At least Seven Killed in Ohio Mass shooting

About three days before the cops solved the double-homicide we had here in our little town last winter, I told the wife, "I expect the sheriff to make an announcement on Skip and Sherry's murder any day now. Crimes like that are almost always committed by someone the victim knows, and in small towns like this, the cops are sure to have a lot of leads to work with."

The defendants turned out to be two brothers, one a former employee of the victim. Apparently, the victim owed him $400 for unpaid work. THe case was solved in roughly two weeks.

Even though this matter in Pike Co is going on a year-plus, I suspect it is moving in a similar direction as the case in my town. It will be someone the family knows, and the cops will have significant leads and a lot of sound evidence.

If it was an inside job or committed by a local, you'd think by now there would be some well known leads. some assume because of that lack of information, it was a hit team made up of non-locals. but the other evidence that has surfaced, suggest an inside job/

They may have a good idea who, what, why, etc. But, if they lack proof, a premature arrest would result in an acquittal. I would not be surprised to learn that the cops received a tip. My guess is one of the perps had loose lips and shared what he did with someone, who then immediately called the cops. Just a hunch.

there has been an arrest in the case today. The brother of one of the victims was arrested for obstruction (he destroyed a tracking device put on is truck) and tampering with evidence.
 
autopsy reports released in this unsolved crime. almost every victim-save one was shot MULTIPLE times in the head. the one guy not shot more than once was at his home away from the compound. The guy with the most decompensation had been shot NINE times-in the body and the head. Several of the victims were shot over 4 times in the head-in one case, the victim had the gun pressed against his head when he was shot 4-5 times. that gun was larger caliber than the others
 
Four people have been arrested in these killings-according to a breaking news announcement on the local Fox 19 news
 
It's great that the police were able to figure it out and make some arrests. If they are proven guilty, may they never see the light of day again.

47 year old man, 48 year old woman, 27 and 26 year old men. one of the younger men is named George Wagner IV, the 47 year old man is named George Wagner III so the obvious conclusion is father and son.

A diabolical plan to wrest custody from the other family.

Investigators say the family conspired together to kill the Rhoden family, and that indictments show custody of a young child plays a role in the case. Hanna Rhoden, one of the victims, had a young daughter with Jake Wagner, one of the suspects charged. That child was staying with the Wagners on the night of the murders.

DeWine says authorities spent two and a half years thoroughly investigating the case, beginning the day of the murders - April 22, 2016 - and discovered the last piece of significant physical evidence, a homemade firearm suppressor believed to have been built by the suspects, on October 30, 2018...

The young child at the center of the custody battle is now in the care of Children's Services.

Jake Wagner is also charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor for having sexual contact with Hanna Rhoden when she was 15 and he was 20.

That's not very far from my very first thought the instant I saw the pictures.
 
I hand it to DeWine. He could have grandstanded this and gone for the arrest before the election. But, he waited until he could apprehend all six of the suspects in one fell swoop, without violence.

I just saw their mug shots and first thing I thought was 'white trash'. Did you see the grandmother smiling in her mugshot? I wouldn't be surprised if there was inbreeding in this family. Hopefully they will get the death penalty.
