and ammo who said he was waiting for a "friend" and was headed for the Pride parade. They're still looking for the "friend."

There most likely is a credible threat, but they likely downplayed the threat for various reasons. There was an out of state guy who tried to attack fort hood years back, went awol from the army when they charged him with child pornagraphy, came to texas and bought a crapload of blackpowder substitute.

Of course how he got caught was simple, people who shoot blackpowder guns do not by 20 pounds of powder, with no primers, flint, ammo etc. To make it easier to find he asked the gunowner his opinion on making explosives, which added a red flag to a red flag. The gun shop owner sold him what he wanted then phoned the police and fbi as soon as he left the building, and they later found him at his hotel.

I would not be surprised at all if this guy had walked into a gun store and bought 50 pounds of powder,2000 rounds of ammo, and then went down to home depot and bought a drill, some drill bits and a crapload of pie end caps. The latter theroetically would raise heavy suspicion, while the former would cause any sane gunshop to phone it in as suspicious, especially large purchases of powder with no other blackpowder or reloading supplies.

I am sure most of the victims were American, though certainly not all. But that isn't my point. I'm not making a political statement. When I told my friends in uniform to be extra careful out there in light of the attacks on recruiting stations nobody replied, "These were attacks on Americans".

If course you're making a political statement. You're trying to run cover for the Muslim terrorists and try to make this look like your garden variety hate crime against gays.

Even if it isn't connected to what happened in Orlando, we all know how these types of things can spread via copy cats. To all of our LGBT friends here at DB, keep living your life but be extra aware of your surroundings in the coming days.

Will do!

If he was white and christian, his name would be all over the internet. It would have been in the original article in an attempt to offset the Muslim terrorist attack in Florida.

Apparently the two incidents are "unrelated."

Domestic terrorists usually wear camouflage outfits. Muslims...not so much.

Their clothes aren't much of an indicator.

You're acting like one sick piece of **** right now, you know that?

Look man, I know liberal heads are spinning because a member of one PC group murdered 50 members of another PC group, but there's no need for the personal attacks.

Personal attacks? You just accused me of covering for terrorists!

And you called me a piece of ****.

In response. If you don't want people making personal attacks against you then perhaps you shouldn't hurl them yourself.

And being told that you are acting like a piece of **** is nowhere in the same category as telling someone they are covering for terrorists.

I will, however, excuse myself from this exchange since I think we can both agree it isn't productive.

Well, it kind of is...

Police searched Scarsella's Bloomington home for white supremacist paraphernalia and found camouflage clothing, ammunition and several firearms, including an AR-15 rifle, according to the warrant obtained by the Star-Tribune.

Not that it really matters, but to be accurate it was Santa Monica, not Hollywood.

It was West Hollywood...which has a huge Gay community.

I know. The headline is wrong which is why I corrected it. He was from Indiana and taken into custody in Santa Monica. That he was targeting a gay parade in West hollywood is speculation at this point.

Headline from the OP link....

The suspect told the police that he was there for the "Gay Pride Parade" which is held annually in West Hollywood.

No, it wouldn't. You are just off gassing stupid posts again.

There will be a lot of those and a big phobia circle jerk on here today. Especially if this dude is Muslim as well (since those people will have two threads to circle jerk in).

Reality is being a real bitch for the Liberals today. They don't know who to defend.

And whoever created list is an idiot. He would lose his mind if he came to Louisiana in November.

No single item alone is an indicator....but when amassed with other items such weapons, ammunition, explosives, protective gear, camouflage, maps, etc it becomes a highly suspicious indicator. The suspect had weapons, ammunition, explosives, gas can, maps, and camouflage clothing in his car.

Maps, too? :lamo

The name of the dude in L.A. hasn't been released and it's been reported that he, "looked white". That pretty good indication he's a Muslim.

His name has been released: James Howell, 20 years old from Indiana.
