Navy fires officer in charge of captured sailors

Yup, in many ways it will. The higher up the event is the earlier the show time will be. You gotta be 15 minutes early for the 10 minutes early for the 10 minutes early, ect.
The other day I hade formation and the captain said formation was at 0630. Then my chief said 0615. By the time my team leader was done i was waking up at 0445 XD

The handling of the incident and its aftermath sparked criticism from President Barack Obama’s opponents in Congress, who said it illustrated how the administration has taken a soft line with Tehran. Some lawmakers also accused the White House of initially withholding some details about the case.

The episode has been closely reviewed by the Navy’s top brass, as it raised doubts about the force’s operations and readiness in one of the world’s most strategic waterways.

U.S. Navy Officer Sacked Over Iran Incident | Foreign Policy

Ya no kidding...this points to resource problems, procedure problems, following procedure problems, problems at several levels of command, and if we figure out that these fools were actually trying to take a shortcut through Iranian waters but got caught because their boat broke down and local commanders knew it then even more serious problems as well.

Which is entirely possible, the Navy is a mess.

And a lot of the screwups could have been prevented through better training, planning, etc. Yet nobody sane personally blames Franklin Roosevelt for any of those unfortunate shortcomings at Normandy.

Of course hindsight is 20/20. That has nothing to do with conduct.

A nice little rebuttal to those who claim that Obama's distain, disregard and mismanagement of the military has not harmed us. This is crazy bad execution in one of the most important theaters we are operating in.
