Flag burners get attacked by bikers[W:634]

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Well, mainly just when its hippies. :D

Jesus was the ultimate hippie, and he would disapprove of you. Find another religion that suits your personality.

Nope. :D

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Goshin respects thugs being thuggish when they're doing something he approves of.

At least this time there's a white thug walking side-by-side with a black thug. Chalk one up for racial harmony.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Like to see them try it. I dont think you know just how ready people are for a war in this nation.

Who wants a war? Are right wingers that butthurt over not getting their way all the time that they want a "revolution"?

AFAIC, if you want a "revolution," get lost. Nobody will miss you.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Well, then you better also correct the Wikipedia entry, along with the legal definition, and who knows what other myriad of sources.

The institution of enslaved citizens, by it's very nature, is not co-existent with Liberal Democracy. As I stated, Liberal Democracy at it's very least requires equal representation.

Maybe you have some legal work-around for this, but it sure isn't flying here.

Dude, I've already pointed out the problem with your reasoning here. It relies upon concepts which are entirely subjective.

Not everyone has the same view of "human rights," "civil liberties," or "personhood" that you do, and there's really nothing (as far as Political Science is concerned) to objectively say that your definition is correct where the C.S.A.'s was not. Again, the C.S.A. actually had the same definition of these concepts that the early United States did, and the United States continued to have those definitions right up until the end of the Civil War.

Unless you want to argue that the United States was not a founded as a "Liberal Democracy," and then magically flipped a switch and became one in 1865 (patently ridiculous on the face of things), you have no argument here.

The basic fact of the matter is the C.S.A. was founded on the same principles as our own Constitution, as a Representative Democratic Republic. That makes it a "Liberal Democracy."

It's your life, and your choice. If you want to hate on Jesus for being a hippie, while paradoxically worshiping him and using Jesus as the basis for all of your prejudices, that's totally cool.

:thumbs up:

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

If you look at this flag-burning in isolation you really don't understand the problem.

That statement makes literally no sense.

Life must be a utopia in Canada if its citizens need to worry about America so damn much.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Deflection? In fact it gets to the heart of the problem. If the right begins doing what the left has been up to for the past few decades then a genuinely hard rain's gonna fall, and the 'Silent Majority" will be silent no longer.

Yeah, yeah, right-wingers are oppressed. Boo hoo.

American (and, apparently, Canadian) conservatives are the biggest crybabies on the planet.

Silly hippie. Go start a drum circle or something. :D

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Protest is one thing. Doing things to deliberately piss others off is going to far.

Tell that to Pam Geller, who was vociferously defended by the same conservatives who are now saying violence against free speech practitioners is OK.

Checkmate.

You worship hippies. Literally. Maybe you should actually read that book you thump.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Having seen you express your opinion of this country here many times, I am not surprised to see you try to defend people who burned its flag. Three cheers for the men who chased these cowards away.

I will add you to the list of fascists.

My my, Amadeus, are we cross? Does this mean we're not friends anymore? If I didn't think we were friends anymore, I don't think I could bear it. :D

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

True, cops should have turned around and opened fire to protect old glory.

None of the conduct of the cons defending this crap (or, in this case, encouraging its escalation) surprises me.

Fascists, the lot of you. Your true colors have been shown.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Then you celebrate violence for opposing opinions.

They are fascist and proud. I am actually stunned that they seem so eager to finally admit it.

We're still friends. I need you to remind me of the braying hypocrisy of warmongering Christian conservatives. The pic you posted of a police officer pepper-spraying peaceful protesters in the face is classic Goshin.

What makes you think Jesus was a hippie?

Have a lovely evening, sweetie. :D

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

I expect this kind of garbage from the imbeciles, but it surprises me coming from Goshin.

You are cheerleading violence against people practicing free speech.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Well, what is your position then, spit it out.

My position is neither of the above. I just think it is amusing when idiots collide. I am totally for 1st Amendment rights so I sympathize with the flag burners. I spent 28 years serving that flag so that kinda pisses me off. It's a wash. Stupid bikers kick ass on stupid flag burners. I guess I am supposed to get all wrapped around the axle about which idiots I side with. That requires energy that I am not willing to waste on either side of this issue. It reminds me of watching a South Park episode. I draw immense pleasure from watching stupidity regardless where it comes from. I guess my position is kind of bent over at this point. I feel this pounding sensation in my backside every time I read the news. I have to draw some amusement from somewhere.

You're one of those way too serious people that just drags the energy out of the room, aren't you?

If you give a rat's ass about the law or the Bill of Rights, you'd side with the flag burners. There is literally no rational argument that the bikers were in the right here.

Alright.

I think I see what you're getting at, here.

Firstly, no definition of Liberal Democracy in today's context would ever allow for the enslavement of it's citizens. It's just not going to happen.

Now, if we'd like to say 'in the context of the times' or some-such, that Liberal Democracies had slavery, fair enough - though I have issues with that, and at best might call them 'flawed'.

But we've got to remember, we're no longer in 1861.

You're graph is comparing an archaic era (Civil War era), with a modern one (WWII era), and then presented to us in today's context.

Which era's definition is correct?

Actually, I'm notoriously sarcastic and unserious in my day to day life. I guess turning it into a personal attack means you have no argument.
